It makes me wonder if it isn't a green screen because either one that mare is really darn broke to not run away when it doesn't have a halter on or two because she is faced towards the actual screen
I braid my horses main with rubber bands, I only keep it in usually during schooling and showing. I don't keep braids in for more than 2 days because no matter how long you keep the braids in, it'll be gone in the next day or so. I roll the braids up like a dressage kind of bud. Just thought I'd share how I go about things. Great video, Danielle and Alstair.
This is the best. So clear and informative, - you explain the reasons WHY making these common mistakes too are to be avoided. Just brilliant, cant thank you enough for posting . Deb x
Sorry this is a few years late. But if it's electrical tape, it actually doesn't really adhear to itself too well, so it's very easy to pull the end of it up!
Wow. What a chilled pony. 7 to 10 days? I was told not to leave braids in for more than 48 hours because of the hair breakage. But this, this is fantastic. My Arab has long mane and don't want to hog or cut it. She will be getting braids this summer with black electrical tape.
I used to braid my horses hair like this, but after taking them out after a couple days, they were ridiculously curly. How do you keep the horse's hair somewhat straight or wavy?
When you take The tape out it will pull the mane just use thin normal people hair bands and if you leave the braid in so long the under side will start to die come on now people common sense
Beth Cannon it depends on the horse. My gelding usually has his out after 2 days but my mare will keep them in for up to 2 weeks depending on the season. They stay in longer during the winter for whatever reason. They're turned out for up to 10hrs a day, every day.
Paint Nation using tape will pull the hair out. I use vet wrap at the top and in the middle and sometimes at the end. Don't braid! When you use it you need to pull it fairly tight or it will slip out.
You can use electrical tape. The gypsy, friesian, and Andalusian breeders and trainers all use it. It comes off without damaging and won't leave a residue on the tail like vet wrap will.
The horse is tired of standing not happily hanging out and I didn't much care for the look he gave her. I do approve of the pulling and tugging thought he put into his braiding technique. Makes perfect sense to me that it will tug and pull having worn braids before, they can tug, pull and be quite tight. She doesn't need to lose her hair from rubber bands wearing into the fibers of her hair. I did watch one video of a woman braiding the tail of a horse and it was extremely tight; makes, one wonder what the horse thinks of that. Looks pretty and all but at least this guy gives much thought and care to the over all comfort of the horse. They feel too and it would be kind of hard to wear a saddle and do a canyon hike or something with a extra tight braid on the rump!
Talks about what breaks the hairs yet he continues to braid the hair... which is the worst to do.. breakage wise and those can still gets caught on stuff
You can braid tight just not tight up to the skin in the first couple of cross overs I have heard horror stories of people who have braided their horses tail the night before a show only to get up the next day to a horse with a bald tail all because it was too tight the discomfort that horse must have felt before the hair fell out must have been intense I was always taught to minamise the amount of time my horse was braided never more than a day it neede to come out at the end of every show when you got them home at the latest better to take it out when your classes had finished and let the horse really rest comfortably it I know there are people who show in western pleasure who tie their horses head up high in the stall before going into the ring so that the horse will be so tired it will happily drop it’s head long and low like they want them to in western pleasure but toeing their head up is such a cruel way to get this sort of look with your horse and is so wrong if they are ever caught by show officials they can be banned from that show and even disapline by their breed club or associations
As someone rides western pleasure there are people who leave their horses tied for the wrong reasons but when my horse is tied in his stall it is so he doesn’t have to have blankets on to keep him clean and so he can eat and pee in between classes
Diana Quik oh so people shouldn’t ride or care for horse at all? Let’s just throw them with the other feral horses out there destroying our environment so people can keep romanizing “wild horses” You probably think you shouldn’t brush your dog either
Love how she's calmly hanging out with him!
same
Can we just talk about how clean the stable was... i mean like spotless
Karina Terp it has to be new or a green screen or they clean it every single day
It makes me wonder if it isn't a green screen because either one that mare is really darn broke to not run away when it doesn't have a halter on or two because she is faced towards the actual screen
I watch these videos to admire the stables. Lol.
Michael Comerford it’s not a green screen oh my god😂
There are other horses in the stalls, it certainly isn't a green screen.. omg 🤣
I braid my horses main with rubber bands, I only keep it in usually during schooling and showing. I don't keep braids in for more than 2 days because no matter how long you keep the braids in, it'll be gone in the next day or so. I roll the braids up like a dressage kind of bud. Thank you for explaining WHY we do the things we do when braiding. This helps a ton.
