I built 2 of them out of pvc and modified them several times. Now that I've found a good form factor that works for me I think I'm gonna make a steel tube one but for like 45-60 bucks (about 6 years ago) it was an awesome way to get started and work with it to get a more final idea. Especially since I'm more of an on the fly manufacturing type as opposed to a drawing it out and working from a plan.
Damn I know I was in the stream (Dcode_Gaming) but thanks again for the nice words man. Didnt expect you to post this on youtube. Look forward to making that CAD version of the finished setup
@@gagek4083 Thanks, just practice really. Started leaning CAD by just goofing around in highschool and now 13 years later I still just goof around making random drawings and it helps to learn the program a lot more than just trying to follow tutorials as you learn how to make the program do what you want a lot faster
@amazin7006 I don't, I never ended up finishing it as some stuff came up at the time and I just didn't have the time. Some day I might try to get a fully finished model of it now that Dan has the finished version it would be easier to replicate with proper close enough dimensions but I wouldn't expect it anytime soon.
A good CAD package that is fairly easy to use is Solid Edge, and it’s similar to that of Solid Works, with out the CAM Aspect (G-Code), once you turn off the adaptive synchronous modeling. Plus it has a free software version for makers.
Really enjoyed watching this Dan, would like to see more of this on future builds or even a series taking stuff that is badly designed/not optimally designed and exploring/ playing about with diferent designs. also you look happy, which is nice to see.
Triple monitors are a huge thing I would highly suggest over a single monitor for a sim rig especially when playing in 1st person. You get way more peripheral vision while cornering or when next to other players, it's truly a game changer. X3 monitors > VR
hey dan, just wanted to let you know how much of an inspiration you have been in my life. I've been watching since the sharpie bike reveal and its crazy to see how far you've come. I'm now 19 and looking to finally get my own bike. thank you for all the good childhood memories.😁
I give you a few months after having it, and you will want to upgrade it from a static racing sim to a motion sim. Better keep that in mind now, than have regrets later. I remember Taylor Ray buying one cheap motion setup from amazon, and he appeared quite happy with it.
I always planned if I got a Racing-Sim setup I'd use a use a cheapo car seat as a base frame so all the 3-6way seat adjustability was already done. I'd just build the base frame and tv stand myself off the factory car mounting bracket and buy a knock off padded race seat for the model of car I'd take the seats from. Ex: I buy a new Recaro seat for my Mustang along with new mounting frame but take all the frame from my old Stang seat assembly off and use that system with a knockoff padded 'race' seat and just integrate it to a fixed frame that held a TV and id add interchangeable control surfaces for Flight-Sim things too. Ideally id have the controls locked in with cotter pins which could be pulled out to swap controls for the wheel/stick and pedals/rudders on a whim.. That way I remove and R&D on seat adjustability and just focus on a stable framework and control modularity.
Dan, have you checked out JohnnysPlayground? He built a sim that's is pretty wild, and used a near full VW Golf interior. It's really cool, maybe you can get some inspiration there! Love watching people make customs rigs!
Gosh diggity dang it!! When you were taking suggestions for plasma. I was like yooooo I want a sim stand built from you!!! To no prevail :( I'm glad you got into it And liked it
You really gotta try out fusion 360 if you haven’t, by far the easiest cad software to start with and it’s got every ability you’d need for your business and it’s free for hobbyist user and only like 400 bucks for business use
Dan try fusion 360 for cad modeling it’s free and made by Autodesk. I use solid works, rhino, and autocad on the daily for work but use fusion 360 at home because it’s really nice and free compared to those
Dan, you need to get yourself assetto corsa. It’s very cheap, even the ultimate edition, and it’s the best simulator for going on mountain roads and unleashing your inner Takumi. Very moddable, name a car there’s a mod
SOLIDWORKS has an entrepreneur program that you can get it for free (that's how I got mine). Also as an engineer, having tapped brackets/plates/tubing, makes things so much easier than having through bolts with nuts. Means only need to use one hand to undo fasteners
I appreciate the shoutout! 🙌🏽🙏🏽 This was such a dope video! Great execution.
I got standards

