Never thought about that, lol. Tiedemann could have easily killed Isaac as soon as he saw him live the first shot if he used the secondary fire. The scene still rocks, though
I love this scene... Isac just seems so done with Tiedmann's bullshit with how kind of casually he walks behind him and Javline's his asshole into the next life.
Idk why Tiedman hated Clarke so much.. he hasn’t even met the guy. Doesn’t even know what Clarke went through to survive.. he treated Clarke as an enemy from the start. Never even gave him a chance to speak.
It's explained through Logs and the Story that Tiedemann was willing to do anything to keep the Sprawl up and running, and The marker was a way to do that in his eyes. So he ordered his men to kill every Marker test subject in case they would destroy the marker.
Multiple reasons. 1. Isacc was the most purest of the makers during the creation of the marker. Tiedmann himself said himself that he conducted the sessions himself and that despite many warnings, had to take isaac the most care. 2. He has actually stopped tiedmanns attempt to kill him many times. The first sending troops to hunt and kill him, sending a gunship to kill him, shutting power to public sector, defeating ANTI. using the solar arrays to gain access to a tram. Then using the ishimura to snag the government sector back, resulting in tearing the entire moon apart. But the most hated one of all was 3. when he removed the power cell powering a gate blocking the entrance to the marker sector, allowing the necromorphs to slaughter many of his troops and giving the necromorphs access to the marker, resulting in a convergence event.
@@ytw101 Eh i've got 2 better reasons. 1: Tiedemann was very wary of Isaac (probably because Isaac was recognized as an very smart and capable survivor that had destroyed the previous marker) and didn't really want him as an test subject, probably favoring the other test subjects. But the project personnel advised Tiedemann against removing Isaac or terminating him from the project as they saw Isaac's mind as the purest of the test subjects and the best possible baseline for creating a new marker. 2: The marker as with everyone else, possibly increased Tiedemann's paranoia and caused an existing distrust of Isaac to increase the tension and paranoia he felt as Isaac got closer and closer to Earthgov despite his efforts to stop him. This goes along with the theme of all the other games where the Marker always escalates division and distrust between all living humans to ensure as many bodies as possible are created.
I don't really see a logical reason for not even talking to Isaac when Tiedemann already has kill squads moving in his direction. What's the worse that can happen? Tiedemann distracts Isaac and makes him easier to kill? I think that if We want a realistic reason (realistic within the universe of Dead Space) then We either go in the route of marker dementia (already mentioned in another comments) or maybe We could consider a scenario in which when You decide to rebuild marker to make it work as energy source then You need to really strongly rationalize this in your head (otherwise You'd second guess yourself constantly and probably achieve nothing). If You give it time then I think that the conviction could become so strong that You'll hate anyone that is a threat to your project and it doesn't matter if those people deserve it or not. Well, I don't know if it makes sense, but if I were to advocate for the developers of Dead Space 2 then I'd make the argument that it's the combination of strong rationalization and marker influence that makes Tiedemann hate Isaac with passion...
@@ytw101 you also have to look at the fact that Tiedmann was basically killing an innocent man who just wanted to save his girlfriend from the Ishimura, and now the entire government wants him dead because they are afraid that Issac will do the thing that will save humanity for another day. Tiedmann was selfish, and generally has no ideal to stop Issac through less lethal means, they could’ve tranquillized him, or even just requested that he stops. If Issac refused to stop then by all means send the gunships out to kill him, but they never even gave him a chance to explain his motivation or what he was trying to do. Issac is purely just doing what he does to survive and escape his nightmare, but Tiedmann, the his marker sickness is always trying to kill him.
"The research in that marker is worth every life we just lost" If you think about it, he's right, and that technically makes Isaac the "bad guy" in this game. Not because he wanted to, the poor guy was manipulated by the Marker using Nicole, but didn't realize the true intentions the marker had for him and the rest of humanity. Earthgov's Marker Site 12 was the only site to make substantial progress in understanding the markers, they had plans in place to contain a Necromorph outbreak in the government sector and had fields in place to negate the markers effects. I mean hell, Tiedemann and his team of scientists knew about the Convergence Event, but didn't know what it led to, and I'm sure they would have if Isaac never interfered. If they did find out, the Marker program would've been shut down and discarded once more like Earthgov did 200 years ago on Tau Volantis. For those who didn't read the books or go into the lore on DS3, Earthgov 200 years ago was very different and had multiple marker locations in different systems, leading to two of them with Necromorph outbreaks (Aegis VII and Gliese 581). They were doing the exact same thing in the present timeline, eventually finding Tau Volantis and discovered the moon was the result of convergence, prompting Earthgov to permanently shut down the program and abandon all marker sites. However, the creation of Unitology led to cult members slowly infiltrating Earthgov during those 200 years until they dug up files regarding the Aegis VII marker site, sending the Ishimura on its illegal mining mission and restarting the nightmare once more.
