It is funny when youtube forgets that is not 1. April 😂 The first uploaded version of the video did not have sound, and the quality was only 360p. The best was that on my PC was sounds ok but on my mobile phone not so much 😢 Thanks for the info and comments that reuploading is neccesty. I hope, now is all fine. At least it looks like that.
Interesting, because I was waching it and had no problems with sound or quality, just got only to the half of the video and then it was apparently deleted.
Once again you have provided modelers worldwide with powerful inspiration and a multitude of modeling tips and techniques for construction, finishing, and weathering scale model aircraft - and in this video some great insights into successfully working with photo-etch!! Please accept my sincere thanks for this video and all of the videos on your channel. I've been butchering styrene for almost 60 years and I always learn something to improve my modeling when I watch your videos. You are an indispensable resource for the scale modeling community!
Go for it! Remember, you don't have to make it as high-quality as PLASMO does. I'm personally not a big fan of the painting part of modelling, but I love building the kits, so I'll often just give my kits a basic single-color coat of paint once they've been built
I started in 2020 during quarantine when I had nothing to do, and it has now become one of my favorite hobby. I would say to start with a cheaper kit like an Airfix, and start small.
Utterly speechless! One of my favourite aircraft of the era and you've utterly knocked it out the park. To think the sheer amount of detail you've put in at 72nd scale I would love to see what you could do with a similar build in 32nd scale. I can't wait to see what you have in line next. Hands down best scale modeller I've ever seen!
No one tells the modeling tale better than you. And your results are outstanding. Your calm approach is very reassuring, it makes me think I may have to dig up some of my old kits and get busy! 😁
inspirational as ever. I started making models when I was 7 in 1993.. by the time I was 13-14 I stopped. I did a few in my 20's when I was on a downer and lonely. It brought me great joy. I then started back after seeing you videos 2 years ago. I've only managed 4 models. But really love it when I have the time to get into it. Thankyou for bringing back my childhood. I'm crap at it. But I find it extremely therapeutic.
Joe Smith I am 55 and back building models. We are our own worse judges. Do not underestimate your abilities. The only thing that matters is the journey. I have a very high stress job and I find it therapeutic, as well. With each one I get better and I try new techniques. Well, I like to think I am getting better and that is all that matters. Denial is wonderful thing. Haha.
WOW!!! You took this plain Jane kit and made it into a super model. The PE additions with the excellant weathering show us why you are one of the best. Great job!!!
I never had the desire to weather my models as I liked the 'new showroom' look. I very rarely make comments but after watching this video of he Avenger . . . . . absolutely awesome dood. You clearly have an eye for the colour combinations etc, which i don't as i'm slightly colour blind. The time and dedication that you've clearly submitted to this model has most certainly paid off. I think I will be watching more of your very well presented videos. I will buy some cheap and cheerful models and just start by playing around. You have been most inspirational to me, thank you
Likely the most realistic weathering of a fuselage and wings I've ever seen. The salt wash was very effective. Posting a follow-on video of the results of the Avenger global build exhibition would be appreciated by all.
Former Navy here. Dad served in the Pacific, and taught us boys about the carrier aircraft he vividly remembered. These models put you back in time in the '40's, so incredibly realistic. War's dirty grungy look...
Once again l am amazed at your talent and attention to detail , my uncle flew this plane in the Pacific , l think he would have loved to see this , he helped me build my first model , Tiger Tank .
I built the Hasegawa TBM-3 straight from the box back in about 1997 or so and i can appreciate how much extra effort you put in to bring this kit up to contemporary standards. Beautiful job!
Beautiful. You sir are the undisputed youtube king of 1/72 scale planes and tanks. You're treading into museum quality in such a small scale. Would love to see you do one of airfix's 1/32 cars.
Dude, your work is incredible. You make the Avenger look so realistic, that one can honestly see it take off from the deck to go kick ass. Much love and respect from the US. Bonus fact: A former US President flew in this plane during WWII. His name was George H.W. Bush.
The detail and weathering looks amazing! I love the light gray oil paints on the blue paint to give that salt water aircraft carrier weathering from the sea
I love how when he says "minor modification" he really means im going to make this part so detailed that you cant tell the difference between the real thing. Absolutely Incredible
And just look at the detail you get out of a kit this small , You Sir make build a kit look easy but I know that you put a lot of time and research in to building your kits your skills are over the top and your builds show it thank you for another build you Sir are at a different Level on Building Kits thank you for letting us watch and learn from a True Master at work.
The Aircraft model is so beautiful.so excellent, it too elaborate, it too meticulous... Reminiscent of America's heroic history in WWII...Thank you very much. Wishing you and your family good health and happiness.
Very nicely done, as usual. That was a lot of P/E. I've found that lately when I do an extended session with CA glue, I get one hell of a headache from all the fumes. I did a 1/48 SBD Dauntless about 20 years ago that had the complete radio system between the pilot and rear gunner. If I remember correctly it was an Accurate Miniatures. Those radios seem to add a little to the human side of things. Very well done.
It looks fantastic. I lost track of where the actual kit went with all these upgrades but I guess it’s in there somewhere. As usual it was most enjoyable to watch.
Really ....I 've never seen an avenger as perfect as this one .By far the best on internet....and in 1:72 .The paint is awesome but the greatest idea that contributed to the perfection of the result was the thermoformed canopy.
excellent work, I really liked the finish and the quality of the details, and I was wondering if one day you would build a Top Gun F-14TOMCAT, greetings from Mexico
Love the way you weather aircraft. I work with them myself and notice a lot of people don't realize just how dirty they get if they're not cleaned religiously. Even when they are, you can always look up inside the gear wells and find a healthy coating of oil, exhaust residue, and hydraulic fluid.
I saw one of these in person a few weeks ago, and every time I see one I am struck by how big they are. for a single engine plane, the avenger is huge.
By all that is holy, and by many things that aren't, you are a true Master. Have you considered making a series of affordable "How to" Masterclass DVDs for people to buy?
Another great build. The photo etch really brought the old Hasegawa kit to life and the weathering only added to the weather beaten look. You mentioned that you recently bought the Tamiya scribing tool I have one and it is a good investment. There is another scriber called Mr. Tool narrow scriber (I believe that's the name) it has a smaller blade that would be easier in tighter areas. Keep up the good work, looking forward to your next video.
I built the Accurate Miniatures version in 1/48 a year or so ago. The detail in that kit from the box is insane. However, you still did a better job in 1/72 than I did! Lol
An aircraft I have been wanting to do, for my US carrier aviation (World War Two) project. As you had pointed out in the beginning of the video the available kits are all quite old. The Hobby 2000 kit was unknown to me and I had pretty much settled on the Academy kit from 1996. I will search for this one. Awesome work sir...as usual
Parabéns pelo belíssimo trabalho, impressionante a habilidade do Amigo, quanta paciência e empenho e fazer essa verdade obra de arte! PARABÉNS Abraço aqui do Brasil 🇧🇷

