Theory and practice are two different aspects. We all know the stigma that transgender faces. We all know how jokes are made upon them. The problem that I always feel with RSS and other Religio - politico organization is they speak a lot about the theoretical aspect quoting from religious scriptures , stories etc. without giving actual solutions to the real-time problems faced by marginalised communities.It seems that they do so to "look" progressive but in reality remain status-quoist.

1993 Mumbai Blasts - RSS Cadres were among the first responders. I know. I was there. With glass shrapnel all over my chest and face. An RSS guy helped me. Which was surprising, because of the narrative I was indoctrinated with - Sanghis are extremist goons. A decade later, while working in the US, I became friends with an ex-RSS man. According to him, the Sangh asks recruits to do seva for 10 years of their lives. All devoted to voluntary efforts - from helping during floods or setting up make-shift schools in remote areas. Yes, RSS has consciously been lousy at publicity. Yes, there are people who fear and loathe it. But I would disagree with Sri Bhagwat - please don’t indulge in publicity. Engage with the press to the barest possible extent. Press in India and in many parts of the world are more interested in their own agendas rather than facts or public good. Instead, have a couple of extremely mature representatives who speak sparingly on RSS’ behalf.

I am a sangh follower from my college days. Under Bhagwat ji it has made tremendous course correction which is commendable. I have many Muslim friends and they had no problem in my rss leanings.

What the RSS says and thinks today, we can hope for the BJP and the government to say and implement in a decade. While the details of the interview were quite good, I would respectfully disagree to call it as a 'progress' since there has been no change in RSS views and they have always been progressive and all inclusive. RSS was never against any community in India as long as they are not aggressive and adamant about their own religion. Congratulations on doing an excellent job, Mr. Gupta. The RSS Chief, Mr. Mohan Bhagwat, spoke very well, especially about the Indian minorities and their place in Indian Society. I must commend his thoughts about the historical perspective of invaders and their descendants in the present time. It's a breath of fresh air from an RSS Leader; I hope he walks the talk in implementing a thoughtful policy about Muslims in Kashmir. India can only have a viable future if it maintains its secularism and the basics of a tolerant society that offers equal opportunities irrespective of caste, colour, creed or religious belief system.

The fact that marriage equality case(same sex marriage) in supreme court will be taken up by Chief Justice of India himself, I am waiting for the kind of reply the govt will churn out. If their head Mohan Bhagwat sees it as naturally occurring phenomenon then idk what's stopping BJP from seeing it as such too. Ofcourse giving marriage equality to same sex couples also opens up discourse about divorce, inheritance and adoption but it has to start somewhere. All progressive societies need to evolve with time. This is not he time to bring religious restrictions on people's fundamental rights.

I was in RSS for 5-6 years from 2012-2017, left it when i went to college and now job. But still so many my core value have changed only of because of them…. Its not like RSS is against any community or cast or beliefs.. What it really teaches to anyone who joins them is a Culture of RSS. Ie ‘swam sewak’ self help culture to grow ourselves to the point where we are doing at least some good towards India as a nation. Being specific what did it really taught me… 1) Doing Basic Yoga later advance Yoga and also Yoganidra(best thing of my life, seriously) (2) History of India, contribution of different freedom fighters and their real story (3) Discipline towards life and goal in life (4) Maintaining Physical health with so many real exercises like Boxing, Danda, Kabadi, many many other games to promote team building and other valuable stuffs (6) Respect and dedication to do good for country like only using Indian products, cleaning our community pond, garden, river bank one a weakly basis, etc. (7) Playing musical instruments AND so many more can go on listing…. Still never once i hear any kind of propaganda towards any community or cast, had few Muslim friends as well with us, they too liked being there and growing Physically and mentally… If anyone still has any doubts about anything with what i said. I urge u to please join any RSS morning sang nearby you and confirm all that i said…
The only point I couldn't agree on with right wing was LGBTQ community but after today I'm with RSS 🙏. Alexander was only successful in fighting wars and couldn’t even maintain the land he captured, keeping aside the fact that he didn’t win India. His own men left him, so he neither was a good leader. It is heartening to see RSS's changing and progressive views vis-a-vis women, transgenders and LGBTQ community. What the RSS says and thinks today, we can hope for the BJP and the government to say and implement in a decade. So, there is hope that in the near future, we will get to see the legalization and more recognition of gay couples and even allow them to marry and adopt and raise children. It is a very important point that Mr. Bhagwat makes that homosexuality is common in various animals too and so is not "unnatural" by any means.

I must commend his thoughts about the historical perspective of invaders and their descendants in the present time. It's a breath of fresh air from an RSS Leader; I hope he walks the talk in implementing a thoughtful policy about Muslims in Kashmir. India can only have a viable future if it maintains its secularism and the basics of a tolerant society that offers equal opportunities irrespective of caste, colour, creed or religious belief system.

Ofcourse giving marriage equality to same sex couples also opens up discourse about divorce, inheritance and adoption but it has to start somewhere. All progressive societies need to evolve with time. This is not he time to bring religious restrictions on people's fundamental rights.

I was in RSS for 5-6 years from 2012-2017, left it when i went to college and now job. But still so many my core value have changed only of because of them….
Its not like RSS is against any community or cast or beliefs..
What it really teaches to anyone who joins them is a Culture of RSS. Ie ‘swam sewak’ self help culture to grow ourselves to the point where we are doing at least some good towards India as a nation.
Being specific what did it really taught me…
1) Doing Basic Yoga later advance Yoga and also Yoganidra(best thing of my life, seriously)
(2) History of India, contribution of different freedom fighters and their real story
(3) Discipline towards life and goal in life
(4) Maintaining Physical health with so many real exercises like Boxing, Danda, Kabadi, many many other games to promote team building and other valuable stuffs
(6) Respect and dedication to do good for country like only using Indian products, cleaning our community pond, garden, river bank one a weakly basis, etc.
(7) Playing musical instruments AND so many more can go on listing….
Still never once i hear any kind of propaganda towards any community or cast, had few Muslim friends as well with us, they too liked being there and growing Physically and mentally…
If anyone still has any doubts about anything with what i said. I urge u to please join any RSS morning sang nearby you and confirm all that i said…

Its not a carrot for liberals as liberalism in India revolves around caste and religion. LGBTQ rights were never in the focus of Indian liberals(just like conservatives)barring few exceptions. Alexander was only successful in fighting wars and couldn’t even maintain the land he captured, keeping aside the fact that he didn’t win India. His own men left him, so he neither was a good leader. Alexander wasn’t fighting for his people. On the other hand Chhatrapati Shivaji was a great administrator, leader and most importantly he created “Swarajya” - state of the people.