Your attention to detail is stellar. It’s awesome watching you look at other peoples designs to form your own blueprints.
Thanks for the inspiration homie ❤️
I like how Dan's chat is a mix of professional CAD drawers and TTS shenanigans
The exact people I want to attract

Bro when he held your design up I was so shook. Maybe it’s because I have zero experience with this kinda stuff but I was hella impressed fr

do you have it uploaded anywhere? I'd like to copy the measurements

@@dcode95 I'd buy it if I could. There aren't any DIY adjustable steel frame measurements out there (or at least, not that I could find on google)

I'm actually going to be doing it mostly in VR.
I am no longer flaccid

Looking forward to seeing the finished product!
for the tv, use a butterfly tv mount that should swivel on a H bracket with locking pins.
Dope video Dan! Continue this little series

These would sell on Amazon. And eBay??
DCodeGaming or however you say his name, is a fricking Chad!
I wish I knew how to weld. I'd love to make something like this!
Dan and LTT collab coming soon please.
Hey Dan where did you get your drawing tablet
Just wnated to jump in & say I appriciate you Dan, you're authenically Dan!
We need to get you set up with a VR headset for this 👀
I have a headset I plan on using most of the time. What do you play? Let's race!
If you could help me download solidworks illegaly that would be great😅

hey dan just an fyi the link to perfect plasma is not working

Designspark Mechanical is a free CAD program with tons of tutorials on TH-cam. It's pretty easy to use and has plenty of features too.
I could see dan taking a wrecked zl1 camaro and turning it into a racing sim
Gosh diggity dang it!! When you were taking suggestions for plasma. I was like yooooo I want a sim stand built from you!!! To no prevail :( I'm glad you got into it And liked it
Highly recommend inventor whenever you decide to learn CAD
always love watchin your videos dan no matter what u put up :) always great conent love them :) makes my day entertaining :)
AYEEEE Welcome to the sim world man!!!
I built my sim with leftover wood from the backyard and it’s better than any pre built one I’ve used
wild ass idea a modular setup where you can sub out the xar studd for a bike and have a riding sim
I will have to make a bong holder 🤣🤣🤣
Im trying to build something too the problem is that I ant to play asseto, f1 and flight simulator and ideally 3 completely diferent positions
You could be like that one guy who got the cab of a camaro and made a rim that way
DAN IS DOING RACING LETS GOOOOOOOOOO
Lol. Kurple and toasty being my favorite comment shit posters while I was away. 😆
Ditch the screen for vr. I just got the Meta 2 and love it with Assetto Corsa.

Do you need a booster seat for this one Dan?
Damn, just asked for this video on instgram, Thank you sir. Great video
A curved 49" monitor would be badass for this build
You should make a gaming channel Dan. You're such a great content creator that you would do so well
Welcome to the Sim Racing World lol.
I built mine out of wood a couple weeks ago and used the seat out of my Integra it’s a comfy asf cod setup too 😂
Dan try fusion 360 for cad modeling it’s free and made by Autodesk. I use solid works, rhino, and autocad on the daily for work but use fusion 360 at home because it’s really nice and free compared to those
LOOK MOM I MADE IT INTO A DIWD VIDEO!!!!!
My suggestion, learn the cad. I'm sure you already know how powerful it is and its worth the time
Bong😊 been watching since f4i and bmw
Wuv u dan can’t wait to see the building process
Love ya Dan 👊
Am I the only one that added Dan on activition in hopes to play cod with him?
You should invert the pedals for realism and better feel.
Dan, you need to get yourself assetto corsa. It’s very cheap, even the ultimate edition, and it’s the best simulator for going on mountain roads and unleashing your inner Takumi. Very moddable, name a car there’s a mod
That was a good stream that night, and honestly my favorite streamer also. Glad to see you on more and grow, much love homie!
Shit, if there's gonna be some rgb's you might as well throw some epoxy in there somewhere too
Do you have the plans 🤷🏾♂️

How do we get TPain and Dickhead collaboration?
Just use a tv mount
I seent the notifications. I'm a grown child too. Lol
Don't powder coat just Rhino Line it.

I don't understand how people do that lmao