i thought my headphones were broken beacause there was no sound🤣
Thought mg earbuds were not charged 🤔🤔😆😆😆😆😆
Interesting, because I was waching it and had no problems with sound or quality, just got only to the half of the video and then it was apparently deleted.
Looks and sounds great
I had Sound on the first one. Very weird
This man is so talented that replacing an entire component of the model is only a “minor modification.” Great job

May people would struggle to get this much detail in a 1/32 scale model!! Fantastic!
You’re pulling my heart strings here. My grandpa was a TBM pilot in the pacific. Great work! It makes me want to get into modeling!
Go for it!

Bro you really should, I started modelling around a year ago and ever since I have loved it as a hobby!!
@@Stop_motionsss I think I may. I really want to learn how to airbrush.
@@kennymudder99 even I don’t know how, I only paint by brush

I was like "this is pretty slick" and then the lighter reminded me its 1/72. Amazing!!
Ah yes, the ol' lighter for scale trick.
1/72 is a world on its own when you touch it, David !

I love it when you say you’re making “minor modifications.” PLASMO, you have the gift of understatement. Brilliant work, as always.
WOW!!! You took this plain Jane kit and made it into a super model. The PE additions with the excellant weathering show us why you are one of the best. Great job!!!
I just love this particular plane, especially the earlier markings ,Midway and after. Grumman always gets it
This is not just great model making, this is art. Thanks for all your great videos.

When David says "minor modifications" I know the video is going to be great. :)
You're a genius sir!!!! finally got me over my oil paint problems.....MANY MANY thanks
Best wishes Howard
Another Masterclass in scratch building and Weathering ! Thanks for sharing this fine specimen !
I built the Hasegawa TBM-3 straight from the box back in about 1997 or so and i can appreciate how much extra effort you put in to bring this kit up to contemporary standards. Beautiful job!
For some reason, I reallylove the TBF Avenger and this is a masterful treatment of her!
I don't even need to watch, it's Plasmo + Avenger= great build!
I've always wanted to go inside the lower rear room of the plane. It would be so cool to be in.
No matter how good I get at building model kits I'll never be as good as this guy.
Beautiful. You sir are the undisputed youtube king of 1/72 scale planes and tanks. You're treading into museum quality in such a small scale.
Would love to see you do one of airfix's 1/32 cars.
Klobouk dolů, pane Mistr. Každé video mi ukáže něco nového. Moc díky za to, že je děláš.
You never cease to amaze me with your patience attention to detail and vast amounts of skill...the Maestro
Absolutely fantastic!!!!! What an artist you are!!! This is plastic modelling taking to the next level!

