The eyes changed from the Omega targetting green to basic red when Gambit charged. He succeeded because he was underestimated. And he CHOSE not to be an Omega. His humility defeated the Wyld Sentinel.
Also Moira mctaggert too. She wasn't a mutant but she was there and they confirmed she was among the dead. One of the greatest human champions for mutant rights snuffed out

You actually saw Banshee being vaporized as he was trying to fly away. Moira is seen as one of the dead bodies as well, she's also later revealed as a mutant in the comics too As for Madelyne she was shown as one of the dead bodies. When I originally watched this episode, after it ended I just stared at the TV...jaw dropped. I couldn't believe what I watched 😂

Magneto trying hard to go the high road and getting kicked in the face for it. Him having to break the promise to leech. The flashes of his life of injustice done to him and mutankind up to the last and earliest.the holocaust. Magneto was so well written. I dont like exactly how he handled his revenge... since he basically said. Well fuck all humans and mutants except 3. But yeah. I hope this ep gets its Emmy. It is well deserving. Xmen97 was the best tv show in years. Including live action

Please know the writer, a gay man of color from Florida, wrote this episode with 9/11 and the Pulse queer nightclub shooting in mind. So there are many layers of meaning here. He also pitched the entire season centered around this episode.

The other two bodies that were next to shaw and moira were squid boy and dazzler, madelyne was completely vaporized in the first blast
