Those Accurate Miniatures kits were simply the best out there at the time and they are still magnificent kits today. Awesome build as always by the way.

SBD-5 was last used on the U.S.S. Enterprise and the Essex class U.S.S. Lexington. It was preferred by many over the SB2C Curtiss Helldiver. I prefer old Monogram 1/48 pilot figures and cutting tools for a landing gear up version.

Academy has come a long way. Last time I built one of their kits was late 80's and they were terrible. Might have to give them another go by the looks of this.
I just got the Ju-87 Stuka from Academy.
Quite a few eduard special editions are academy iirc, just built the academy tomcat and its a good kit

Looks like old AM kit. That would explain only having lap belts for pilot. Early SBD 3 like TBD and F4Fs only had lap belts. sBD 4 &5 would have shoulder harnesses. Nice build

I started building planes (two Lancasters) in 1/72. But now I'm looking to go up to either 1/48 or 1/32. I might get this kit, as the SBD is one of my favorite WW2 aircraft.
