I'm 54 years old and I remember singing this song in school. We sang it in music class. I was in 4th grade and I went to a predominantly Hispanic school so it was what we sang to introduce us to Spanish as well as introduce the Hispanic kids to English. Wow, that was over 40 years ago.

I remember this beautiful song when I was in Ecuador and I was a kid, and didn't know a word in English. I used to sing "una paloma blanca" only. Now, I can understand everything and this is full of sense and poetry. The music has no frontiers!! Thank you for sharing these types of content

My grandmother loved this song and I remember her playing it when I was little and I would dance around the house with her. We played the slim Whitman version of it at her funeral in 1995.
