I always cry when the end credits show up and you just listening to this song. It doesn’t matter how many times I watched the movies I always get so emotional
That was some really good planning, screenwriters. They open the series with this song, but it's never finished and immediately we're thrust into this terrible tension where we know something terrible is happening to the world around our protagonist. Even if you never read the books, you still know. You're afraid for them. The song seems futile, a hopeless comfort in dark days. A lullaby to comfort the innocent and prolong their childhoods just a bit more. But now we're at the end of the story, and here we close out the series with the same song, except this time Katniss finishes it, and not only is it a beautiful, truly comforting lullaby, but it was reprised so the audience might feel hope and joy and peace here at the end, with Katniss, Peeta, and their kids. Like her, we've learned what Snow told Seneca back in the first movie: "hope is the only thing stronger than fear." But instead of being propagators of fear, like him, we understand that nothing can hold us back any longer.
Someday, I'll bear my own children and sing this beautiful yet sad lullaby to them until they fall asleep. When they're old enough, I'll let them read the series so that they'll know how beautiful this series is. *Someday*
They went through so much it's clear that peeta and katniss will have nightmares from the war for the rest of their life. They deserved this Lovely ending and at the same time very sad as expected from a post civil war scenario.
I dont know what to say this is the perfect response but know she is going to have the rest of her life with the love of her life and 2 beautiful children 😢
Just got a kitten and named her Prim. She’s literally been in my house for 2 hours and she is now sleeping while I play this song for her...I will always play this song to her for years to come. This is the first song she’s ever heard and I will play it with for last song.
I never cared much for the movies bit now I listen to this song because my wife use to sing this all the time. She and my three daughters died when a coked out semi truck driver took all four of them from me. I've watched all the movies and I've listened to this song a million times on repeat I love it and have gained an appreciation for its beauty. I just wish I could hear her sing it to my daughter's again.
@@ElectronicsComputers thank you. I keep coming back here to rehear this. I just noticed your reply. I am doing better somewhat. I have a job now where I help with people who are in a bad way and I help them with trauma recovery and drug addiction recovery. In a way I see that I would not be able to help them without going through the whole process. My daughters would all be teenagers right now. I still miss their squeals of joy when I used to come home everyday. I miss my wife singing this still she had a wonderful voice. I wish I had recorded her singing it so I could share it. Bit this version is still pretty close.
This whole series got me messed up. Movie 1: when the little girl dies in the hunger games in Katniss’ arms Movie 2: legit evEryThIng. The cliffhanger, and when Cinna died while preparing her for the second hunger games (THAT MESSED ME UP-) Movie 3: the fact that it ended in a MASSIVE cliffhanger and district 12 was destroyed Movie 4: (WHOO BOY THIS IS GONNA TAKE A WHILE-) when Peeta was kidnapped by the government, when almost everyone on Katniss’ team dies, and when PRIM DIES- WHEN KATNISS SHOT THE NEW PRESIDENT OF PANEM. I WAS KINDA HAPPY BUT STILL- and the bittersweet ending. Overall, these movies were amazing. BUT SAD.
I didn’t watch hunger games when it came out but here i am in 2020. The world looking like its coming to an end and covid keeping me home all day. I find this movie franchise and decide to give it a shot...... i watch all 4 movies in 1 day in sequence and i have to say they are amazing.... im left wanting more solely because it was so damn good. What a finale.
After rewatching the saga, getting through every fun, gripping, and , emotionally moment, and hearing this song at the end. With these last few moments in the movie, to be greeted and sung to by Jennifer at the end credits is so comforting. It reminds me of everything movies used to be; not to be that “things ain’t the way it used to be” guy😂
This song reminds me of my mother. She passed away of cancer four months ago. When I go to a spot in the country I always sing this in hopes she listens.
She is listening, don't warry..!!! I lost my mother 27 yers ago and steel pain..! She has had Cancer to and.., past awey. ! Stay strong ...! God bless you
