Changing the size in windows 11 is not possible, but it is now with wind hawk. This little app lets us change the size of the taskbar and the icon size.

Thank you so much. I have been looking for something like this for ages. I had a mod earlier that could do this but then my laptop broke and when I got it repaired the mod no longer worked. This makes such a difference to my focus because I found the big icons in the task bar so distracting.
Thanks man, for the video. My biggest issue with windows 11 so far was actually the taskbar size, that you couldn't make it smaller anymore and even the registry edit didn't work anymore. So for a while I was using Start 11, which does give you the option to make it smaller, but I had various issues with the software. So now I just typed in "windows 11 taskbar smaller" on TH-cam agian, sorted by upload date, to see if a new "trick" came up. And this here is PERFECT. Hopefully Windhawk won't make any problems over time, but so far it works great!
The Taskbar should be customizable in the new build of Windows 11.
yes. absolutley ridicolus that you can't change the size anymore. You could before by a registry edit, but they even removed that option!!! Sometimes I wonder on what planet these UI devs from Microsoft live.

Thanks for all your fantastic Video's Brian, and don't bother all those negative people or comments, a dutch proverb (translated for you) is "one ear in, one ear out". Keep having fun making your great tutorials, many people can learn about those and you do a great job in the way you explain a lot of things in a very clear way, that is a gift not all the people own, maybe some comments will feels to be negative but it's about the way the comment are written and may be not meant to be negative, just filter the comments you like (people who explain their way of doing things, 'there are many ways to approach Rome') and whose you don't and just ignore them. So keep up the good work on your fantastic tutorials, I like them! 👍

Just finished setting up my Windows 11 taskbar with Windhawk and it's GREAT! I only used 3 mods which were perfect for me. 1) Resizing the Taskbar. 2) Disabled Grouping. 3) Closing open folders and programs using the middle mouse button.
What's even better is, I added Windhawk to Task Scheduler to run at Startup with highest privileges and to run whether logged on or not. Now when I start my computer the mods are injected even before logging on.
And get this! By adding *-exit [-wait]* to the Shortcut's Target box, Windhawk will load at Startup and quietly exit in the background *after loading the mods.* It's like Windhawk is there and not there at the same time. 😉👍

I don't know how to add to Windhawk to Task Scheduler, and I also want to add "-exit [-wait]" like you said, but I don't know where and how to do that exactly.

I know how to put an icon on to the taskbar but how can I put an icon from the taskbar in to the 'hidden icons' behind the up arrow icon? Yes, it works for the 'expanded' section on the right-hand side but not those on the left or in the centre. I've looked in the Taskbar Notification area but the icon I want is not listed.

That’s a cool application. To go along with it there are a couple of channels that show some registry hacks that will align the start menu to the left like it was in XP and to get a proper menu when you right click items. Good lookin out with that Key Vendor that sponsors you. I was hesitant to use it but need another pro license and it was painless. Thanks

I have an issue with Asus Tuf F15. After clean installation of windows 11 on standard Mux Mode (integrated graphics) my external graphic card RTX 3050ti showing as removable media. I try to reinstall the driver but nothing happened.
Had to go back to windows 10 with the iso video you did i was getting black flashes on windows 11 and microsoft edge just would not update just kept asking for permission.

I don't change it for the size. I change it for funktionallity so that I can get all the settings that i had in Windows 10. I use Explorer Patcher from Github. Rightclick context menu can alsow be fixed, and let the taskbar not combinding icons. I love that program.

Will the icons "stack" if you made the height triple size w/small icons? May sound crazy, but my Win 10 taskbar is 3 rows of icons which autohide. Thanx Brian 👍👍👍

Hi... I'm facing a problem with windhawk. After any windows update it stopped working. Takabar icons becomes big. Then all of a sudden its solves automatically. Is there any way to do it manually?

Thank you. The regedit did not work. This did and restored my sanity to resize the taskbar.

I like and liked always only the default setting of Windows 11 and all another versions of Microsoft Windows, only the default settings are the best for ME.
I was expecting a customization using the own windows tools not a third party sw....anyway...thank for your videos and tips!!

Mate it'll be helpful for me and many more if you suggest "how I can run utility (CTT- Can't run without admin privileges) and debloat everything as user account same as Admin account"
I mostly create user account and use it rather using actual Admin account.
Or any other suggestions to debloat user account and remove non essential programmes and background processes would be helpful. Cz windows just makes another fresh copy when you creat user account (non admin)

Nope.. What's the issue???
@@raula.8881 Everything is fine with the taskbar, just the date is cut out a little.
@@GHXST6-9 Right click on time (or just normal) you just need to go to date and time management window.
Check you selected correct time zone.
Click 3rd option- Internet Time
Click update and wait.
See if correct date and time has been updated as per your time (selection of region is important)
If not, change the server in the same window and try again.

It is stupid that this is not possible in Windows 11. In Linux Mint you can adjust this by defaukt.

This should be a basic setting in Windows 11. Just like placing your taskbar at the top, left, and right. Just like in previous versions of Windows. And why they introduced hardware compatibility with Windows 11. God knows. Understand me Not bad, Windows 11 is an improvement over Windows 10. The settings are closer together compared to Windows 10. More user-friendly. Just like in macOS or Linux. I have been using Linux for more than 20 years. I can do that with a little work in settings to look like Macos without installing any software. I hope they add those two simple settings in an update someday.

That Yee Yee Ass [actually, BIG FUGLY ASS] Taskbar on Windows 11 is annoying af. That, and the shitty Context Menus like wtf that is sum bullshit.
Two years ago, the day I literally unboxed my XPS 13 Plus, and saw that horrendous Taskbar, and even horrendous Context Menus [they look dope but work like shit], I literally, instead of setting up my device and importing my data, created a Windows 10 ISO, clean wiped it, and clean installed Windows 10.
Am using the Small Taskbar, and I just love Windows 10. Not going to 11 anytime soon.
Only if Microsoft gave us Small Taskbar, and fixed the shit Context Menus.
Rather than just hyping stupid AI shit half the people don't even care about.
