i wonder if going with energy amp helps greedent here, since you're able to get your unite faster and maybe have it for moer fights and on top of that have buddy barrier and score shield. so not entirely defensive at all times but i do wonder if it works well.
Its hilarious that everyone knows Greedent wastes the enemies time, but they still choose to try and kill the time waster. Also more tips for those people who have been victims for this Greedent's crimes against Unite: DO NOT CHASE HIM WHEN HE'S OUT IF YOUR RANGE Unite lied about Greedent's class, he is a full blown bulky speedster thats near impossible to kill on your own. I had a Zera Jungle that just kept on tunneling me throughout the whole game because i stole his jungle, believe me when i say this: In a teamfight, everyone would attack Zera, but he wouldn't attack back, he'd tried to work his way to me VERY slowly. Tip 2. You do not use your Unite Move against a Greedent currently stealing your jungle. Don't... It's the most stupidest decision you could ever make. Take the death and use it on one of the objectives. Now something for the Greedent players: It's amazing if the enemy team is following you to stop your crime. If you think you can't steal the big buffs, make the feds accidently steal the buffs (Basic attacks that can multi-hit is great, like Wiggly's Basics or the Double Slap/Gleam moves, and works great against Venusaur.) No matter what happens, Greedent will be succesfull in his heist. By either stealing the buffs or forcing enemy laners to steal them.
Invade Greedent is only a problem because most NA teams aren't smart enough to send red buff Eldegoss against it, keeping in mind it's literally the best ganker in the game. That's actually what our 5 stack does when we see Fluffy Tail Greedent, ESPECIALLY if it's score comp. We simply let our jungler take speed zone Aipoms for 5 instead, and if Greedent shows he gets killed for free, and then Eldegoss continues to zone out a lane after that.
When you said heist I immediately thought of the Greedent in the Zeraora Frontier style animation and now that I know thought of it it's extremely accurate to what actually happens except for the part where Zeraora actually gets him
This is the second video I've gotten into XD I love your content Spragels (I'm DaTreeMoss btw) I was the mime in your pikachu vid and the aegislash in this one :) I learned how to be good from watching you and I'm glad to have improved so much! I appreciate all you do educating the Pokémon Unite community! Please continue to teach the world one cowboy at a time, Yeehaw!
I think the rise of Greedent just invalidates all the weak pokemon that hide in the jungle for their early game, your Gardevoirs, Gengars, Dragonites, Zeraoras, Cinderace, Greninja, Tsareena. Pretty much any Pokemon that can't kill Ludicolo by 9:37 is an unviable jungler until they introduce a draft mode. Or your jungler is going to have to start running Fluffy Tail in order to burn down that first Ludicolo and beat Greedent on the steal because Greedent loses all of his secure power against the Ludicolo buff and a level 4 enemy. If Unite doesn't do anything about this we're going to see more Machamp, Talonflame, Absol, Aegislash, Garchomp and Charizards in the jungle because they can kill Ludicolo before Greedent gets into the jungle and even then all these Pokemon are still vulnerable to Greedent because if Greedent steals even 1 Corphish he denies them their level 5 gank.
I found myself using Greedent again after it got nerfed and it's so easy to just steal exp and score. Some counters to it are Zera, Absol and Charizard. They deal consistent damage or great amounts in a short period of time, and sometimes it's difficult to gain hp back as fast as you need it.
@@nooneliterallyno-1307 yeah. if I see an absol in jungle I'll try to steal a corphish under his radar, but then I just fill the empty lane and try to farm up so I can face off against him(bullet seed or just higher by a few levels will work) and then he'll see me staling his jungle
Honestly, I already usually start with Corpfish whenever I jungle. I feel like following the path of the first Lillipup already naturally takes you right to them, and getting rid of a Corpfish first also makes it less likely that an incompetent team member comes into the jungle from lane and steals vital exp from you. My order is basically Lillipup, Corpfish (on the side Lillipup walks towards), Bouffalant and Ludicolo (starting with whichever one is closer to the Corpfish I killed), then the other Corpfish. I think it's just as efficient as starting with the jungle buffs too, I always finish in time to help a lane with the 8:50 bees
@@oliviyeah4358 Might be correct, I don't keep track of which one I fight first each match but I do feel like Ludicolo comes first in all of the times I can recall
Hey! if you wanna know where the lilipup will go then you should checkout on which side of the map you are. If you are on the Grassy side then the Lil will go Top. If it's the Sandy side then the Lil will go Bot. On both the situation, Ludicolo spawns on the direction where the Lil is going.
