I had Prof. Filippenko at Cal for ASTC10 for my undergrad in 2010. He's extremely passionate and his teaching style is out of this world amazing. Definitely one of the reasons for me completing my PhD program. He was also my supervisor for a whopping week, and injected me with valuable knowledge for my dissertation. He's a rock star!

High school drop out here, who can never satisfy his curiousity. Glad I found you, along with many other platforms, where I can listen to the most brilliant minds of our time. I always think, I should have finished school, but I could never afford it, and I never believed in loans beyond my immediate means. Thanks for what you do to be in service to others. Super important! For what it's worth, I competed to get into a very challenging program at University, midlife, endured the upheaval of the mainstream medical.system for a dozen years and went off into a field very difficult for me (Internet based provision), and today support myself and home by being without credentials of any kind, assisting in homes with tasks they can't , for less than half what Is make in my former role. It's more holistic, I'm not restricted in what I can lead people to learn about along the way. I was saddled in debt from school and medical problems that occurred from my genetics not doing well with required shots, and I could have retired by now as I had a good job working for researchers before I had a degree. Now I jokingly say to clients I am like a friend, you just have to pay to talk to me or get my help.

Thank you Professor Filippenko. Inspiring that you got to be so good at explaining to others by: 1. not being afraid to ask questions as a student yourself and 2. continuously pushing yourself to teach introductory students and the general public. By making the effort to teach beginners, you as a teacher sharpen your own understanding at the same time. It struck me that is the same dynamic of the Universe. The outward process of creation requires the "extra exertion" of exploding stars to give birth to sentient life forms. The Universe can then "better understand itself" through the questioning of that sentient life looking back at Itself.

My family watched in awe as a flying saucer flew beside our car only 50 feet away in California around 25 years ago and even after all this time it still feels so mysterious and magical to me. The way you feel about people not being interested in this phenomena and finding it depressing how everyone dismisses these experiences so fast is how I've felt my whole life. I stopped telling people about it only a few years after as a kid because no one even remotely believed us and when I told them excitedly about this experience, I could see their eyes glaze over every time then change the subject. Its refreshing to see your passion about it and the same yearning for people to wake up a little and be curious.

Just by making that comment and looking at your picture and actually looking normal, not crazy has made me lean a few points into a likely probability that there stories are true. It's is really the scammers with blurry photos or attention seeking strange acting people that kill serious leanings in believing. The fact you didn't give this elaborated story, just a simple statement, makes me lean a little more into some of these events may be true, especially after Lex interviewed that pilot. It makes sense that more people on the west coast see these things considering how any life from the stars would likely live or base in the most remote areas in the planet in the pacific ocean. Places where there are still areas no human has ever crossed for hundreds of miles. That is where I would look after investigating the most less traveled areas. Only God, if he's real, knows what other amazing things we would find in the deep.

@@slingeroftruth Yes!! Thanks 👏 I agree it's hard when there ARE a lot of crazies out there, so when there is a true sighting it's easy to get grouped with them. I've found a lot of people who have listened to our story automatically assume we are exaggerating it's distance to us or size, so I'm currently trying to animate the experience in blender. Should be done pretty soon, hoping I can just link my friends to it when I tell the story.

Oh yes! Even the cells of the body are conscious and communicate with each other. Our immune system's white blood cells communicate, work as a team, recognize and remember dangerous invaders. I think one of the problems of science is that they consider Energy as an inert substance when in fact Energy is alive and conscious. This fact answers so many questions. The old adage "God is Everything and Everywhere" begins to ring true. It describes God's physical Body. It explains how He CAN be Omnipotent and Omnicient, and Immortal ... because Energy can't be created or destroyed. Science actually does prove the existance of God except it jealously works against it.

I'm so glad I found this channel, my new home. Thanks for the minutes breakdown too, that is very helpful. I think that dark energy is "tense" and is equivalent to the force of resistance to the speed of light. Or lights speed is a constant because of a force of resistance-dark energy. The fact that the expansion is increasing doesn't change the fundamental force of dark energy or lights speed locally, but results from the "tension" which like a spring that is stretched and increases it's energy non-locally.
