The carpal tunnel syndrome must be crazy. I don't get why pokemon runners don't use turbo a/b buttons... There's skill to mashing but it doesn't make the run any more interesting, is terrible for long term health and is a serious obstacle for new runners. Turbo to clear menus would probably save less than a second across the whole run, and could have its own leaderboard to satisfy purists. It just seems like some silly macho pain endurance thing to me
Look at the splits on the left side of the screen. You’ll see if he wins any time as compared to his personal best or world record times. I haven’t watched yet but probably he got lucky with some critical hits or avoided some 50/50 lose or win scenarios :)
@837 There's several differences in Pokemon and Routing for the two games check the poke wiki if you really want to understand the difference between the two runs
if u could trade to get tm/hm moves for squitle for fr/lg what would those be?like trade it to a completed game and teach it all the moves even the ones from tutors and trade it back ?
LeafGreen is preferred because Sandshrew is available as a Cut/Strength Poké. This difference only comes into play if no Rattata/Nidoran is caught before Mt. Moon. FireRed goes for Paras as a backup cutter. Paras has a worse catch rate and can also status Wartortle. There are no other significant differences, f.e. the former WR was on FireRed.
Finally sub 2h, insane dude, gg!
That last 5 minutes was intense. 😮. Congratulations 🎉🎉🎉
Watch the video at x2 speed, no thx .
Long time coming. GGs!
that bite flinch on bulbasaur clutched
Like they always say, 23,412th times charm!
Youre hitting GOAT status.
Lost like 2 seconds or 3 fighting the gym guy before Brock going for tackle rather then bubble.
Congratulations!

Carpal tunnel can be treated with a few physical therapy sessions it’s not that deep lol
@@MultiSneakerLover pls dont comment if you obviously dont know sh*t
Awesome! A WR is quite tough to achieve, let alone sub 2hrs
Pewter city gym was clutch
Congratulation For This Amazing World Record ! 😸 🐙 🦑 👻 🙈
Congrats man!

Congrats!
Congrats! This will definitely not be beaten until at least 7/24/29!
Im here to prove you wrong!
What happened to the splits? They disappeared?
wow congrats!!!
Quote me on this: this run will not be beaten in the next 10 years.
obviously wrong
oh its shiru
I just beat it but I forgot to record it whoops
Maybe in the next 5, but I'm unsure about the next 10
Ok will do
as someone who doesn't understand but loves to watch speedruns...what made this run beat the previous WR?
This is going to be the speed run that summoning salt hypes up as the first under 2 hours
early game Misty's split

Is there difference between running LG or FR?

Trades aren’t allowed in Pokémon Speedruns. It’s a pretty stupid rule tbh
Sick
Is there difference between running FR or LG?
it seem like the version doesn't affect his run so likely it is just his personal preference
@@peppykippen was just wondering if theres some pokemon that are better for optimizing

@@caterknees Thanks! 🙏 exactly what I was wondering about, tysm!
gz!!
how is it possible to have such a powerful squirtle?
Getting the right RNG seed. Basically you restart your game until you get a good Squirtle
Good work 👍
What device is this being played on?
GameCube using game boy interface
damn i didnt remember the music being gen 3 trumpet cancer like this. my ears are bleeding
I agree, not a fan of gen 3 ost personally
@@pokeguy pokeguy you cant be saying this
@@Landofwolves666 sorry shitru
Based and true
OMG unexpected
What emulator is this?
Why does a world record video only have 400-500 views?
Community size I guess. Maybe never run on gdq or esa?
For the same reason a Lvl.41 Blastoise is faster than Blane's Lvl.42 Rapidash. Rare.
because there’s no cam or commentary (pokeguy pls)
How can it be possible? Nature, IVs, EVs?
@@Rooxie973 One would hope.
how does this count as a speed run when you didn't complete the other region ? Game has two Elite Fours.
Yeah definitely not a full game run. He didn't complete the Sevii Islands.
After you beat the E4 and the screen goes white thats when you beat the game. Everything after that is post-game
The end of the run is marked when the credits screen appears
