I would recommend enable the setting that pauses the live desktop when there is a foreground application running. It has a big performance impact when running while gaming.
To those who have a problem with the half taskbar, choose the task bar alignment to center & then on the right corner of the margin space there's 3 dots. Click it & then u'll be directed to the advanced margins. In it, top & bottom margin = (1), outer & inner margins = (-170). Then the corner radius should be somewhere less than 50. Hope this helps!!
In case someone is having the same problem I was having. When you open the wallpaper in the application. I was having a blueish tint over the background. I figured the issue and how to solve it. When you customize the image, there is a setting for post-processing, uncheck that. It worked for me.
You can also use similar themes with Wallpaper engine, Wallpaper engine is a better alternative because it's very customizable and can be automatically stopped when you put any program in full screen mode

Crazy thing is I used these types of programs in the early 2000's. I used to even make them sometimes. Not only do you risk malware infections, and screwing up your registry key settings, but no one cares what your desktop looks like at the end of the day. The risk is not worth the reward. But it does look nice.

The only thing that doesnt quite work is the roundedTB, when I centre it, it only shows some of the icons - i.e. it doesnt expand enough to show all of the apps pinned to the task bar. Not sure if I missed a step, any one know how to fix it?
I recommend using taskbar xi instead, it won't make your taskbar round, but it will be transparent. RoundedTB has stopped working and hasn't for months now, it probably won't be fixed.
whats your ram, cpu, and gpu increase from running all this in the background 24/7? Is there a significant increase? I used to run a program called "windows blinds" back in the single core
I cant speak for the guy who made the video but hopefully my numbers can help you. Pre installation my pc would idle at 1-2% cpu usage, right around 7-8gb of ram usage and 0% gpu usage. Post installation im getting 1-3% cpu and 7.5-8gb ram. So these programs appear to be very light on cpu, However my gpu now idles at between 5 and 8% usage. personal specs are an i7-13700k 32gb ram and a Radeon 6800XT.
@@SnakeFire3 very good to know. One of the benefits of modern PCS with the massive horsepower compared to single-core PCS back in the XP days is you can run stuff like this with hardly a dent.
@@jstagzsr You can simply enable the function of turning off the live wallpaper, while the screen is focused on another app, which greatly reduces PC usage in background. The other apps don't use much power either way.
@@SnakeFire3 thanks for sharing. What about your Win 11 startup time? Have you noticed an increase post installation? I'm not referring to last bios time but generally loading windows, do these apps run seamlessly with the OS or is there a delay and loading when windows starts?
@@darkslide_x no change in startup time that I’ve noticed. And the programs all take effect maybe 2 seconds after logging in. So right after you log in there’s a bit of a flash as it replaces your wallpaper and taskbar. But after those initial couple seconds it’s seamless, although it’s worth noting if you have a second monitor the taskbar can no longer appear on both displays.

Thanks for this, I only installed lively wallpapers and roundedTB and I'm fine with how it turned out. Also I was able to tweak lively wallpapers settings to keep it at minimal CPU and power consumption. Thanks!

Since most of the stuff didn't work I used tranculet tb and taskbarx to make it feel like rounded taskbar and I used different rainmeter skins since I couldn't use the one shown in the video
As a professional I rather have my desktop useful for my tasks to do them as efficient and professional as possible rather than "oh it looks professional", am I the only one thinking like that? :)

The most professional desktop look is the default windows look. That's what most offices and workspaces are using. Also, Rainmeter chugs battery like there is no tomorrow.
As cool as this is, you might as well get a mac for this kind of look. I wish you can show us the CPU usage for the live wallpaper to get a better idea

my fix for roundedTB was to click on advanced and click the 3 dots that appear on margin box. then put a custom value for outer margin and inner margin, use a negative value though. I have mine set as -150 both inner and outer. works for me
RoundedTb is also not working as it doesn't show the Win start menu when it is centered I tried to make it left and then center and still the same issue.
For some reason when i left-align the taskbar it works perfectly but when i choose centre, it cuts off the start menu and search bar at 7:28 in the tutorial.

hey, so when i try opening the downloaded file for the mii power rainmeter skin, it asks me which app i should open it in. I tried several of the optional apps it gave me but it opened onto a document with strange writings. I cant open the downloaded file for the backup link either, as both show up with the same result.
You can use Deviant Art for attractive widgets & Rainmeter software to customise everything you've seen here, but I won't recommend installing any of it, it will slow down system start-up, higher usage/consumption of RAM & also may face System crashes problem a bit often if your system is Low or Mid end PC.

I tried this but the taskbar is too small, the search field for example is not fully visible and the blue windows icon is not visible at all.

90% cpu 75% memory and 40% gpu on desktop idle after initial boot.. cpu idles at 89c LOL

no it doesnt🤣, he shouldve put windows 11 in title just to be safe cause when it comes to rounded taskbar fo windows 10 there seems no way that we can just put all the icons aswell as start button and so on to the center...

I recommend using taskbar xi instead, it won't make your taskbar round, but it will be transparent. RoundedTB has stopped working and hasn't for months now, it probably won't be fixed.