I once called jungle, then greedant called jungle, and I quick messaged "ok!" and in that moment I feel we both understood what was happening. Greedant invaded enemy jungle and we won the match. It was incredible.
You do know that later on in the match, They could use Covet which negates Slow Smoke and still has the speed buff it gets. However, it is useful to double up on a greedent, as long as it is in lane. If it’s in their enemies Jungle, then it’s a waste of time.
Thanks for the detailed walkthrough Jake. I like how you boil down counterjungling and deflecting it, easily one of the most challenging topics in any moba, into a simple, digestible video. Well done
Yeah As an Absol player, at the beginnings of that strat I was like "What the heck are you doing here little not-yet-so-fat squirrel?... and proceed to destroy them.
I will say im pretty sure damaging that first lillipup does lower experience from the jungler, as greedents on my teams have done this and i do not hit my evolutions like i normally would
Had someone try this yesterday on me, i was charmander, with slow smoke, eating his berries before he could, i was able to kill him, as the game went on, i got the feeling he was very new to greedent in general, really hurt his own team, please, dont be this greedent and play ranked with it for the first time, especially in masters 🤦🏻♂️
I always head for the Corpish after lilpup for effiecent uptime. Normally u kill it 1 or 2 seconds before the other camps spawn. I use the time to run to Corpish and then make my round from bottom to top or viceversa depending on side. It really gives u a time advantage because u dont wait for the camps and u dont run all the way agian to the last corpish. Makes clear flow much more effiecent
Been playing Greedent since they were first released. My favorite character in the game, and though I don't do counter-jungle since it feels a bit too scummy for me, I can still cause some real issues with score shield goal getter. The "Get out of jail free" card aka either of the berry moves makes it super easy to run in, score, than safely run away. I go most games with Greedent without dying, and then get MVP almost every time. Also Bullet Seed is incredible for nicking mons like Zapdos or Dreadnaw, since you have the rapid damage, there is a high likelihood that your hit will be the final hit on these objectives. Greedent is pretty versatile.
Counter Jungle Greedent is so fun. I personally use potions to try to get them off the idea that I’m gonna steal as well as to help my sustain when I use Stuff Cheeks. I’ve only done it twice but it is just such an amazing feeling honestly when you do it.
To be honest, greendent might be one of the most annoying pokemon to match with. Because this one pokemon changes the game very differently. Maybe greedent needs bit of a nerf of his mobility and buff for his attack moves.
Absol is an absolute menace for Greedent, as is Aegislash. What I've found is that melee characters who excel with crits and burst damage are the best picks for anti-Greedent tactics, which is part of why Absol is so effective, and is the reason I tend to run scope lens on my Aegislash builds. Very good tips!
I like invading with Snorlax (with full damage build) on a smurf instead of with Greedent to switch things up. It's fun with X-Speed bc after you steal the jungle, you can escape between the enemy Tier 1 and Tier 2 goals by running straight into the enemy lane flux zone towards the enemy berries at GODSPEED: using Tackle + X-speed (use if anyone is chasing you) + Snorlax berry speed passive buff (Snorlax berry speed buff when running near the berries). When you get to the enemy berries, you heal 100% and then maybe pick up a double kill if your laners are paying attention or get a free score 14-20 points score if your laners are pushed back/losing/fighting and enemy is not defending their Tier 1. This also works well with Machamp's Bulk-up/Submission too bc Bulk-up/Submission also makes you unstoppable to slows like X-Speed for its duration. The only downside to Snorlax/Machamp early invade is you can't jump over walls but you aren't that much slower to get to enemy jungle to be honest when you jump pad and then run through center to avoid detection
Counter jungling is how you cripple talonflame. I did one time and my teams talon has 14 kills while the opponents had 3 kills only. By first dred my teams talon was up 2 levels and steamrolled.