Much love and respect from the US.

Another great build mate. That's how I'd love my models to look like as if you've just picked it off the runway/battlefield n put it on ur shelf
I love how when he says "minor modification" he really means im going to make this part so detailed that you cant tell the difference between the real thing. Absolutely Incredible
NOOOOOO !!! you are in another level the best of the best I can't never reach your level . Thank you to inspire all the community every time
Wonderful example of detail work. You are a true artist.

Awesome work on the avenger. Love the way you did the weathering. Looks like a carrier worthy aircraft.
Wonderful as always. The musical score was perfect. Thank you
Big boi . It’s really nice build model !

I can only suggest having a fan on nearbye to disperse the fumes - they are evil !
It is wonderful! When I am looking your videos, my skill grows up! Great respect from Russia to you!
Very nicely done. I bet you win all kinds of scale modeling awards
Turning a sow's ear into a silk purse! (A mediocre kit transformed into something exquisite!) My sincere admiration, and thanks for this video.
It looks fantastic. I lost track of where the actual kit went with all these upgrades but I guess it’s in there somewhere. As usual it was most enjoyable to watch.
Simply jaw-dropping skill. Humbling to us mere mortals. Bravo.
I’m separating parts which I don’t need. So , almost all. Builds an awesome model anyway. Love this guy
Jeez mate, that's some solid aftermarket PE skills there! - lovely and brilliantly done!
The Avenger was one of the great naval aircraft of WWII. Thanks for doing the "Ole' Turkey" proud!!
That vacuum formed canopy is so awesome looking. Also some really nice work on the reference photos.
Really ....I 've never seen an avenger as perfect as this one .By far the best on internet....and in 1:72 .The paint is awesome but the greatest idea that contributed to the perfection of the result was the thermoformed canopy.
Always a joy to watch a master at work. Its amazing end result from the box you opened
We’ll done plasmo, you’re a world class modeller and make it look easy. Always enjoy your content.
No other words can be used apart from ..... Absolutley Stunning !!!! my god man, what a talent !!!!!
Amazing work David. Thoroughly inspirational
Stunning weathering. Well done.
excellent work, I really liked the finish and the quality of the details, and I was wondering if one day you would build a Top Gun F-14TOMCAT, greetings from Mexico
And in today's video... Plasmo also walks on water and turns water into wine. ;) What can you say, other than bravo!
Very nice build David, I love your attention to detail, and your modifications, well done.
Bob Ross had his "Happy little trees" on his canvas. Plasmo has his "Minor Modifications". Glorious.
I like it a lot , 1/72 PE is a challenging thought . As always executed to perfection.
Stunning are you sure that's a 1:72 scale aircraft!
With all those photoetched...I'd go insane! Awesome job!
Wow, just wow! I have no other words. You are such an inspiration!
you see there is insane detail then there is this....just incredible!
Fantastic model and always professional videos!
PLASMO an example for everyone!
Excellent workmanship, fantastic details. Your a MASTER MODELER
Superb build, perfect paint and wonderful photography.👌😁

Incredible! You're an artist. Well done.
What an amazing detailed model and that in this small scale. Fantastic work.
What an awesome rendition of this plane. You are a true master of the craft! We have an avenger on display in Gisborne where I live and it is HUGE!
Beautiful! I love the Avenger. I have the Accurate Miniatures 1/48 TBM-3 in my stash and your video is great inspiration!

Absolutely superb work at 1/72 brilliant build. Love the Grumman aircraft Wildcats Hellcats etc 👍
1:40 "minor modifications" Yeah right, we know how this ends. 😂
Awesome model and video as always!
I love your storytelling!
Inspiring work once again, David. I have a 1/32 scale Avenger part built and seeing your work will motivate me to try out your methods. Thank you👍
I’m not a fellow modeller, but I greatly enjoy your videos. Thank you and keep up the great work!
Hi David. You are still the best. Love your work mate, excellent video.
Превосходная работа! Браво!
I carved one of these in 1\48 scale out of tulip poplar and red oak! One of the beefiest carrier planes from WW2!
I built the Accurate Miniatures version in 1/48 a year or so ago. The detail in that kit from the box is insane. However, you still did a better job in 1/72 than I did! Lol

Outstanding work!! it looks like 1/48 scale!
como decimos en México "eres un chingon" y quiere decir que eres excelente !!!!!
I do't build aircraft but Always love your videos. You did a Fantastic job on this Avenger!!! Excellent Work!!!!
Wow this could easy put on shame 1/32 or 1/48 kits by level of detail !! Excellent job !
Мой любимый самолёт в 72 масштабе ! Очень красивая работа !
Absolutely EPIC build and paint. Video is also fine now.
