My dad just retired from flying with SQ for just over 20 years and received his Long Service Award. I can attest to how her mother must have felt as well as the irregularity of your loved one being home. Everytime dad came home from a long flight (7-10 days) wearing his work uniform with his luggage, a sense of warmth and joy would fill the home, and it really makes you cherish the limited time we have with him. A heartfelt Thank You to all SQ staff for making Singapore Airlines what it is today, and in my eyes, the best airline in the world. 🇸🇬✈️ “.. & have a pleasant flight” 🤗
@Karen Yap, you didn't have to be so rude. He/she is just sharing his/her story, you didn't even have to comment on it or at least be less harsh. 😤 Edit: I noticed you've been commenting some other rude comments, actually stop. Another edit: So I just realised all the comments are just you spamming lmao, sad life.
My Uncle is also a steward from SIA and has been with them for more than 20 years! He recently got promoted to a chief and he still works very hard ! Occasionally, he would even skip annual gatherings like Christmas dinner because he's so passionate about his job. It really requires a lot of commitments and sacrifices !
Because of his hard works and sacrifices , and all other crews , it makes SQ as the best airlines in world right now , i remember when i was first flying with SQ , it was the best flight in my life , i instanly fall in love with SQ , thank you for all of great expirience on flight , ps : i'm not Singaporean
Greetings form Germany! Can I just say, I think Singapore Airlines flight attendants are just simply the best in the world. Nothing is too much too ask for, the kindness, friendliness and professionalism is always top notch, no matter how difficult it might be personally for some of them at a certain given time (you cannot have a good day everytime you fly, that's human). Cheers, love your beautiful city and wonderful people.
I think every job has their difficulties. Should do one story on security guards. I think it will open many more eyes. At least.. the crew can ‘travel’ after the hot mess happening on flight.. but security guards are bullied, disrespected, abused and has no power to do anything. Just my opinion...
Was a security guard for almost two years at a psych ward. I quit 3 years ago. I still have night terrors and sleep paralysis to this day. It's the worst job I've ever had. Also the worst pay.
My wife was an SQ stewardess for over 10 years and my dad was a security almost his entire life. What you said is Very true! People will treat stewardess and security guards very differently.
Hi all, thank you for sharing your experience as well. Personally, I spent 2 years in the military as a RP, thus I got a small taste of what these unsung hero and heroine faced daily. I am sure most people have seen an infamous news regarding the condo and security guard. I think it's a good opportunity to tell a story regarding these people that had worked hard but totally under appreciated.
I salute them for their work indeed. I used work in a private jet company and to witness a very small amount of passanger serving with high intesity which left me a better understanding that serving larger number of passangers isn't even easier. My advise to fellow passangers, it is very much troublesome them if you wish to pass the aisle when the meal is serving. And also please dont request food or drink back and forth cause the have their other duty to fulfil especially a short haul flight. We get what we want but it is not necessary to be greedy nor demand way above, just because we pay for our flight
I salute her and all the SQ crew. Was almost joining them but seeing many who doesn't have that will power to live through rigorous training with plenty of mental games within the hierarchy, i backed out. Showing that she and the SQ women and men are on a different level of dedication and commitment ❤
It's been 15 plus years since I last flew Singapore air and gotta say that today's Emirates or Qatar or Ethiad have no class against it when it comes to customer service. Absolutely outstanding! Class of its own.
I have great respect for the Airline stewardesses. I always wondered how they handled the jet lag and the lack of sleep on long overseas flights. It sounds like they just tough it out. These are great people who do a tough job with grace and a smile.
I fly SQ most of the time. And i find their attendants very friendly and accommodating, always ready to assist. It's not easy taking long haul flights like MLA-DUS (which is around 16 hrs flight time), but it's comforting to be attended by these lovely ladies and gents. Kudos to SQ.
I flew internationally with Singapore Airlines for the first time recently and it was the best service I had ever had on a flight. It was also the longest flight I had been on and I walked off feeling more refreshed than a short domestic flight. Wouldn’t fly again with anyone else 👌🏽
Don't know why but I come back to this video once in while. Maybe makes me feel that we are all supported by somebody else. Can sense that Ms.Ang is well self-disciplined which appears to be a very attractive person.
Please plan for a trip with Singapore Airlines once the pandemic is over. th-cam.com/video/Q3sdxuMIlAA/w-d-xo.html (Singapore Airlines cabin crew story)
This is crazy work. I never realize how hard is a work as a flight attendant until i flew long haul (12 hours) ... the crews walk around ALL NIGHT (apparently ppl cant let other ppl rest and keep calling/requesting whatever shits that cant wait till morning) and still have to put a smile and have perfect make up and hairdo ...
@@hafizlansbury im a doctor so yeah, i know a 48 hours no sleep in the hospital... 🤣 each has his own difficulty, but we have no.obligation to fake smile or to appear perfect, we walk with crocs and loose clothings and dont have to keep our make up in check lol
My favourite airline company. They are the pioneers of aviation industry. The cabin crew is simply awesome everytime I fly with Singapore airlines. I love their airhostess'. Keep flying Higher and higher! Amazing!🙏🌈🦋
What a beautiful and genuine woman who epitomizes world class professionalism. I always wanted to be a flight attendant but I don’t regret being a teacher.
SQ is the best!! I`ve worked with them, KL station. Being a part of Singapore Airlines company was special, and that moment will always have a place in my heart.
Not everyone can do this job. Respect. Above all, they are usually always smiling and warm. I'd be one hell of a cranky, sleep deprived and jetlagged crew member, if I even made the cut for the job haha
Another reason why it doesn't take much to be nice to any cabin crews, understanding the hard work they have to put in to ensure our flights are safe and comfortable. I know you might say well, they signed up for that job and why complain? My view is being nice to people doesn't cost much and make the world a happier place. With love and respect to all the cabin crew in the world....hang in there (I know many are grounded right now), we'll soon meet again on the flight whenever and wherever we're going!
Thank you for making SQ one of the best airlines in the world. Thank you for taking care of us passengers. Really really grateful. I always feel home the moment I step into a SQ flight. Thank you
What a lovely young lady..modest..classy.. hardworking..good luck to her for the future...( Have flown Singapore airlines several times myself..just one thing to say.. the economy class on board service from Thier crew.... and catering could beat business class on several carriers... that's how well trained and good they are!!!)
Tough job not just jetlag or graveyard flgt schedule but have to tolerate and handle those unreasonable, irritating, nasty and "crazy" passengers throughout the flight....worst of all if they are on same flgt with "crazy" senior colleague that like to tekan junior as if in the army.....don't believe go ask any of your friends who are cabin crew.....they will share the same sorrow stories/experienced. Pls remember to be nice to crew cos they work hard to make your flgt more pleasant!! Don't treat them like maid, nanny, porter etc etc
The perks of this role will always be a magnet for young people, so there is no point in talking them out of it. Parents will just have to pray that their love ones realize the true cost of the job, and don't stay in this role until they're past their prime.
Charmaine Ang, you are awesome that you can wake up at very irregular hours and had to be in airport in early days very often. I am sure in these 3 years it's not been very easy for you to become an air stewardess and plan your schedule in according to what you need to do at work and also how to enjoy with your family members at the same time but of course I know this is very exciting job because you get to travel around the world and get to know more new places you haven't been to and also really admired with what you have especially this job, I believe this is the best job you've ever had done in your life and hopefully for you to keep on flying and travel with more new adventures. Your Sincerly Vincent
And all this, remembering that we cabin crew are always mentally wired to handle any emergency in the air. Our days can be routine, but when an emergency does happen, we must be able to switch gears into another mode immediately to ensure our passengers are safe. Maybe think about that every time you see a cabin crew in whatever uniform. Think that in a ditching emergency, we know how to operate our doors, rafts, every safety equipment onboard, and most importantly, how to ensure your survival. Look at the face, and think about what that mind holds.
All our jobs are difficult. Be it actor, sales assistant in a supermarket or a policeman, doctor, chef. *just naming a few as have friends mostly in that line.*