I know this strat isnt new, but its good to see people using new strats, going 2/1/2 and the laners being there doing nothing for 30 secs after bees is so annoying.
Meanwhile we have the North American Championship Meta where nothing happens until Drednaw or Rotom and it is basically the same game with the same teams using 1-1-3 setup that makes 0 sense if you actually look at the results, every, single, time. Also they do nothing after bees in those games too and it makes them extremely boring to watch.
Many thanks for highlighting this Greedent strat and making it more public. As for the strat, it is annoying to deal with, but there is counterplay like you said. I would say it's better on 5 stacks than soloq because everyone on Greedent's team is aware of the strat. Plus, there are some pokemon that can deal with Greedent if they know about it. Absol is great at stopping Greedent early on as you said. Would Aegislash, Zeraora and Talonflame be good choices to fight off Greedent in the early game?
Greedent main over here. Countering a Jungle invasion Greedent really boils down how well the opposing jungler knows this Greedent's strategy. Absol is a very strong counter to this strategy. I consider Talonflame to be a secondary counter to invasion, Aegislash, Zeraora ( really any other jungler ) if they focus on you, not their buffs. Even if the Greedent steals it, it's probably too low by that point to continue, and forced to retreat.
I watched the video and then started a game, we had an invading greedent in our jungle and it would be an understatement to say that he was completely unsuccessful, all thanks to you!
As a greedent main i ik how true this is and i will say that pikachu is a counter help for this mon cuz electro web just helps keeps it trap and stuck or and mon that can prevent it from moving to either recover little health or just be annoying
As someone who plays this strat alot I recommend using absol or someone who can clear jungle asap I also recommend using fluffy tail as it speeds up jungle clear also if the squirrels in ur jungle use your moves once the buffs/corphish are at low health hope this helps stay safe
I was just searching for ways to counter greedent last night after a couple of games of frustration. I rarely ever jungle but one time I was forced to as sylveon (because no one went center) and it's so freaking annoying having everything stolen lol
I think a solution for Greedents are.. not to use a Fluffy Tail. spragels mentions that enemies may suspect you're going to counter-jungle if you have Fluffy Tail. So take that suspicion away by having a different item like Goal Getter instead. But if you still want to use Fluffy Tail AND be a counter-jungler, you should go into whichever lane and be there for some time but not too long that the enemy jungler takes everything. Then on the last second invade their jungle, you must make sure that they avoid getting to level 5.
I've been doing this strategy with float stone talonflame after watching your vids on the topic... It feels quite strong as talon can carry a game quite hard with scoring or team fights. When i get behind on Greedent the game feels pretty out of my hands at that point. I also don't prefer bullet seed but that's my choice lol
Greedant was invading my jungle and instead of wasting my time trying to knock him out, he let me run right past him into his central area and I started taking the enemies buffs.
After randomly ranked matching with then against you when you were running mean greedent I am going to enjoy playing off char as greedent, super fun light v dark playing. CREATE A COUNTER JUNGLE CALLOUT
Imo, early jungle invade in solo queue is terrible overall. You risk your top lane, you risk getting nothing done and instead FEEDING the enemy jungle (oh gawd), and worse yet Greedent is like one of the best top laners in the game so you waste that potential as well. It's almost never worth it imo. Just stick to stealing top lane farm and cripple an entire lane.
I have a question. How do you counter the counter? The enemy jungler does what you said to do to counter the Greedent strat, so how do you counter the counter?
