    Yes your right about not telling anyone your problems... when I got married my husband said anything that happens between us we will sort it out ourselves. Alhumdolillah I've been married for 13years and not a single day have I discussed anything with my family members.

    Getting married is a really serious thing, getting married to the wrong person is really dangerous, the pain is really serious, many people has made this dangerous decision and they have suffered the pain really bad, getting married to the wrong person is like offering yourself and life to be seriously damaged.

    Yassss! You hit the nail on the head! Absolutely, above all, find someone who supports your mental, spiritual and physical wellbeing. Us women work so hard to be there for others that we cannot forget to put on our own "oxygen masks" in order to be the healthiest we can be. I commend you for learning this lesson early in life😊It took me well into my 30s to start "getting" this

    Alhamdulillah you didn't uphold alot of responsibilities towards your husband. In our Pakistani culture most husbands expect alot from thier wives in terms of cooking and cleaning etc. Its very difficult working fulltime after marriage and coming home tired with the expectation to cook often and uphold conversations all the time whilst living with in laws. I don't mean to sound harsh to anyone, but I would not recommend to live with inlaws. It's better to keep privacy of personal issues in a home where no one can hear your confidential conversations. It will also give you the reminder to focus solely on the marriage and can be healthier for future children to live separate without a mother feeling judged upon her parenting skills. I think the main thing is you have to make sure you are happy and your mental health is in the right state. If you are being abused in any form or tried to solve something major which is not resolving it is best to speak to your family in that circumstance before it gets too late. There are so many things I can say the list is endless because there is so much to be learned.

      So sad for the women especially id the men never cooks and cleans and makes the women do it and don't help like some men do.

    • @InshasChoice
      @InshasChoice 5 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Yeah, our generation doesn't tend to tolerate bs whereas back then it was more submissive. I had this conversation with my grandma and she bought into perspective that while it doesn't seem ideal to live with in laws, you gain lots of skills and know how to deal with different situations. You don't have to live long term, but yeah you always have a choice. One issue is that women tend to drive men away from their family, that's just a generalization and doesn't apply to everyone - you always get the good and bad..

    I agree with many of the points mentioned here but disagree on some points. I think one of the most important things to look for in a spouse is their relationship with Allah. A husband who supports you regardless of whether its opposing our religion isn't one to seek. I'm not saying this is what the sister is suggesting but didn't feel it was stressed enough.
    Surely we should seek a husband who will encourage us to become better servants of Allah. But sadly we are falling into this mentality that's spreading across all societies that we should be supported according to how we feel. Or we feel we need to fight this stereotype that non Muslims have of Muslim women. It doesn't matter if its right or wrong according to Islam.
    Secondly in Islam women are ordered to serve their husbands. Husbands have an important role such that their is a hadith
    'Abū Hurayrah (raḍī Allāhu ʿʿʿanhu) reported that the Prophet (ṣallallāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said, If I were to command anyone to prostrate to anyone, I would have commanded woman to prostrate to her husband' .
    Tirmidhī, Ḥasan Ṣaḥīḥ
    But the man also has a lot of responsibility and accountability as a result. He must also serve the family. And he will be answerable for his family in the hereafter. Seek the one who cares about your hereafter as he/ she is the one who truly loves you.

    I think sharing housework equally is a good thing when both husband and wife works, but what about when the woman is a housewife, isn't it her job keeping house clean and cooking dinner if husband provides for her and works all day? I think this is where all asian and arab "women's place in kitchen" mentality comes from. Obviously I dont agree when inlaws push themselves in or use wife as slave and make her cook for everyone..but when hubby is out wife at home I think it is equally shared if wife does the jobs of the house.

  • @nadirafarhan7355

    Good for her that things worked out
    But I definitely wouldn’t encourage getting married so young as at 17 you are still developing as a person and you still need to learn and grow and develop as a person before you can dedicate yourself to a marriage truly

      Nadira Farhan everyone is different people lead a different path. I know a lot of 16-20 yr olds that are maturer than women that are in their twenties. Yh guess it’s the qadr of Allah.

