A lot of mutants have mutations that aren't really suited to fighting sentinels
You mean Choir, who just has extra mouths on her neck, isn't suited to fighting giant, laser-shooting robots? Color me shocked! 😂
Like Mole, surprised we haven't seen him yet.
Not just a lot, 70% have no combat ability whatsoever. Then you have Gamma level mutants like Sabertooth, Mystique, Wolverine that have combat ability that still wouldn't have helped them against that specific sentinel, like what would Beast have done to fight it? That leaves Alpha and Omega level mutants, like Gambit, Rogue and Magneto. We know Rogue isn't strong enough to live through an attack by it, same with Gambit. And Magneto one of the most powerful Mutants alive or to ever live couldn't beat it. There are no mutants on Genosha to really be able to effect it. The X-Men are at home, the Brotherhood isn't there. And the Inner Circle's second most powerful member Shaw died in the attack. Emma Frost the second most powerful mutant there after Magneto doesn't have a power that can work on a robot. This is also the event in comics that gives her her second mutation of diamond skin that ends up saving her life. I expect to see her on the X-Men by season 2.
And 99.9% of mutants aren't suited to fight THAT sentinel anyway....
Magneto was barely suited to fight that Sentinel. What is Glob Herman supposed to do?
15:19 It's nice to see fans who DON'T know Cable is Nathan Summers. It kind of makes this episode hurt more.
In the comics Gambit is also able to touch Rouge eventually by using his powers to build up static electricity forming a shield against touch based powers.
Gambit was technically supposed to be an Omega level mutant but had surgery to weaken his powers when he was young so he could have better control.
In the comics Scott had a telepathic affair with Emma frost (the blonde woman in white) which they have a nod to by having Emma smirk knowing what's going on with Madeleine and I Scott mentally.
She is taking the Idea and is going to use on scott later

xmen is at its best in soap opera mode.
We seriously didn't need all the fighting and a genocide. The drama is already entertaining enough. I could watch an entire season of Emma throwing shade.

I swear, the writers deserve some f**king awards! Especially the deliveries of Magneto's quotes throughout the series! He said things that made you want to side with him because it made sense when he said them
The writer/show runner wrote season 1-2 and we still don’t know why but they were fired.

Well...kinda. The series began BEFORE they revealed Cable was Nathan. It was only in the middle of the series that it was revealed in the comics.

"Love is measured in what we forgive." - Nightcrawler. Gambit immediately and without anything in return completely forgives Rogue for breaking up with him, leaving him to live in Genosha, and for choosing Magneto as her partner. This whole episode calls back to lines people side in previous episodes.
I remember how awesome this show was on Saturday mornings. I was so ready to wake up and watch them. Never did I ever think it would return, or did I think at the age of 46 I would be in tears from a cartoon…….what an episode. New fan here, great reaction to this. Can’t wait to see more with you..
Denial is a stage of grief. We all went through grief watching that episode.

Mutants started appearing en masse half a generation after the era of Atomic Bomb trstimg had begun. But there are a few mutants who had existed centuries in the past.

Omega level mutant has undefinable upper limit of power for that mutant classification... The other mutants in Genosha were fighting they just couldn't do anything.
About what you said, All these mutants and no one is trying to take it out? Gambit had a line where he said that people were trying to attack it and it wasn't working, they were ending up dead.
And as someone else said, a lot of them have powers that aren't suited for combat. On top of that, even if they did, a lot of them aren't trained or used to the pressure of this type of situation. It was going to be bad no matter what.
This was the best episode!
I want Gambit back and for all the Gambit slander I want new sun Gambit.
Rogue has been and always will be my Favorite X-man, X-Woman, lol. But I swore she figured out her inability to touch others in the Original Series, love her, but she needs to see there is far more to intimacy then just the physical! I Can't think of a time Gambit didn't think or her first!
I know the current social climate over sex and gender is a confusing change to how we have labeled something for millions of years, but the context of the X-Men using the word man/men isn't based on it's definition as a sex/gender thing but a play on Mankind or the concept of all humanity, all humans. And Mutants are Ex-mankind, hence X-Men.

Yeah, in the comics Jean went by the alias of Marvel girl in her teen years then after the dark phoenix she took on the name phoenix and now she just goes by Jean Grey. Jean was really mad at Scott for Mentally "cheating"on her with herself.
I'm sure "Marvel Girl" sounded cooler in 1961.

It also killed fucking Jean Grey. The most powerful mutant alive. Emma Frost is MIA the third most powerful telepath. Sebastian Shaw who's power is absorbing Kinetic Energy to increase his physical strength and durability also died instantly. Angel a first class X-Men that gained the powers of Apocalypses also dead. Banshee a well respected mutant of decent power, dead. Nightcrawler an X-Man, knocked out. And then yeah Magneto who put up a hell of a defense "died" protecting the Morlocks. People just don't get how bad this is. Short of all the X-Men being there under Scott's leadership this was an impossible thing. So bad, so horrific, so terrible.
Although Rogue is very strong. She’s not considered an Omega. Jean, Storm and Magneto are the Omegas on the team.
Do you only retain what you see do you not listen Gambit explains what happens when other mutants attacks the sentinel & even showed several mutants laid out it the aftermath!!!