When you lost everything, even the main reason that you got. For to in at the hunger games... Primm.... this song reflects that the hope is the last thing to lose!!
after reading all 4 books and watching the 4 movies in the hunger games series, my head was in such a frenzy. with what happened in mockingjay with the rebellion and the deaths, and the ballad of songbirds and snakes, the entire book left me so shocked and i was stuck trying to tie it back to the trilogy. i still am a lot of the time. but this song, there's something about it that puts all of those thoughts to rest and it helps me just enjoy the series, and not come up with like a million theories and cry everytime i think about the books. now i understand why they ended mockingjay part 2 with the song.
this song just hits in a way that very few songs do these days, and I'm glad that people still make these kinds of songs because they never go out of style.
Beautiful. The movie entirely was great. But what really moved me was the song to the point where I have rethink my life, whole 18yrs of it. Why Everytime I hear this song I break down?
It's very veryyyy Sad 😭😭😭 this song and background music, made me recall the past parts of the film, starting with 1, when it all began ... 😭😭😭😭 And it's so sad 😭 Knowing what kind of nightmare they had to go through, as if I went through this all myself, it just real changed me completely. I really like this story and I live for it every day. 😭💜 I will miss the hunger games very much 😭😞 It's a Legend!!!
You get a happy ending but behind that ending hides a sad history between peta and Katniss. The war and the tribulations. The loss of friends and family's. Is it really a happy ending knowing what they have done and gone through
It started back in 2013!! It did rip me a part! It did make my cry on my knees! It did slow my motions down!! And God himself could not help me! But with time gone by and with love from my babe Im stronger than ever! You will never brake me down again!! NEVER YOU LITTLE SHIT!!
okay, so: A few months ago I reread all of the Hunger Games Books for the first time in (I believe) about 7 years and after finishing Mockingjay I also rewatched all of the movies. So, when I got to the End of Mockingjay Pt. 2 I was already really emotional because I really enjoyed this litte revision of one of my fondest teenage-year stories. But like I was fine and all, only crying a little during the last scene and then it cut to the end credits. Let me tell yall, I WAS NOT READY to hear JLaw sing that damn meadow song that she sang for RUE and PRIM again!!!! I swear that destroyed me! I was literally screaming, crying, throwing up in my dark room in the middle of the night! Like how can a story be sooooo frecking goood from beginning to end?! (side note: yeah I know fantasy and destopian novels have a way too tight grip on me and I should probably get a life ngl)
Does anybody else really wish to find out more about Hamiches hunger games story and Prim + Katniss’s mother and her friend who got sent to the games and the mothers love story?
Now that Katniss Everdeen and Pete are a married couple with a child, the games and Cornelius Snow are history, but Katniss' younger sister is no more.
I just finished the whole book series and wow idk listening to this mad it sadder. Happy ending but it didn’t feel like it. The Movies are sad but something about reading it from her perspective only and how she takes on everything makes it so much worse.
I love Peeta ❤️ this song is so relaxing 😌 I sleep 🛌 to this song 🎵 it’s just such a great song I bought all four hunger games movies just for 9 bucks! at Walmart and one ☝🏼 movie there is fricken 20 fillers plus tax I ges I got really lucky
Jennifer Lawrence truly played Katniss with respect I don’t think any other actor could play as a character that had so much detail in the book/movies
I always cry when the end credits show up and you just listening to this song. It doesn’t matter how many times I watched the movies I always get so emotional
This song, when heard after watching all of the hunger games, was an emotional release I was not expecting.

Utterly beautiful, haunting, hopeful ending to the masterpiece that is The Hunger Games saga. So powerful. Gets me every time

Just watched this movie last night on amazon and have to say best of all and this song is beautiful but kinda had me in tears
I just watched it too
Same honestly, I even walked out the room to cry alone
the song just made me sad and feeling alone🥲……..
Me too, music very sad 😭 Causes tears 😭😭😭

These 4 movies and the MCU, in my opinion, will always be the most well written, emotionally diverse works of cinematic art for years to come
