@26:42 There is nothing more comforting than to know that somewhere some place on this planet Steve is settling in his sleeping bag for his stealth camping overnight beauty sleep.
In vietnam, that “tent mosquito net” was what everyone sleep under. It works well, just has to make sure that you don’t lift it up too high and too long to get under. Basically making sure no mosquito get into the net with you.

Always picking up after himself and others, too. If everyone was like Steve, then camping would be a lot more freer. This is a thing that can happen. Culture can be built around promoting and exercising positive behavior.
I don't think such people have been adequately called out. If they had any of their buddies say, "Hey, wtf, man?!" enough times, or flat out refuse to camp with them due to their littering behavior, then I think we could possibly see this sort of thing minimized. Social pressure can be a powerful thing. Sometimes that's a bad thing, and sometimes it can be positive.

Good question about the beavers, Steve. I have seen beavers cut down trees upstream and float them down the river to their dam. Can’t say that’s exactly what happened there, but it’s one way they move surprisingly large logs. Clever critters… They really are nature’s landscape architects!

For those not in the know Steve's choice of "step two" is two Alberta stories in one can. Blindman Brewing is from Lacombe, Alberta and named after the Blindman River which is a tributary of the Red Deer River system in central Alberta. "Five of Diamonds" refers to the classic lure pattern from Len Thompson Lures which is also located in Lacombe, Alberta. This company has made 55 million fishing lures since they opened over 90 years ago in 1929. A Len Thompson spoon is a classic for a reason, a real workhorse piece of tackle for northern pike, trout and salmon. With an assortment of sizes and patterns of Len Thompson spoons and Panther Martin Spinners (made in Thornhill, Ontario) you can catch just about every fresh water fish in Canada.
To add to this, there is a giant five of diamonds lure as well as the Len Thompson trout pond in Lacombe to make sure you know it's the home of Len Thompson Lures!
I have to tease you, you said “you can catch just about every fresh water fish in Canada” so do just about all fresh water fish also visit Canada, and some get caught while there? If you have said: just about every KIND OF fresh fish, it wouldn’t have sounded like they all go there. Anyway, THANKS for answering the question about the meaning of the names, it’s all very interesting. I’ve only been able to visit Canada once, some years ago. Beautiful place! It’s definitely on my list of places to visit & spend much more time, when I finally get the chance! In one video Steve was collecting fresh clean stream water from a pipe: AMAZING! Someone carefully set that up & it was close to a road…Wow! There are some very good things in Canada, & lots of nice people!
Love it! 2 block from my house, I love walking down there with my boys and looking at all the old campsite posts and signage. Cheers to another step two!
No hiding from dogs when you are doing a mosquito fog, I suspect they can smell that. Sunset is prime walking time, Canada and places like norther Michigan or Wisconsin always cool down quickly once the sun sets.
Living vicariously through the stealth-camping of others, while seated on my back porch in metro Chicago, enjoying the light rain…waiting for the darkest hour of night…
Ever since I started watching your channel I think of you when I see a random wooded area off the freeway or simply anywhere...Steve might be camping back there all stealth.👍👍
Dude, if that’s in Edmonton you could set up a blaze orange tent and the hikers/ runners/ cyclists wouldn’t look twice. There are so many people camping in the parks and river valley.
There's a huge park by my house in Colorado and during lockdown I really missed camping and backpacking. So I made a ring in the park of old tree branches and then wove grasses and weeds into the perimeter to create like a natural fence. I thought for sure it'd be discovered, but for 8 months I camped there along the river. I even left an old tent and chairs there. From the trail it was almost invisible. Finally a homeless man moved in and I told him it's his if he wanted, and he still lives there
I think Steve knows it's not a big deal if he's caught. But it's sort of a game he plays with himself not to get spotted, so turns into a big deal in his own head. I totally enjoy watching these videos btw.

You just want them to get a little color on both sides. Then again I’m a professional chef. Either way I highly recommend it to those who’ve never done that to try it. You won’t regret it. Cheers!
