A well-made tank can remain in service for fifty years or more. Eventually, though, they reach the end of their service life and need to be retired. After that happens, they can end up abandoned in some unlikely places. In some cases, they end up in those strange places long before their time is due.

That man had a permit to own the Panther, he used to drive it and clean the roads of snow in the winter, people came and visited him to see his underground museum, the way they took all his stuff infuriates me.
Obviously, they were worried that he planned on invading Poland again triggering WW-3
They also damaged the panther, fixed it with unoriginal parts then gave it to a museum
They were afraid he might actually defend Germany against the Syrians.
Dragging that panther ruined its transmission, that was painstakingly repaired from the original vehicle. They didn’t care enough about a historical artefact to just put it in gear:(
Ce faci mai ceska
"90mm AA gun" yo chief that's a 76.2mm M1 gun
[Edit] Holy sh*t this comment really blew up... wtf
Captain Breaker i wass gonna make another complaint on that but id probably start getting some hate haha( that still makes me laugh, anti aircraft gun hahahahahahah)
haha! aa? wtf?! I suppose he thinks a t-34-72 has an 100mm PAK?
He said it also had missiles inside
@@peterwelch5691 The 90mm was, indeed, an American AA gun, and was adapted to be used on tanks, notably the M36 tank destroyer and the Pershing. Always good to be correct before disparaging others for their errors.
Actually Yea, and its not 76.2 mm its just 76mm, only the t34/76 was 76.2 mm google it! I know I'm gonna be talked bad to for this, but oh well.
"This German M3 Stuart..." wut
M3 Stuart is a U.S.S.R
M3 Stuart is american
Cristian scanu you're very much correct it was an American light infantry support tank used in the north African campaign and then later replaced by it's big brother the Stuart rhino
Spenzer _ it’s American
Sage Ruf Your right the Stuart is an American tank
Sherman tanks did not have:
"A 90 mm anti-aircraft gun"
"missiles"
That gun is not "fully functional"
Shells were not stored on vehicles being transported.
Other than that, this video is some what not inaccurate.
There was Sherman with a missile on top the Calliope I think it was called Sherman's were perfect for experiment but the 90mm anti air gun is false never heard of any shaman with that
@Spector Ripper The calliope (that was correct) had an enormous rack across the top (similar to the Russian katyushah rocket truck) and didn’t have a 76mm gun like what was shown in the photo. And the 90mil is totally inaccurate for a Sherman
@@sargecronus2131 to this day idk what we were thinking with the Sherman but why did he say 90MM Sherman how does some one mess that up
Might have a mistake with a Pershing?
Doubtful tho

@@brucekaraus7330 it was actually a tank that was finished after the british captured the factory, then sent brand new to england for evaluation and testing. after they did their stuff and didn't have any more use for it it was destined for scrap metal. the guy bought it, got it shipped and restored it in working order. hardly a german property at that point.

Did you really just call a sherman tanks ammo “missiles” hahhaa whaaat!!!!
Bulletproof Diesel It’s legit to use the word. One of the several dictionary definitions of missile is “an object which is forcibly propelled at a target, either by hand or from a mechanical weapon.”
Oh, i didnt realise that, ok sorry i though missels were different from tank shells, thanks for that.
@@peterwelch5691 Some tank shells did actually have rocket propellant
Mikko Collins no, they didnt, if they did then bullet drop wouldent happen. And they would cost a whole lot more, the military wouldent drop the money for that

And the ship it was on was sunk in the Bering sea by the germans??
@Robet mowie 90mm gun would make it an M36 tank destroyer, which was based on a Sherman chassis. Dunno about the missiles, though.
@donnie brown He said Barents Sea, not Bering Sea. The Barents Sea is north of Norway, on the PQ convoy route to Murmansk and Archangel.
The M3 90 MM Cannon is both an Anti-Aircraft gun and Anti-Tank gun, His use of anti-aircraft gun was still very much correct, though to my knowledge Shermans only used 75s, 76s and some had 105s