I love travelling but not flying, especially long haul. Just something you gotta do to get to your destination. I wouldn't wanna be stuck in a plane all the time, but some don't mind. Respect to them.
Nice video which truly shows how hard the life of a cabin crew actually is. These people work so hard to comfort us passengers, while they struggle with jetlag symptoms. Much respect for them!
I would definitely support SQ especially if it is an international flight. The journey is so long n flying on SQ makes it more enjoyable. Hope the pandemic is over soon. Meanwhile, keep safe. Cheers.
I got a job in the field that i studied (design) and a few friend of mine decided not to, and joined SIA as cabin crews. Initially i was envious that their pay was much higher than mine, but 1.5 years into our career, i'm able to enjoy consistent work life balance, proper rest and time for my loved ones and hobbies. Their life seems super fun initially, high salary, travels around the globe with paid accomodation etc. Until the fun mindset wears off. For those who joined because of their passion in service, great. For a lot of them who joined because of the money or glam or free travels, they found themselves hating the job so much they dread work, and the only thing they do is complain non stop about how bad the flight was, how tired they always are.
the toxic comments here, well this video is not completely reveal about cabin crew full struggles & task. Beside of service (& travel privillege stuffs & all) they also need to fully know about safety, first aid, emergency, how to handle unruly pax or unmanner humans. Not so ugly duckling so true
Yup she could get run over crossing the road. Thays actually much more dangerous as its far more likely than having an accident in air!

Cheesecake factory in the US is famous for their main couse not just cheesecake.
They have to adjust their sleep schedule. Jet lag very tiring to their body.

Singapore Airlines are one of the best
Well, it's more than just a "couple hours" of flying time between Hong Kong and San Francisco.
I noticed a lot of Asians - be it indians, singaporeans, malaysians say ‘couple’ but use it to mean ‘a few’ rather than 2

How are these words difficult? Sixth graders are familiar with such usage
Massive airlines comes with dedicated stewardess, SQ best of the best
SQ does not come with full sporean workforce, it has to rely on foreign manpower, otherwise it wouldnt go this far with today's achievement.

@3:15 only couple hours from HK to SFO ? That sounds like a fighter jet speed.
Time Zones. Was common on Concorde to arrive BEFORE you left.