    • @nadirafarhan7355
      @nadirafarhan7355 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Sabrina Samples
      Yes everyone is different and I agree with that point.
      But my belief system is that we need to encourage the young generation of women from our culture and religion that the only goal shouldn’t be to marry.
      I want my daughter to experience life be that through education or work , live life for herself for a while and enjoy exploring life and becoming a better person ,
      Because once you have children a decent mother puts her Childrens needs first.
      I do not know this lady who runs this you tube channel so if she is happy at her age to childcare and do chores then as I said good for her.
      Personally I would like my daughter at age doing more then chores etc
      There is a time and place for every stage of life and I think to lead a fulfilled life you need to experience every facet as much as you can.
      I married young my self so I am speaking from my view point.
      And not to cause offence but I do find it difficult to understand when someone at 17 says they knew ‘ he or she was the one’
      At that age what exactly are you basing you judgement on ? At the age you have hardly and life experience to make that judgement, even legally in this county at 17 you are not even considered a adult.
      But I respect that fact that we all hold different opinions, I was just expressing mine.

    I dont think i knew who I was at 17. I was a lost soul lol. So i dont think everyone knows who they are, that was a big generalisation and for me marrying before I had any idea about what I wanted in life any relationship would have failed...

    So if the guy doesn't cook and the woman feels it's not her responsibility. What then lol. The reason I'm asking is I know someone who thinks she shouldn't do anything house related. But keeps quiet when her mother in law cooks and cleans up after her. And btw it's not like they're loaded to afford a maid. Eeek!

    • @kam7898
      @kam7898 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Well then a compromise has to happen between husband and wife. Not just the wife. It shouldn't be blamed or put on her

    • @12tahminas

      I don't know but in this day and age I feel like there are some women who use islam in their favour to do near to nothing, a man has to provide all the essentials and islamically a woman doesn't have to lift a finger. I think if a man and woman have love and respect for one another they should understand within their capabilities who should take what responsibilities that fit within their lifestyle, because every couples lifestyle is different.

    • @kam7898
      @kam7898 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@12tahminas I agree with the second half of your comment but I also disagree with the first point. Hopefully you don't mind me offering my opinion because I assume this wasn't in response to me but the original comment. I think it's actually the opposite. I find especially being South Asian that men use Islam and culture to justify not doing anything to help with the children, chores, cooking because they work even when the mother is also working. I think it's a little unfair to say women are trying to get away with not doing anything when men have been doing that for years. Hope you don't see this as a negative response but rather just a different perspective? :)

      Kamilah Ahmed to be honest , both men and women use and abuse their rights in islam & cherry pick things that suit their nafs thats 1. 2, it really comes down to the person , ive heard of many girls who have struggles like their man not being helpful enough or asking her to work and contribute the list goes on.
      both men and women in todays time are lazy and too opinionated to lift a finger. Men would be working and use that to just abuse his wife , women would act like their daddies little princess who cant grow a pair and do what shes got to do.
      Im heavily pregnant i have 5 weeks till birth & i have an 11 month old , if it wasnt for my husband id be suicidal alhamdulilah he knows how to help snd not expect his the one begging me to put shit down and not do housework if im tired or in pain.
      it all depends on the person, im my mothers daughter but she had it very different, having to raise me and my brother on her own because my dad worked so hard never being their to help or even be there for our important events..
      so when she heard of me being pregnant so soon after my daughter she was terrified as shes so scard from her own experience of raising two youngsters alone.
      Ive seen both sides of the situation where a man abused and where a woman abused its both bad..

      T S I agree. I mean if both husband and wife are working then both should help out with chores. If the man's working and paying the bills whilst the woman's at home it would be nice of the woman took care of the house. I speak for myself first. If I was in a position where my husband was working and I'm at home then I would clean and do some chores. Reciprocate.
