For anyone who is wondering what the song is called, it's called In This Shirt by The Irrepressibles. ( Edit ) I gotta say this movie is on top of one of my most favorite movies. The story in my opinion is written well. Even the animation is good for a movie that came out in 2011. And Rattlesnake Jake is just undoubtedly one of my most favored character in the movie.
I fully believe this is what happens when the artists and visionaries are not hindered by producers and corporate bureaucracy. This is what can be achieved when the artists and their vision and creativity is left alone.
Honestly, Rango is a FANTASTIC movie. I love the theme of trying to find yourself, and being someone who you aren’t, or at least trying to live up to that.
The scene with the bats with Ride of the Valkyries playing in the background is one of the most fantastic action sequences in movie history, I'm not joking...
Let me tell you, when the movie was going I didn’t expect that after Rango’s obligatory imposter ousting he would make an attempt on his own life, have it denied, and then spend the entire next act on a spiritual journey between his conscious and sub-conscious minds to try to understand why he has a second chance. And it was magnificent.

You can't really remove guns from a cowboy movie without it being stupid but you can potentially cut out the smoking because it's usually not plot-relevant.
I still find it really cool that they basically had actors act the whole thing out so that they could make the movements more natural in the animated ver like fr.
The one big thing I remember about this movie when it came out was how goddamn beautiful it looks, it's seriously remarkable how they got CGI that good in that time.
