In 73 days time I will be flying the other way for the first time. It's finally here for me, after watching you for two years. I wish your journey back to the UK was for reasons other than those you face. Not easy for sure. See you for the live on sunday.
Thanks for taking time to watch and for your comment. Your heading in the right direction sad the reason for my return but family reasons, I miss Thailand from day one, the bad weather here in Peak summer is disappointing. Many things I would like to do but all weather dependent.
I feel for you Les , without doubt the UK is fast becoming a right shitole! and the weather is enough to push anyone over the edge! Hope you enjoy your stay as much as you can and I'm looking forward to your videos over here 👍
Thanks for the tip on the Miracle Lounge as looks nice compared to the BKing rip off prices at the airport…rather pay for some luxury and relaxation before the flight back to dreary UK.
Thanks for taking us along for the journey, Les. I wonder if i would ever return to the UK for trip. Best wishes for your sister’s health. Safe travels Les.
I live just up the road from Redcar...and its been raining constantly this WHOLE year....the farmers are gonna be out of business if it keeps on. I cant remember in my lifetime the lack of sunshine we have had for YEARS. Thats why im like you looking to get the hell away as theres NOTHING positive about everyday life in the UK now. Hope ya sister is ok kidda and all the best and safe journey back HOME.
Retired! Don't Give Up; Hey Les I filmed that very same dragon thinking the same thing! and I wish I had filmed that subway trip to the new terminal, it had to be almost ten minutes, beautiful new terminal for sure, had I more time I would have visited that lounge too. Glad your flight was good, keep that jacket on until your back Living The Dream.
Cheers Dave, the lounge was only 5 min walk from the Gate, The Airport is vast but if your in a hurry this gate is very far. Day 8 here in the height of summer still raining today. Only one sunny day.
Sorry, you missed the Summer here Les lol, we had a few days in May got up 86 degrees and the news giving extreme heat warnings. Thanks for sharing your journey, safe travels
There are a number of Miracle Lounges at the Airport, we went into the one near the Qatar departure gate. 5 min from the gate. My friend paid 1,200 Baht for up to 3 hrs. Well worth it.
The flight from Bangkok to London one way was GBP 344 The return not booked yet in September is GBP 368 so not bad considering. I'm a big guy and for me plenty of leg room so happy with everything.
I love travel, I hate sitting on a plane. Just did Copenhagen to Orlando, that was long enough for me. Asia is even farther. I will say the cool cloudy skies of Europe was a relief after hot humid Florida. We went on a cruise of Denmark, England and Ireland. We had high 60’s most days. We consider it a nice break from Florida. I wouldn’t want to live in England, but warm, humid weather can get monotonous.
Absolutely There is a lot to be said about blue skys and the feel good factor. But I will make the most of my time here and reminisce about my time living here.
@@RetiredandLivingthedream Have a good stay Les and my sincerest best wishes to you, your family and most especially your dear sister. I hope all will be well. Sending thoughts and best wishes.
I'd love you to climb Roseberry Topping.Perhaps on a sunny day.I'm in Nonthaburi but have lived in Cleveland, be it long ago. Nice to see the sands at Redcar.Hope you find UK not so broken as you made out on your last trip.Last time I enjoyed your excursion to Whitby.Take Care.
Next thing it be is going from the UK to Thailand, though unfortunately Thailand is to far for me and the heat plus the insects are a nightmare to manage.. so yeah, kind of a shame like but looking forward to going back to Malta next year!
Hi the price was 45 pounds from London to Redcar as it was not peak time reasonable, National express bus was going to be 17 pounds Mega Bus 12 pounds Thanks for watching.
Was looking forward to the light nights and summer on my sisters veranda with a glass of wine. Not yet but 2 months to go we might get the odd day. Thanks for the comment.
Emirates lounge is far better ,, been in most of em in BKK and emirates is deffo the best ,, btw 14 hours is cutting your changeover time very very fine
Thanks for the tip, the change over time was 1 1/2 hrs which was tight but it's what they chose, it was good departed the plane long walk to the next plane 20 min and got back on the plane again very impressed with Qatar Airline. Thanks for watching.
@@RetiredandLivingthedream There have been many days with a sunny mornings, miserable rainy days and sunny evenings. Daily lines in the sky and daily mackerel skies. Lots of Northern Lights and other electromagnetic phenomena, refraction in the sky. But it's not geoengineering climate control of course, that's a conspiracy theory.
I think I could do better than most, Being 100% Honest would be a good starting point, looking after the working class and taking care of those who need it. I could goon and on but ill stop here. Thanks for taking time to comment.
Hi I paid GBP 344 From Bangkok to London and looking at GBP 360 return in September. not bad I thought, I'm a big guy and had enough room in the Economy seats.
Les, Over the last 12 years since you left you must have noticed how much the climate has changed? It must be the warmest you have ever experienced since the year dot, according to the Met office in the UK you can fry an egg on your car roof🤣. Any normal person from the UK would be wearing a singlet and shorts with a knotted hankie on their head😂. 12 years in Thailand has turned you into a nancyboy, these red hot summers (20c) and ultra mild winters (-2c) are what dreams are made of and you gave all that up for an average 30c throughout the year. You must be off your boiler, imagine going to the beach without a snowsuit in the height of summer and winters where you have to de-ice the windows in the house. Why would any sane person want to live in Thailand, utter madness😂🤣
Lol I was mistaken. Those summer days are long gone, probably sold to other country's as with the Gas Electric and Oil. They will tax warm days one day.
Looking at the various airports London was the best and train to Redcar. Flying to Newcastle was 200 pounds more than London, I had the time so saved 150 pounds for the slow trip. But I had plenty of time.
Hiya Les I have found some information about pensions in England for people outside the UK I have downloaded the papers If you can send you email address I will send it to you
Hi and thanks for the comment, my email is lesliepearson58@yahoo.com as in the description under this video. Look forward to reading but I have done a few video's about this subject so more info is good info. Thanks.
Yes lounge access is the way to go. Especially Asian lounges are great value
100% agree get there early to take full advantage of the service.😀