This episode is partially from the story arc of Extinction when practically ever mutant was on genosha
What most people forgotten or don't know Jim Lee was one of marvels top artists in the 90's...he created Gambit, Omega Red, redesigned the outfits of Cyclops blue and yellow white the straps over the shoulder, Rogue with long hair, high yellow boots and the bomber jacket, Xavier's hover chair and co created Magneto's acolytes and the 90's version of Sabertooth's outfit.
The original story if I'm not mistaken the link was bonded with Emma Frost during the time Jean was gone away exploring the galaxy with the Phoenix.
We only have one Jean Grey now...Maddie was vaporized.

@@erikstrothers2679just read that info. I have a hard time believing someone as powerful as she is, not only would not have sensed what was about to happen. She most certainly could have shielded herself with a mental shield of some kind. Wonder is she will actually come back after death like Jean has before. 🤔

I could be wrong but I think the blonde reporter type woman is Mystique...
So I understand the confusion here, and many people have thrown out that what we saw on X-Men ’97 was a Tri-Sentinel, as it has three heads. That is not a Tri-Sentinel. As noted above, it is a Wild Sentinel Master Mold, hence the genesis of this article! As of yet, the Tri-Sentinel has not appeared on X-Men ’97 or X-Men: The Animated Series.
So what is a Tri-Sentinel? It’s pretty much what it sounds like… Loki took three Sentinels and magically mushed them together to attack a power plant, only to be stopped by Spider-Man. It has three faces, six arms, and a bone to pick with Spidey in particular.
To be fair, a Sentinel with three faces is the clear inspiration for the Wild Sentinel mentioned above. But they are different things, so there you go.

Cable has always been Nathan. I don't know enough about the comics to know why he couldn't come back before he was an adult (but I think in the comics someone else brought him to the future, not Bishop, so it's probably a different reason in the show anyway).
Time travel, reincarnation, resurrection... there are a ton of ways in a comic book universe to undo a death. But do we really want them to? As much as we all want Gambit back, do we really want death to be meaningless? At the very least, I hope we have a few episodes before that happens, and that getting him back requires a severe cost of some other kind.
As for Magneto, a lot of people are banking on the "no body, no death" trope. The most popular idea I've heard so far is that Leech, whose power is to cancel out other mutants' powers, drained Magneto; with Magneto powerless, the Sentinel no longer registered him as a mutant threat to attack, but he still lives. I guess we'll have to find out...

The open question, that nobody seems to care about, for me is : where has the real Jean been in the whole time when Scott was together with her clone ? Was she imprisoned by Sinster ? I don't think that was ever said, and nobody even asked 🤔🤔
And ok, there was the answer to my comment from Episode 3, you indeed still didn't knew that "the baby" would become Cable.
Cable has always been the son of Scott and Madeleine Pryor its Canon
Cable can't go back. He would be happier back there with his parents. But something always goes extremely wrong in the 90's and Cable is always bouncing back and forth trying to fix it for the better.
Emotional damage - The Episode
As for why the Inner Circle is here... surprisingly, it's nothing nefarious. They're rich, and they want to lead a country. For once, they didn't no anything.
I think they still on the 90". So they're not thinking about doxing and mutants are still new to the world.
The original story Rogue met Magneto when she was a teenager... it's been a while can't be certain though but I think that was around her age range or her early 20's

First time seeing one of your vids. Obvious you’re not an X men fan or prob not even a real marvel fan but yeah Jean and Logan had relations as well as rouge and magneto. All i can say is please do more research when it comes to xmen comics as well as whatever movies/shows preceding this to have more insight on future marvel projects. I promise you that I’d you try to learn about the history of marvel and all the comics that preceded the mcu and made it what is is you’ll be more mind blown Ed than you know. I only say this cause i know you have the potential based on your beautiful energy but also cause it will bring you a sort of entertainment that comes off as mediocre to the typical/basic too the basic audience.
So Yeah I’m not saying read all the comics but watch other TH-camrs like “comics explained” to give you better insight. Cause unfortunately the people spending their time watching reactors like you are more likely to dislike and get upset about your ignorance on the marvel universe. Nothing is really set in time whe it comes to the marvel. people come back reincarnated or rewritten and your theories will be way more mind boggling than you think. Also don’t fake your reactions cause i can tell you knew things “canon” before hand on those “rules” you said you missed but really you’ll see it all makes sense(if you took it seriously. If you don’t care bout how relevant this series is to not only the mcu but cinema in general then please focus on somethin you’re rally passionate about and not what will get you more views/ 23:47 money

Cable's future and past is so interconnected with Sinister/Apocalypse that he basically cannot has no control because the future he went to so he could be saved by the virus meant he was stuck in a future run by Apoc and Sentinels... it's all convoluted.❤

I hated Scott in this. His rant - him "losing control" - felt so out of character.
My problem with the original X-men cartoon remains - it's always felt like a pale reflection of the source material. Yeah, Cable is Nathan (Christopher, not Charles, after Scott's dad) Summers.
Cable's "Not again!" makes me think we'll get timey-wimey and Gambit will be back by the end of the season.
Cyclops acts more like this in comics. You're finally seeing the real Cyclops.
Uh his son is gone, even Scott can lose it under those circumstances.
