      Kevin 747, that’s the limit of real rick’s vocabulary, he posted the same thing to me, it should have fired up ok, they had the original “4 wire” engine loom, and a computer made for it, I didn’t see any “4 wire” charge circuit wiring on the alternator, nor any “4 wire” oxy sensors, it would have taken ages to fill those oil lines on the remote oil filter, so it would have been better for it too have not started straight up.

      I am doing the 4.6l swap into my own 66 mustang on my channel. The holley system only needs 3 or 4 wires hooked to it. But from the holley computer, its all plug and play for the rest of the engine.

    I need help with my harness and I think this guy went out of business. I can't afford the $800 and up cost that places charge for this or the holley system. Can someone help me with figuring out how to do this myself? I have a 99 mustang gt as a donor vehicle so everything is there. It's going in a 93 mazda b2200 truck.

    I don't see any value to rebuilding parts unless they aren't readily available. Yes you save a little money but how much is your time worth? Just like changing your oil. Yes I know how but by the time I get all the stuff, dispose of the used oil and add in my time it's more practical to pay someone.

    • @AFXGaming
      @AFXGaming 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not really.. if the filter and oil cost 20 bucks and an oil change costs 70 then it's worth it to do it at home, especially considering for the 70 you can buy a better quality filter and oil than the cheap stuff mechanics commonly use

    • @bmstylee
      @bmstylee 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AFXGaming yes cheap oil which still isn't $20 for filter and oil so stop talking out your ass. If your car requires synthetic like a lot of new cars it's $6+ a quart. Or in my case that's 8 quarts of 0w20 x $7 = $56. Assume even $5 (which they cost more) for a filter and it's $61 plus tax. And you now have 8 quarts of used oil and filter to dispose of properly. A dealership oil change at Chevy is $65. You can't tell me my time isn't worth $4. And no toxic chemicals to dispose of and it includes a tire rotation. Seems a good deal to me.

      At least doing it yourself you have the confidence it was done right that should definitely be worth your time. Just saying I've seen some dumb ass shit when it comes to something as simple as an oil change, for instance Walmart changes ur oil they don't remove the drain plug from the oil pan unless requested because their so called (technicians) strip them so often they've opted to stick a suction tube down the dip stick and suck out the oil.... That is no bullshit....

    About the 10 si Delco Remy alternator. I get it. You don't have time to tell the whole story on testing the field, the stator, the rotor for shorts, opens, grounds and resistance along with the rectifier bridge and diode trio. You pointed to various electronic items like the rectifier, diode trio and the regulator and were vague in your principles of operation. Honestly if you could you should have done a complete trouble shooting of the different subsystems in the alternator and made it into a complete episode and if you had time add a starting motor rebuild but you are not a tech school and if a viewer want to get more in depth they should go to a good trade school.
