My history teacher has a signed picture of this legend, keeps it on his desk and plays this song at the start of every lesson. I've had the sing stuck in my head quite a few times now.
My history teacher showed us a video of hasslehoff singing at the berlin wall in 89', we just finished the soviet union subject, today he gave me a donut lol (it was very nice) Were on the USA 1910-1929 subject now

I met David Hasselhoff at a coffee bean. (for those that don't know it's a coffee shop in California) all I remember is he was very friendly and he stood up to shake my head and asked me for my name. I had a hard time saying my name because I was blown away by how tall he is and his hands were huuuge he could have been a basketball player! I always thought he was so cool and then getting to meet him and find out how cool he was and how nice he was made him even cooler. I remember putting out my hand saying you're the Hoff and he stood up and grabbed my head and said yes I am and what is your name? Great memories.
He has always been a cool guy like that!

Actually, he was a very big singer when I was stationed in Germany. They couldn't get enough of him.
Was stationed in Wiesbaden from 2018-20 and travelled throughout the country extensively. I can confirm.

He was absolutely huge, I was about 6 years old when he blew up. My dad was into heavy metal and rock though so always looked down on David Hasselhoff enthusiasts :-)

As a history buff, I am sorely disappointed not to have heard this song until now.
Honestly what a hero! If you think about it, the Hoff not only reunited Germany, but he caused the fall of the Soviet Union, he literally needs a monument for his heroism. He will forever be a hero to Germany, Deutschland liebt David Hasselhoff!
