In X-Men The Animated Series in the 90s, Cable went back in time and kidnapped Wolverine and managed to make an antidote to destroy a virus that Apocalypse made. Before destroying the virus, Cable said : “The names Cable, remember it, Apocalypse!” Coincidently, Cable's first appearance in X-Men the animated series was in Genosha when he first met Gambit who escaped from the Slave Island. The visual imagery baked into this ep was a masterclass- The statues at Genosha of Charles and Magneto, clearly someone would have used mutant powers to craft them, and how they came into play in the fight later. First we see the large, noticeable cracks in the foundation of Xavier's statue, a metaphor for the inherent flaws of campaigning for change through strict pacifism. Then in the fight, Xavier's statue isn't just destroyed, we're pointedly shown people being killed when it collapses- it shows us the cost of lives as people are crushed under the weight of his failed dream. -Of all the things of metal Magneto could have used to attack the machine after his flashback, he picked the Train. The idea of a man, a Holocaust survivor, using a Train, the tool weaponized to aide in exterminating his people, as a weapon against a second genocide, was genius. -The hints of afro-futurism in the designs of the city streets in the early portion showing solidarity with similar scenes from the Black Panther movies was a great and subtle element of highlighting a non-euro-centric culture that did a lot of world building without words.
Man, this episode was something else. Talk about a hard 180! We go from soap opera drama to the weirdly damn near sensual dance with Rogue and Magneto to the genocide at Genosha. WHY SO MUCH AT ONCE!!!

This episode was the best so far. I must say the show is doing a great job taking me back to the nineties too. Rogue and magneto dancing to Ace of Base....you dont get more 90s 😆
I hope through art like this ALL people will make positve action to make the world & communities better! GET INVOLVED
This episode was insane on all fronts! ...and that Ace of Base track playing! Oof * chef's kiss * 🤌
What an episode man Not my boy Gambit 😢 Rogue pulled a Wanda with that last line #JusticeforGambit 🃏♥️♠️♦️♣️
Dark Cyclops arc incoming... and I'm here for it. The man is sick and tired of the bullsh*t. Magneto Jr.😭
This is how you make good television. Just incredible. To make a cartoon has such a heavy feel and emotional aspect is master writing. This and What If are how Marvel needs to work their live action films as well. Just unreal
The visual imagery baked into this ep was a masterclass-
The statues at Genosha of Charles and Magneto, clearly someone would have used mutant powers to craft them, and how they came into play in the fight later.
I still can't fathom what the eff happened and it's 10 hours since I saw the episode
Man, this episode was something else. Talk about a hard 180! We go from soap opera drama to the weirdly damn near sensual dance with Rogue and Magneto to the genocide at Genosha.
WHY SO MUCH AT ONCE!!!
Btw the song is "Happy Nation" by Ace of Base
So many layers, feels. This episode was beautiful, powerful, and heart wrenching
I've always considered Wolverine, Nightcrawler and Colossus my favorite X-Men trio. I'm always happy too see the latter two in anything (Wolverine is already in everything).
I think Cyclops becomes the new Magneto after this episode because he’s is finally fed up
This episode was incredible the Xmen 97 team knocked it out of the park again!!
"Hab Keine Agnst" Never forgetting those words. Ever
I watched this episode 3 times already and seen a few reactors. All great!!! I just realized when Wolverine and Jean are talking…he says”Nuff Said” what a great Stan Lee call back.❤
I did not have X-Men '97 going peak Game of Thrones on my 2024 bingo card
The wild sentinels and the massacre of genosha
"Jerry! Jerry! Jerry!" LMAO!!! "This episode is rated, 'Oh, yeah!'" LMAO!!!! THANKS for this!!!! Wowowowow.... :(
Five episodes in and I'm still in awe over how beautiful this show looks. The animation work is stunning as is the voice acting and writing.