Hello Steve! We're taking our Ford Transit Connect diy camper van named Wallis, after you, out for its first trip this weekend! It's been hard work getting it converted, but worth it! 😀 Looking forward to watching this video tomorrow (currently 11pm here in UK!)
I named one of my dogs “Stevie ray von Wallis” he thoroughly listens to his full name lol
3:30 UK here I'm ready to play tag 🤣
That’s so cool 😎
What a good dog, he didn't snitch on you.
Almost got skunked, great stealth skills.
That dog could smell...
@@thinkbeforyouvote
And, he could've really smelled if the owners don't bathe him regularly..sorry! Ha ha ha!
Goes along with that "I'm feeling" song ->
🎶🎶And I feel and I feel when the dogs begin to smell...🎶🎶
B C SURVIVOR,,
great reply.
12:25 - 13:30 literally has me dying of laughter in the hospital. thank you mr steve for the joy you bring to me during hardships
The most Canadian thing I've seen this week is Steve cooking burritos next to a beaver dam.
Same here. Ive seen a peanut stand, a rubber band and ive even seen a house fly but never a Canadian cooking Mexican food next to a Canadian beaver dam😊
And says it tastes just like store bought haha then says this is a lot of beans to eat lol
@@robertwilliams450 so, you're saying Steve was a little hard on the beaver last night.😏
I wonder if you can eat beaver?
@@alfredhatch3719 Well, you have to tenderize it before you can eat it.🥺
Getting rained on in the woods…”This should be downright relaxing”. 😂. I love this channel.
Surprised he wore jeans.
Steve impresses me the most by his ability to find his stealth camp in the dark. 👏👍 😄
One day we’ll hear “Look, hon! It’s “camping with Steve!” 😂😂😂
“Where there’s more mosquitoes, there’s less people” spoken like a true introvert 😂
I just love how he says that our areas may or may not be safe to do these things, depending on where we live, and to act accordingly.
Feels like an international shoutout to like minded people around the world!
Stealth camping is great fun, with a bivvy and a sleeping bag. Thanks for all the inspiration to try it!
Omg Steve, the look on your face when you hear someone walking by is priceless!! I can't stop laughing, you look like you are a thief in the night, trying not to get caught! 😂 Lol I love 💕 your videos!!! ❤️👍😀
Hears somebody off in the distance
Steve: 😳😨😯😦😧😲😮
Steve you genuinely seem like one of the kindest human beings I’ve ever seen. It’s been inspiring me to try and make changes in myself. Glad I found your channel I hope you’ve been doing better man ❤
I'm an ex SF man and I just enjoyed watching Steve so much as he is as close to stealth as a flash bang grenade 😂 great bloke 👍 a lot of fun..and he does rough it not taking the easy option 👍👍
The dog said That’s steve…. Better go home and turn on TH-cam … it’s going to be epic !
looool
The dog did a cameo appearance. Next he will be singing autographs next😁. Maybe try to sell the leashes and collars. Marketing would be like "as seen on camping with Steve "
T B YOU NAILED IT!!.
Thank you for cleaning up after yourself, Steve.I wish everyone did. I also enjoy your politeness.
"Its gonna come in one plop... Awwww, that looks rude." damn near killed me🤣
There's a reason why Steve is the best "out door", "bushcraft", "camper" on TH-cam...
It's cuz he's LITERALLY US
When I’m trucking around North America and I see a patch of woods,I now wonder if Steve is stealth camping in there.
Same, I used to look for deer hunkering down, now I look for Steve. lol
* Correction, "Steves"
Most likely is 😂😂
Dude, you’re priceless. Had a hard time to stop laughing when you pulled apart the velcro bag and made that “I’m busted” face. 🤣🤣🤣 “Velcro is not stealthy.” Very true.
Always picking up after himself and others, too. If everyone was like Steve, then camping would be a lot more freer. This is a thing that can happen. Culture can be built around promoting and exercising positive behavior.
Plenty of people pack it in pack it out, it is the others that wreck it for everyone sadly.