Having left over 14 years ago a lot has changed and I look forward to having a look at the place I called home. Thanks for watching.
Nice video Les, I will definitely consider using the BKK airport business lounge when I depart next! Hope all goes well while in the UK.
Been here 8 days now only one sunny Day, waiting for the sun lol. here for 2 months so hopefully getting a few nice days in a row.
Thanks for the tip on the Miracle Lounge as looks nice compared to the BKing rip off prices at the airport…rather pay for some luxury and relaxation before the flight back to dreary UK.
It was well worth it in my opinion, I will be doing this again if needed.
Back to the sh*thole. We're having the worlds worst summer lol
Redcar is still a great place but the weather is not good at this time of year, it should be better than this.
Great vlog as always thank you for sharing it.
Thanks for watching
Thanks for taking us along for the journey, Les. I wonder if i would ever return to the UK for trip. Best wishes for your sister’s health. Safe travels Les.
Thanks so much, fingers crossed for her. Here for at least 2 months so hopefully we will get some good weather.
Lots of East Europeans in London wearing their suits (track suit bottoms with hoodie) from their taylors (Sports Direct).
Quality Tailors.

A great way to relax before a long flight I had to get oil in last month crazy 😊😊
First time doing this thanks to a friend, I will be doing this again for sure. Thanks for taking time to comment.
Nicly knitted clip of your trip back, Les. So far so good! Yes, Redcar has much potential when the sun appears!😊
Hopefully the 10 million investment pays off. Many closed shops at the moment.
Your looking well mate, enjoy that lounge, for 1200TBT is a bargain I will definitely do that next time I fly home to Redcar later this year
It was well worth it. I will look at the lounge in Gatwick on my way home.

Thanks for that, Despite the weather I will make the most of the time here. A few video's also
How did tou find Qatar airways? What was the cost of the flight. Brilliant value in the lounge. Great idea. Thanks for the information

Hi can't complain everything went smoothly from start to finish. The lounge was a big plus.

Yep a long trip 14 hrs flight
Nice one, Les 👍 it's been the most miserable coldest summer I ever remember. The LOS is appearing more and more appealing as each day passes.

Nice one Les, what was the cost of the train journey up to Redcar? If you don’t mind me asking. Travelling to Cardiff by train is well pricey.

I was literally about to type, well it is winter, then I realised it is summer. Your well climatized to the 30'C heat now Les
Thanks for the comment, hopefully we will have a few days in the next couple of months.
It certainly feels like winter with the rubbish weathered we're having
Heads up to people who only go to Thailand once a year, give yourself an extra hour to get the train to the new terminal
It is a long trip once your in the Airport don't know if it is just Qatar Airline or if it is other Airlines.
Have a safe trip
Thanks here now waiting for summer.
Our British weather will always welcome us back home. 😂
Miracle lounge is belter than nothing. Try Thai Silk Lounge next time.
Thanks for the suggestion, 1st time in a lounge but I liked it.
UK summer been rubbish this year. Think its been 4/5 days when it was 20 degrees C or greater so far this year.

@@RetiredandLivingthedream You got a good deal at £704 return at this time of the year. Qatar are my favourite airline for the London > Bangkok trip.
What/where is this red car your talking about?
Redcar is the town I lived in, on the North East coast of England.
Hey Les, get some beetroot down you whilst here 😂
Yep got a jar from Asda. Beetroot sarnie Mmmmmmm
Welcome Les .I bet you are missing Ploy and Thai home . Keep safe in shitty UK
Why did you go back Les.
My sister is ill, giving support and just being there for a while.

I always use the Magic food hall on level One, loads of choices for around 60/80thb, excellent variety of food 😊
You had a parmo yet Les?
1st meal was a kebab, lol Parmo is on the cards.
What a time to come back les UK worse than ever and Redcar worse than ever
There are a few more shops closed than the last time I was here, hopefully the 10 million development starts the upturn.

Thought you was never going back to the Uk again
I was not intending to return but my Sister is ill so being a supportive brother.

the 3rd world awaits.✈️

Your trip back to the UK , how many hours from leaving Bangkok to arrival in London
15 hrs in Total I prefer this to the direct flight which is 12,hrs 45 min. I liked the stop and stretch of legs for 1 1/2 hrs.
Worst summer I have known Lez and they keep coming out with this global warming nonsense
I may suffer from SAD and I know many do, constant grey days are not good. Thanks for watching.
I remember the snows we'd get in the 70s and 80s. The snow in the wnter of 85 was really bad.
Global warming is real.
