When I took watercolor painting classes, I was always taught to use 3 shades of a color for a tree, for example, but never how to mix colors to get those 3 shades. It was always " buy the light, the medium, and the dark of a color" and just paint! Thank you, Shibasaki-san for showing this old man how to do it properly! Bless you Sir!

ドレッシングという表現がとても腑に落ちました。色で立体感を出すつもりが不要な部分まで塗ってしまって、全体的にのっぺりとした絵になってしまいがちでした。塩加減と同じように塩梅が必要ですね。
That is great! It looks not so complicated I thought before :) I used to be afraid of mixing colours. But now I can see that having olny six colours you can paint such an interesting lanscape. Thank you for explaining the secrets of art.

Very instructive demonstration of mixing of greens of different shades and depth, comparison with salad dressings drives home point so well. Based in the UK we see greens only a few months of the year, so going to try painting green outdoors before winter descends...!!! Thanks for upload....!!

Mr. Shibasaki, i like how you make it look so simple and loose. I am having a hard time painting in a loose style from a photo reference. I tend to do very detailed painting which takes me hours and hours. Thank you for this video!

Yes, mixing colors is a challenge for me too. Yellow Ochre is the "least" used color in my palette. It is such a muddy color but now I know to mix it with blues to get my greens. This tutorial is very helpful.
