- DO NOT ATTEMPT unless you are sure about trespassing laws where you are! In this video, I was NOT breaking my local trespass laws, but this may not be the case in your area.
I found an abandoned gas station on our adventure, and it sure fits the bill for a stealth camping adventure. Of course I had to make sure the property didn't have any "No Trespassing" signs, because that would of course stop me from entering. It was an exciting night, really cool to see abandoned places first hand. A storm rolled through in the middle of the night and that made it an interesting ride back to the hotel.

Right?!! I'd be way too worried about serial killers, psycho clowns, axe toting farmers who eat human etc. to do a lot of sleeping. The first thing I would have had to do was set up a perimeter.

I found Steve's videos about a month ago and was picking n choosing, but after I heard about what happened. I went all the way back to Boondocking and have been working my way forward through the whole library. Honestly, this amazing man has helped me heal and find peace in a way that I didn't think was possible for me. I can only wish that he too finds peace and healing after this loss.
I come back to this video often.
It was my introduction to Steve about a year ago. To a first time viewer he looked completely insane doing this, but there was just something about him that made me stay. When he started talking about his beautiful wife picking him up I think I became hooked forever.
I noticed Jess on several comments threads thanking everyone for supporting her husband. What an unimaginable loss 😪 Sending Steve and his family lots of love and 🙏 as they continue to grieve.

It's also possible that the person caring for the property was evicted/fired and destroyed the trailer in retaliation. A lot of those holes in the hallway/doors look like they may have been done by a sledge hammer.
I absolutely hate to see that beautiful little gas station/restaurant abandoned. I would LOVE to bring it to life again!! I can just see that place hustling & bustling in the 70's & 80's. I bet memories are abundant!!

This is awesome. Great scenery, middle of nowhere on a windy day, hiding out in an abandoned gas station of all places. It's like zombie apocalypse survival. If the world ends I definitely know who will be one of the people to survive, namely you.
Jesus that bit where Steve's walking up to the abandoned trailer was like something straight out of a "found footage" horror film - especially with all the wind noise 😂 All it needed was for him to pop the trunk of that car and find some cut rope and bloody rags or something...

This place is by far the spookiest place Steve has ever stayed overnight in.
Idk man, forests are pretty spooky too, it's so dark and you're so vulnerable and there are so many noises. I'd love to stealth camp but I guess I don't have enough courage to do it

Lately im trying to get back to my roots and what makes me happy, your channel reminds me that the outdoors makes me happy, when hot weather or a disconnect from mother nature makes me feel otherwise. Thanks, from some guy who truly enjoys your videos.
For everyone watching: When cooking small bits of steak like that, you need to drain the water that the meat puts out when it's at it's max level, and save it for later. This prevents the meat from boiling/steaming which will ruin its texture. Let the meat sear a little on both sides. Stir the juices back in and use them to "deglaze" the pot or pan, and reclaim that flavor. Searing the meat and stopping it from steaming will more than double your flavor. I guarantee it.

Found your videos a couple of months ago and find myself binge watching. I've learned a lot and they take my mind off my chronic pain condition for a while. Love your humor. I really enjoyed your Documentary I watched yesterday. Thank you for making these. I had a thought that maybe you could bring a few lengths of folded up parchment paper with you. Then you'd always have a clean surface for your food, could use as a fire starter, or even toilet paper if you ran out!

@@campingwithsteve there was a previous video, i think it was the last overnighter in the old collapsible tent, last fall maybe where you had two animals go in your tent and out. It was the time someone stole your cheese. I couldnt make out what the animals were but i did put the times they went in and out. I had to set it to half speed. That is all i have seen so far so that is a pretty good record considering the places you have slept. lol

Anyone else envy his ability to be so grateful for seemingly mundane things? I wish I could be more like that. I'd probably struggle to be this grateful winning millions of dollars and here he is being super grateful that a door opens and closes in a rune down building.

Just start small. Find one thing you are grateful every day. See beauty in things you never saw before. At first youll feel like a bser and imposer. But eventually you will genuinely mean it and feel it. Lifes tough already why make it more hard. Also I just have better things to use my energy on. Good luck

For those wondering why random people are taking photographs of this abandoned place , at time stamp 2.27 you can see a dinosaur replica out the front. I'm gonna go out on a limb and suggest this site is in Alberta, somewhere near Dinosaur Provincial Park 🤔

I had once found an abandoned hotel in the US that was actually in pretty good shape (the rooms were and it was a modernized hotel that closed during the pandemic) and was tempted to camp out in tone of the rooms, but the one thing that always is on my mind when I'm in an abandoned place is who else might be there or might come back to the place (ie. homeless, gang members, drug dealers/addicts) so I'm not sure I could sleep in such a place (even what you have here) unless I had a fast way out and a good way to secure myself in an area.... This place looks pretty remote so you might be fine, but still it's something I've kind of "wanted" to do once, but always talk myself out of it. Maybe if I had a few friends to do it with me that would be different (as it's far less likely anyone would try to do anything if there is more than one person).
Have to agree with you. Steve already had a few people rocking up to the site, fortunately going on their way soon after. However, who's to say someone else isn't going to show up at some point during the evening, and what their intentions may be if they find you there. I'd be laying awake all night on tenterhooks listening for any sound in fear that anyone could come in at any moment. After all, you've found this abandoned servo and thought yeah, that'd be a good place to camp out, so quite likely others would have the same idea. They could be harmless, but then again, maybe not. 😰
@@joanneginever1890 Indeed. I could only enjoy this sort of lark (with trepidation) vicariously. He's careful and concientious, but he's had some close calls.
I wonder if it's a case of profound decency providing a protective bubble: Steve seeming to be such good people that he has guardian angels.
Or his genuine curiosity, lack of ego and all around appreciation for the world around him and the adventure it affords, creates an energy field that buffers him against less savoury consequences: he's never found, never confronted, never fined. And one hopes - if ever recognized - will be left to his own devices with a wink and a smile. 😲😀😉😊
Clearly he's not shielded from devastating loss, but (inferring from a lot of videos) he and his wife had a remarkably rich and rewarding bond. More fortunate than many.

This was a whirlwind of a video, like a horror movie without any actual monster. I kept waiting for somebody to jump out from every place you explored, then wildfires, then unknown stop in the road, & finally a freak snowstorm!

when he was walking around the abandoned buildings I kept expecting him to turn a corner and find someone there who was NOT happy to see him. this episode gave me so much anxiety.

@@t24hy44 They left because of the horrific and violent haunting they were experiencing. Luckily for Steve, not so much for previous occupants, whatever it was followed them to the next place so Steve doesn't have to worry
