    You focused so much about ladies. There are some of us with no interest in finding a relationship in Thailand but just an affordable warm climate with great food. That being said, an organic relationship is great.

    • @RetiredandLivingthedream
      @RetiredandLivingthedream  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Thanks for that, every one has a story to tell here as I have not met anyone who has never been touched by Thailand in a financial way. Lady's are a massive draw to guys visiting Thailand but would also agree that some do not come for the Lady's and search for the good life. I hope you have found this and are happy with your search best wishes and thanks for your comment.

    Came to Thailand 1984. Met my lovely wife in 1985. I commuted back and fort hence working in the north sea schedule. We married in 1988 and moved to Norway same year. It took three years with co-habitation before marriage. I have never looked back. No we have to sons both with their high quality masters degrees. One of them relocated to Vancouver married Chinese and doing fantastic. The other son remains in Norway working as a teacher in higher education. The two of us still married for almost 40 years have relocated to rural Thailand on a small farm with fantastic farmer neighbors. We is on our second year on the farm and just love the retirement. We do not miss anything. We have a very good rural life some 150 Km from Hua Hin if we want to visit the touristic life. So for me I was maybe lucky I dont know but I am still in loved and my wife I regard as a gift from God. By the way I was working as expat in Laem Chabang (commuting back and forth) 10 years ago and in the weekend made some very nice trips out to Rayong. Fantastic area with some fantastic beaches loved it. A stay at Rayong Resort is is a place one will never regret paying a visit fantastic place as a tips to any of the audience contemplating a trip to Rayong.

      Thailand is one of the most LGBTQ friendly nations on the planet. And it's not Christian - Oops.
      And they even legalized cannibis.
      Thais are very tolerant, whereas Conservatives are widely considered hateful, racist bigots, all over the world, and many farang bigots are spotted vacationing in Thailand every day.
      I've seen Conservatives laughing and calling Thais "monkeys," and "gooks." I once knocked out a racist farang in a Pattya bar, who was screaming racist slurs at Thai women, back in 1990.
      Conservatives have a deep hatred of the LGBTQ and have historically hated Cannibis for nearly a century.
      Thailand is kind and accepting of their LGBTQ citizens. Thailand isn't for hateful bigots.
      - Another westerner.

    Great advice as usual Les, yes, I was a newbie years ago and went through the learning process of wising up. Still, I have no regrets as in my home country the majority of females I met were far worse than the Thais I had experience with. Now my Thai wife have been together fifteen years and been married 5 years. No regrets.

    Good advice I fly into Thailand to retire late July early August the plan is to move in with my long term girlfriend who lives in a small town near Bang Pa-in . My GF wants to continue working for the next few years while i go back to school to learn how to speak Thai . we then plan to spend a year travelling a month at a time in 12 locations before deciding where to lay roots .

    Hello Les how do you find the Click? I have the 2023 model so far no problems at all. However i recommend changing the engine oil and transmission oil every 2500ks given the cost of these oils its cheap to do it. Cheers Steve

    Don't fall in love with LITERALLY the first bar girl you meet, marry her a month later and give her all your money. Amazing how often this happens, the actual first girl they meet!!❤😂

      To bad farangs, I don't mind it a bit when these same stories happen over and over, and I cheer the bar girls on. I only have mild sympathy for good farangs who still don't get it. I'm blunt and truthful. Few are.

    I always stayed away from the "bar scene". The strip clubs in the usa, the gals are there are for your ATM, nothing more. Isn't different in any other country. My friends in the usa that hooked up with bar girls here got the same result... money gone in a flash along with the gal. I always laughed. A pretty face, doesn't make a pretty heart. Don't lose your head to a woman who will spend your bread...Rod Stewart...

    • @RetiredandLivingthedream
      @RetiredandLivingthedream  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi I agree, I tred carefully of this subject but giving advice before the girlfriend arrived is welcomed after the gf arrives then it's not so welcome as this girl is different, or not the same as the girls you talk about, but I am happy to be proved wrong, but it has not happened yet in the 12 years of living here. Thanks for watching.🙏😿

      @alangraham8926 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't think it's about being proven right or wrong you have a sense of duty but the circumstances blur peoples judgement. If someone was about to walk across some "wasteland" and you said there are mines, crocodiles and snake's there I am sure people would pay a lot more attention! You probably need to screen your videos at the airport!@@RetiredandLivingthedream

    I was one of those who DID take the THB home.
    -- Just a couple days ago, I dug deep into the storage and produced some THB from the 1980s.
    -- The local market clerk asked her manager if it was still legal tender (100THB).
    -- The manager walked about showing the bill to the other vendors.
