I'd love to know a place you've visited that you found inspiring: a city, country, museum, restaurant, park...anything! By the way, more of Helsinki coming... 🇫🇮
You guys are inspiring! 😊 not only have you picked the best locations to go (I’ve lived in Inari, Rovaniemi and Helsinki, and have been to most of the cities you’ve been to - Next stop Philippines!), but your top picks and the way you share them with us are so much fun! It’s obvious you’re following your calling. Huge respect for your authenticity and life loving attitude 👌🏼
Thanks so much! That means a lot to hear ❤️Sounds like you love travelling too and that's cool you've lived in all those places. We're looking forward to sharing more of our time in Helsinki. Hope you have an amazing time in the Philippines! :)
karipatila this! Highly recommended. They had shop right next to the design museum which just closed couple of months ago. Theres another one in kamppi
Not Helsinki related but I love the British Library in London. The Moomins I remeber being on the BBC in the 1950s so they have lasted well and are still popular
What an inspiring way to kick off the new year! Fabulous video! You've found yet another place that we HAVE to visit!!! I'd want to spend literally all day (or more) thoroughly experiencing the Design Museum. I love the Moomins, too. I also LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the public library. It's so refreshing to see a public space that is all inclusive, family friendly, inspires creativity and knowledge. Wow! I was struck to see the beautiful Church of Silence. It's interesting and inspirational that the Lutheran Church teamed up with the mental health association to provide a space for silence, such a valuable commodity that can be easily overlooked. Very wise. Every place you featured, including your Airbnb, and the food you ate - everything in Helsinki- seems imbued with so much thought and love. This has been an all-around inspirational video, guys, and definitely one of your best!
Your comment makes my day, Linda! Thank you!! You clearly also felt inspired by this special Helsinki day. I knew you'd appreciate the Finnish design! And the library is OUTSTANDING. I can't believe how lucky people in Helsinki are to have such an incredible resource. Makes you want to CREATE. And, yes, our Airbnb was absolutely fantastic. Highly recommend! ❤️
Holy cow man, these videos make me feel SO PROUD of being a Finn. Visit the Finnish west coast sometimes, because of the closeness of Sweden, the culture is a thing of its own.
Hey Scott! The Moomin are everywhere around Finland and the world Tove created is beautiful. I loved learning more about them :) More of Helsinki coming with more cool architecture!
Outside the Nordics, the Moomins are the most popular in Japan, a long history there. There's even a Moomin theme park in Hanno, close to Tokyo. Moomins hit the 'kawaii nerve' :)
I've been to Helsinki many times. You two did an excellent job of capturing the feeling - especially the new things that have. Become a part of one of the loveliest cities in the world. Kiitoksia paljon!!!
You are so smiling and laughing, it's catching, and I smile this side of the screen too. I'm a Finn, but I've visited Helsinki only a few times when passing through for cruise ships. So I can't recommend anything there, and am seeing in your video places that I do not know, so it's interesting to me too. Helsinki is good for street arts and concerts, but in summer. A metal live music bar/restaurant there, that would be a Finnish thing. Watched a video of natural history museum in Helsinki, and it was pretty cool how they surrounded you with them animals and plants in corridors and rooms. And how in the displays animals were arranged like they were alive, walking in packs, predators chasing them and so on, with sceneries expanding behind them so it was more like watching out from a frozen, back in time window.
Hello! So glad you enjoyed the video and it made you smile :) Which part of Finland are you from? We've never been to the natural history museum but it sounds like an interesting place to visit. We'd also love to return to Helsinki in summer weather. I'm sure the city would feel different and it'd be fun to experience some festivals or concerts too.
@@EileenAldis Well, most Finns think summer is the season the climate is wonderful - winter is dark and cold, but summer is easy, not too hot. Although warmer countries' people I hear saying summer isn't warm enough. If you're into Opera, there's Savonlinna international opera festivals in a medieval castle, Pori Jazz is a big jazz happening (and not just jazz) and Tuska is metal concert, to name a few. I'm near Tampere. Big enough city there's not much need to go to Helsinki, and I don't have any relatives living there.
@@EileenAldis Ah, you meant to visit Helsinki, and I told you concerts in other places, too! In Helsinki, Tuska metal festival in June, in April ballet festival and Chamber music festival, in July Flow festival (indierock and world music). Then there's concerts next summer in Helsinki at least by Green Day, Judast Priest, Eric Clapton, Kiss, Kim Wilde and Celine Dion.
I'm headed to Helsinki (hopefully!) this year. I'm loving your Finland videos--especially this one! Thanks for giving me a little tour of some fun moments to look forward to on my own trip! :)