I think it’s safe to say that campers are the most aware people about our environment, they probably don’t need rules because they care about it
@@lukeferguson9236 I have done this a few times to strangers and it can get dicey. People get shot for less here in the States.
@@generalmartok3990 To be honest, I don't think I'd have the courage to call out complete strangers---lot's of loose cannon types out there. I wouldn't make a very good Klingon.
This was tense! Like, we could actually hear the walkers conversation! That camo sheet is perfect though!🤫
Nothing beats camo tarps!!!
Google it
Classic Steve, right down to the Mosquito Burrito, thanks for literally sweating bullets for our enjoyment. I can always count on you bro, I believe in Steve!
So relaxing, Steve is absorbing the anxiety for me.. Thanks Steve. Great content for the crazy world we live in.
Looters here in South Africa are literally stealing whole pallets of 4k TVs in broad daylight and Steve is out here sweating absolute buckets because a dog approached the stealth site! day made! great vid Steve!
I don't think it's suspicious for people to walk around talking into a recording device these days.
...he is definitely a 90's man ;)
I used to think, those people were paranoid schizophrenics, until I saw there equipment. (Ear buds etc.)
Yeah, you're right, but if their eyes dart back and forth suspiciously anyway ... they might be Steve.
Steve is the last man alive to camp at Klondike Valley Campground...lolol
Nothing says "refreshing" more than a 90° beer. 🤪
That dog didn't even alert them. This was a good one
Steve is quickly becoming a legendary folk hero.
I like how you capture the real life happenings like them hikers an dog rolling up on you. You DIDN'T EDIT it out. It's showing what it's really like to STEALTH CAMP.
Heck yea bud Steve stealth master Wallis keeps it real
A lot goes in to these large productions.
They say "Bigfoot" is the world's "hide & seek" champion. I'd say Steve is giving the old "Samsquantch" a pretty good run for his money, lol.... Cheers mate!
If only Steve did a stealthy with Ricky and bubbles
@@dubiesinjapan Don't forget Julian, Corey and Trevor. The more the merrier, but then i guess with that many people it would be kinda hard to be stealthy, lol......
@@rathgarredbeard4808 you’re right , someone’ gotta bring smokes lol

Good question about the beavers, Steve.
I have seen beavers cut down trees upstream and float them down the river to their dam. Can’t say that’s exactly what happened there, but it’s one way they move surprisingly large logs. Clever critters… They really are nature’s landscape architects!
Steve hiding behind that camo netting is about as Hunker Down as it gets! That should be his new channel art!
The dogs face
I say... when you're out "exploring" the surrounding area of the stealth camp... use a ski pole style walking stick... really gives the hiker look..maybe add a belt-canteen
Dude, you are living life to the fullest! This channel is fun and inspiring, and a healthy diversion from daily stress. Stay strong, brother!
I gotta say, I'm fuckn impressed with u Steve. I was the dumbass who commented a few years ago saying something like this guys just homeless....what a fool I was..u are honestly one of the few youtubers that didn't let the money get to his head.. I respect the hell out of u sir.. keep up the great work...
I love it when he believes he'll b in trouble if hikers "catch" him camping
Some people will call the cops on you
There are Karen's and Kevin's out there that will call on anybody and anything. People love to get involved in others business til it bites them back.
Blindman Brewing makes fantastic beer.
Holy shit I have been fishing with them my whole life (from Olds), I had no idea the history! Thank you.
i really like steve's voice... its comforting to hear him talk lol.. he would be great story teller
When ya think about it he his a great story teller ayyyy

Love it! 2 block from my house, I love walking down there with my boys and looking at all the old campsite posts and signage. Cheers to another step two!
Steve 🇨🇦 is just cool. Fans Worldwide watching him set up camp and we get to enjoy it with him. This is better than TV.
"Liquid heaven right in the palm of my hand!" Another instant classic quote!