As an Absol main I was going to ask what happens if you clear fast but that was already answered, thank you. As for this strategy, do you think it might work with other pokemon? An example might be Lucario who might have enough bulk and strength whilst having a dash attack. Or slowpoke who has an X speed to make up for slowness because water gun does damage early on. Just curious on any pokemon who might work.
every time I faced invade greedent in soloq they miserably failed.. wanna know why ? cuz my randoms steal our jungler's jungle themselves and he have to faced 3 pokemon xD
I once saw a greedent doing this to our team. I responded by going to their own jungle and stealing their Corphishes Its not a good as stealing their buffs but it still ruined their jungler's first gank
This is literally how Greedent was designed to be played actually (Not necessarily an invader but a distractor). That's how he had the 'Defender' title.
Greedent is ridiculous. 10 minutes ago i decided to try out top lane and blastoise and all i could dp was sit there as he scored point after point after, break goal and run off with his stupid berries into the sunset.
I matched twice against the same 5 stack back to back and they had greedent and I knew what it was gonna do and it realized I was the same Lucario from the previous match and so it called it’s whole team over to demolish me it was brutal haha

Yaaaaay a new greedent video my favorite pokemon and my favorite cowboy content creator. Yeeeeehaaaa!
Just to say it because I’m watching a hoopa vid you made and you improved timber which was FIRE
#MAKEACOUNTERJUNGLECALLOUT
Great video!
The speed casting 😆
I use aeos cookie while counter jungling greedent and it is a pain to kill after 6 stacks of aeos cookie.
Heeey jake. Can you review Mamoswin new holowear?
As an Absol main Im pretty sure you can take Ludi down before Greedent arrives and probably burst him down
As an Absol main I was going to ask what happens if you clear fast but that was already answered, thank you. As for this strategy, do you think it might work with other pokemon? An example might be Lucario who might have enough bulk and strength whilst having a dash attack. Or slowpoke who has an X speed to make up for slowness because water gun does damage early on.
Just curious on any pokemon who might work.
Damnit Jake! How dare you show my secret weapon!
Thank you for the content
I played against you earlier. You’re nice with Talonflame.
I did this earlier my top teammate just left the game early, he or she thought i'll feed or something
every time I faced invade greedent in soloq they miserably failed.. wanna know why ?
cuz my randoms steal our jungler's jungle themselves and he have to faced 3 pokemon xD
Haha
Game become clown fiesta when both have 2 greedent invade and allies come to help
"They nerf my Belch a hundred times and it's still good."
Greedent is such a scourge...but I really like bullet seed and wish sylveon's hyper voice worked the same way
there's also a way to counter counter counter it
i hope you included it
Love it when its on my team, hate it when its on the other team XD
I once saw a greedent doing this to our team. I responded by going to their own jungle and stealing their Corphishes Its not a good as stealing their buffs but it still ruined their jungler's first gank
The amount of times i heard Problems
Had to put xspeed on charizard to deal better with the rat
This is literally how Greedent was designed to be played actually (Not necessarily an invader but a distractor). That's how he had the 'Defender' title.
Brilliant!! 🌠✨
Greedent is ridiculous. 10 minutes ago i decided to try out top lane and blastoise and all i could dp was sit there as he scored point after point after, break goal and run off with his stupid berries into the sunset.
Ignore it and go about your business
@@shubhamjohri290 that's what i did. It's funny how they don't even try and attack you
I love greedent so much. Bullet seed/stuff cheeks is so fun to use.
I matched twice against the same 5 stack back to back and they had greedent and I knew what it was gonna do and it realized I was the same Lucario from the previous match and so it called it’s whole team over to demolish me it was brutal haha
Yeah greedent jungle invade is very volatile and semi reliant to teamates that i rarely jungle invade greedent
Just went to standard match to try evade jungle. Enemies already knew exactly how to handle me and i got slapped
Yesterday I was on Cinder and I legit just stole his berries and hit him to kill him then do the jungle
Yeah after playing Dragonite jungle a couple of days ago, I can see why people hate this. Holy hell that match was annoying.
Missed opportunity: How Greedent is NUTS in Solo Q
Greedent comics crimes against the Geneva convention, and due to wolfy glick every knows it.
well my enemies go the invading job for me so i dont have to invade
Nice video
R.I.P jungle invade greedant
This commentary is hilarious. The sped up greedent run animation looks so ridiculous