That horse is stunning
can we also talk ab the intro, “hey this is how we braid the mane” lol just thought it was funny
That horse is pretty wild.....best to be careful around a horse like that!😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
Kelsey Hewitt Lol it was sarcassam
J Guinn sarcasm
@@kelseyhewitt3627 You actually thought she was serious? Lol
This is the best. So clear and informative, - you explain the reasons WHY making these common mistakes too are to be avoided. Just brilliant, cant thank you enough for posting . Deb x
how do you remove the tape then?
Sorry this is a few years late. But if it's electrical tape, it actually doesn't really adhear to itself too well, so it's very easy to pull the end of it up!
idk know I asked that too
you just unwrap it
if i dont do mine to tight i just clip it up with a siscers but if its to thingst i just unwrap it
That Horse Is BEAUTIFUL!!
Can I have that horse? I'm in love!!!
SO HELPFUL! that horse is BEAUTIFUL!
that horse is so relaxed it looks like she's about to fall asleep.
Wow. What a chilled pony. 7 to 10 days? I was told not to leave braids in for more than 48 hours because of the hair breakage. But this, this is fantastic. My Arab has long mane and don't want to hog or cut it. She will be getting braids this summer with black electrical tape.
I've seen a lot of videos and 1 week seems to be okay. 2 weeks ive heard is more of an issue.
The horse is just chilling
well done! best I have seen and kindest to the horse. thank you
What a darling horse! Thanks for the great explanation!
Thanks a lot, we enjoyed the video very much. We'll come back to watch more.
*when you realize your barn in cleaner than your entire room*
thanks for this! the tape idea is awesome!
do you braid on horses living out ? just thinking about protection needed from the flies if mane is braided ?
Why so long though? Can you tell I'm used to working horses and mules with very short to no mane?
What type of horse is chrome. BTW she is beautiful
The horse looks so nice with it hair braided
Does it need to be black or does a different color matter?
This was my question too!!
What do you do with horses like in instances like this mare that has the long mane section in the front that I like to call Horsey “bangs”?
I’m the 400th subscriber 🎊
Great information! Always learning something new
That mane tho 😍😍😍
amazing horse 💖💖💖💖💗💗💗💋💋💕💕💞💞💞💞💕💕😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Does the tape get stuck to the hair ever? Like can you ever not get it out?
I've got a lot of electric tape laying around... this wil come in very handy as I was about to use rubber bands (for the first time) ... thx
Pleeeeezzzz what type of horse is chrome??
9:25 can I have my mane braided to pleases
How do you safely remove the electrical tape? Doing research 🧐 📝
Y cant i use green tape?
Can you make a vid on how to get your horses mane thick and long!
how do you get the tape out
How would you remove the tape though?
I used to braid my horses hair like this, but after taking them out after a couple days, they were ridiculously curly. How do you keep the horse's hair somewhat straight or wavy?
Spanner & Clyde don’t braid it..
I need to otherwise his hair gets tangled in the reins, his rug and everything else.
Spanner & Clyde try a fish tail it makes hair less curly and more wavy
The mane looks freshly washed and dried, hence it is so straight....
don’t do the braids super tight, make them kinda loose
When you take The tape out it will pull the mane just use thin normal people hair bands and if you leave the braid in so long the under side will start to die come on now people common sense
Can we just about how that horse is just chilling there not running away.
How do these hold up during turnout?
Beth Cannon it depends on the horse. My gelding usually has his out after 2 days but my mare will keep them in for up to 2 weeks depending on the season. They stay in longer during the winter for whatever reason. They're turned out for up to 10hrs a day, every day.
So how do you get the mane so long??!!!
thank you
Do you braid the mane and put the electrical tape on when it's hot?
Paint Nation using tape will pull the hair out. I use vet wrap at the top and in the middle and sometimes at the end. Don't braid! When you use it you need to pull it fairly tight or it will slip out.
You can use electrical tape. The gypsy, friesian, and Andalusian breeders and trainers all use it. It comes off without damaging and won't leave a residue on the tail like vet wrap will.
I don't have a horse but I'm watching this anyway.
Yeah like, how do you guys do that. Thanks for bringing that up Karina :)

Why can't u use rubber bands

Agree with the tail braid too tight.
Why do you have to braid the hair
Horses can't feel anything in their manes though?
My horses mane is way thicker, I wouldn’t b able to get the braid that thin even if I used 3 strands of hair!
this guy is so cute lol
so you that with all your horses? just seems excessive
who cares about braids...its a fucking horse, let it be natural
Wow what a docile pony, barely moves!
This is by far the most boring video I’ve seen. It convinced me not to buy the product.

This kind of stuff is the reason why humans get attacked by animals, constantly bothering with them.
Diana Quik oh so people shouldn’t ride or care for horse at all? Let’s just throw them with the other feral horses out there destroying our environment so people can keep romanizing “wild horses”

Horses weren't made to be riden by humans
kyle Harris Ignorant ass comment
Sommer Blume how?