"After dinner hikes for people that are healthy and energetic" 🤣🤣
Steve would rather cook burritos in the woods lol
@@kiely4561 BEAN burritos 😆
Dog is like.. hey is that steve hunkering down in there.. close call for sure..
No hiding from dogs when you are doing a mosquito fog, I suspect they can smell that. Sunset is prime walking time, Canada and places like norther Michigan or Wisconsin always cool down quickly once the sun sets.
There's so many people on that trail there is no reason for the dog to alert unless directed to.
Dogs like I swear I can smell Steve but he’s just so stealthy I can’t seem to see him haha
the part with the dog could totally be used in a number of video edits... the amazing ambience and feeling it provides is so unmatched
Living vicariously through the stealth-camping of others, while seated on my back porch in metro Chicago, enjoying the light rain…waiting for the darkest hour of night…
Thanks for giving me the opportunity to live vicariously through you. I could never do what you do, but I love watching you do it!
You're stealth camping so many times reminds me of my time in the Army. God Bless You. Keep it up!
I was thinking the same thing. Nobody would even notice another tent in this city.
Tip for the Velcro you can open it in a way no one can hear the rip by pulling it quickly while yelling
Lol but then they just hear you yelling
Passing gas will cover the velcro noise also. He can blame the dog for that if needed.
@@bentonlott6272 It's true, look up "Tactical Velcro Opening Secret-Special Forces"
Use buttons
use a zipper.
The dog knew it was Steve so he didn't say anything. Good doge knows what's up.
This is the way
There's a huge park by my house in Colorado and during lockdown I really missed camping and backpacking. So I made a ring in the park of old tree branches and then wove grasses and weeds into the perimeter to create like a natural fence. I thought for sure it'd be discovered, but for 8 months I camped there along the river. I even left an old tent and chairs there. From the trail it was almost invisible. Finally a homeless man moved in and I told him it's his if he wanted, and he still lives there
On my lunch break eating a bean & cheese burrito, while watching Steve eating his bean & cheese burrito. 🤣
Laughed all the way through this 😂 you are a legend, stayed when the rain came when many would have run “Velcro’s not your friend” finished me off.
😅🤣😅
I think Steve knows it's not a big deal if he's caught. But it's sort of a game he plays with himself not to get spotted, so turns into a big deal in his own head. I totally enjoy watching these videos btw.
I love watching his camping videos... I think partially because I like the camping stuff, but also simply because I like Steve, he is a very likable person. Steve seems like a kind, humble, and just a good guy!
I am so sorry that his beautiful wife passed away recently, that is very sad. Steve seems to be handling it with grace! I have been praying for you Steve, keep on keeping on brother! When I am able to save a little bit of extra money I want to send you some step two's, because you seems to really like those. They go hand in hand with camping!!!
“Tastes just like store bought” Lmao! Now you’re cooking with Steve!
Have to wonder if the local PD has a pool on who catches Steve stealth camping first.
They likely wouldn’t care. It’s one night. At most you’d likely just be told to leave either right away or first thing in the morning.
@@AveragePicker agree
There's lot's of homeless camps in the Edmonton river valley. A neat video would be, Steve camps in a river valley homeless camp.
Theres probably some police out there who like, subscribe and enjoy his channel, Id say at worst they MIGHT stop for a chat and ask for his autograph :)
@@marcusmckenzie9528 Yes. One actually commented that he's been a cop for 19 years, and the worst he'd do is say ' sorry buddy, you have to leave'
Let me start by saying I have been watching you for years now and are by far one my favorite people to watch. You are the Bob Ross of camping! I love how simple and tasty your meals always are, but I'm curious if you've ever gotten your cholesterol checked! I am 28 and used to eat enough for 3 people 😅 I found out last year that my bad eating habits caught up to me and my cholesterol was well into the range for having a heart attack or stroke, even though I'm not fat. None of my business, I just hope you can stay healthy and happy for years of more camping 😁
Steve you wonder why so many people follow and like your post?! It's because of how you deliver your videos? You're genuine with not a lot of hype....plus you look like a pretty normal guy!
