About the group:
Kim Tae-hyung, known professionally as V, is a South Korean singer and a member of the band BTS. Since his debut with the band in 2013, V has performed three solo songs under their name-"Stigma" in 2016, "Singularity" in 2018, and "Inner Child" in 2020-all of which charted on South Korea's Gaon Digital Chart. Outside of his projects with BTS, V appeared in the 2016 television series Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth and contributed the single "It's Definitely You" to its soundtrack. He released his first independent song, the self-composed "Scenery", in 2019. In 2023, V made his official debut as a solo artist with the release of the singles "Love Me Again" and "Rainy Days". His debut solo album Layover was released on September 8, accompanied by a third single, "Slow Dancing".

V filmed FRI(END)S in the UK and it was directed by an award-winning British director named Samuel Bradley. Also his love interest is Ruby Sear who was in the Netflix series called the "The Gentlemen".

Someone pointed out that in the second set of scenes the woman is still putting him in the friend zone. Notice how she barely even interacts with him. I think both parts are happening in his imagination. So your idea about the main message is spot on. Our view of the world is wholly dependent on our attitude within.

So glad you’re back!!! Even if it’s intermittent with work & travel, we’re always happy when you bring us one of your breakdowns 💜 you’re spot-on about the message at the end! Whether either versions that came before are “real” or not, there’s no “happy ending” unless he can first learn to love himself, living with himself. of course there’s the saying that you have to love yourself before you can really love (and accept love from) others, but there’s also the saying we all die alone, which hits me with the dual death scenes. We have to make peace with ourselves, because we’re the only one we have by our side every moment of our lives until the end.

WAIT! for you to see RM's four music videos from his latest album Right Place Wrong Person. "Lost!" was even just recently selected for viewing at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. You might recognize the directors of "Come Back To Me" and "Lost!". Though "Domodachi" actually the one I'm most excited about hearing your opinion/analysis, because it makes my brain itch in the best way and I feel like I have several theories. The last one is called "Credit Roll" and it is extremely short, but also telling (especially if you look at the lyrics too).

11:05 You caught that funny moment when he completely disrupts the proposal. I don't know how, but some reactors missed that. (They blinked?) In the behind-the-scenes video, we see his facial expressions and gestures close up there. He is so totally done with all these people!
I see a man who has a nightmare early one morning. His subconscious tells him, "Wake up and acknowledge your current situation. Your life is miserable! You should feel miserable." Still dreaming, he decides he doesn't want to start out his morning feeling miserable. He decides to re-dream his dream and change each scene to make it happy. Alas, even his happy dream ends the same way! Then he actually wakes up. "Am I really awake this time?" he asks himself. "Yeah," he answers himself. He wakes up to the realization: his life isn't a lovely dream, but it also isn't a nightmare. His life is life. He's alive!
And then, being Taehyung, he breaks the fourth wall to give us a disarming smile.

That was an excellent reaction and analysis. I think you are totally right about the ending - Love yourself first. Two things you didn't mention were the number of mixed age/race/gender couples in the restaurant scenes (the video was tailored to include absolutely everyone...) and the fact that this was released shortly after he enlisted for military service in SK might be a relatable timing cue for many young men... 🕊😇💜
It was filmed here in the UK a lot of it at the Ace Cafe in London everything not in the 'Flat' (not Apartment) and a local small Shop in London. There's plenty of behind the scenes footage.

Fun fact about the casting for the music video... they wanted real couples especially ones that looked alike... the Indian couple behind V in the diner talked about how they were cast.

Yes, the final scene is a metaphor of him being in the internal conflict of crossing the lines from friends of years to lovers, the two V's at the end represent the two outcomes, at the end you will have to love yourself whatever decision is made you have to love yourself first.
