I played Decidueye for 400 games and I can say that this guide is what every single Decidueye player needs, it has everything that you need for play the character correctly
Indie bear is a top player, and makes quality content, fun and informative! But i feel u man, most content creators r pros that are nor funny nor informative.
Thank you for this video! I was playing Decidueye quite a bit, but I let other content creators talk me out of playing this "because it's just bad". I think a lot of people in the community get really lazy about analysis based on solo queue stats and anecdotal experience of other Decidueye players. Like yes, your average solo queue Decidueye probably isn't playing the most optimally, but that doesn't make the Pokemon bad necesarilly. I'd love to see a video on my favorite blue boi Azu next!!
As a decidueye main (4200+ games) since season1. I have to clarify a few things in this video. Firstly the build you recommended is ideal for the razor leaf moveset and it is not optimal for the spirit shackle build. I’ll explain further; Spirit shackle’s damage increases depending on how high your attack is, scope lense doesn’t increase your physical attack damage in any way(whilst using spirit shackle) razor claw does by giving +15 attack. However this is very insufficient compared to float stone which gives you +24 attack and +150 movement speed and an increase of 20% movement when out of combat; which is extremely crucial for decidueye as it lacks mobility. My recommended build would be to use muscle band, attack weight and float stone. This is the by the far the best held items to use for spirit shackle as it will give you +129 attack in total per multiplied by each level increase. This build gives +129 attack compared to the +30 in your recommend build. Yes it is hard to get stacks, just like any other Pokémon. And now coming to the emblem page; best emblems to use is 6 brown, 4 white, 2 blue, 2 purple (+190HP, +12 attack) Decidueye already has weak defences so your emblem build makes it even more prone to stuns and attacks and lowers HP (which is the holy grail of emblems); all this makes decidueye even more weaker. The 3 reds do hardly anything on the spirit shackle build as well. The best items for razor leaf would be muscle band, scope lense and rapid fire scarf. All this being said; thank you for making this video, I enjoyed it and loved everything about it. Love to see the little birdie getting some fame lol
@@robertmata2948 held items: muscle band, scope lense, rapid fire scarf Emblems (I prefer) : (3 red) Charmander, Charmeleon, Moltres (6 brown) nidoking, aerodactyl, nidoqueen, poliwrath, kabutops, quagsire (Blue) slowpoke This will give you the 10 emblems I prefer to use, 6 brown, 4 blue, 3 red, 2 white and 2 purple.
I’m not a Decidueye player at all, I don’t even have their Unite License. However, I really appreciate the talk about Eject Pack’s value. I thought I was wrong for using it against more simple attacks like Absol’s Feint or Buzzwole’s Leech Life, but hearing how it’s actually better to use in battles for the most part is really reassuring. Thanks for the video! But also as a Sableye Main I’m going to do everything in my power to stay the hell away from your Shadow Sneaks
Yeah, I fail to see the problem with using eject against those moves either, considering how much of a death sentence those moves are to the arrow owl.
This guide is really awesome, everything is 100% true, you just need experience with this character, you can actually carry. I watched this tried the build and techniques. It was fun. Some early decidueye tips are Don't engage anyone alone, you are a sniper not a brawler, so don't fight the enemy team to protect the goal alone. Grass is your greatest friend more than your actual teammates, hide everywhere and wait for prey to cross you sight . If not in a clutch use your spirit shackles for vision before unite, so you know if enemy is nearby If you follow everything in this guide properly, you would be lvl 13 or 14 during ray. Farm like hell the whole game , don't engage in fight. Only team fights, support them from back. Most importantly don't focus of scoring , cos your scoring speed is bad and your movement is too. So trust your team for that , only score when you have vision of most of enemy team and do that wisely or you can give them catch up experience.
Mate you only needed one video to earn a sub, if you keep this up you will be the best unite education channel in no time. I feel like I have to pay for this. Btw please continue to do other high ceiling Pokémon?
This is a great guide and explanation on why. Just about every content creator shows their items and some game play. But this is the first time I've seen such an in-depth explanation.
Honestly this is the best guide I l have seen on Pokemon unite so far on TH-cam. This is literally everything you need to know about this pokemon. Other content creators just talk about the character briefly and then say sit back and enjoy the match without saying much more about the character at all. I appreciate your in-depth thoughts and analysis to help teach me and better allow me to make decisions. Thank you for all the effort you put into this.
Haven't played in a year, came back to the game like 2 weeks ago and instantly bought decidueye after seeing what his abilities looked like, instantly fell in love with spirit shackle and shadow sneak and the overall sniping people (Does the widowmaker profile picture make it obvious? 😂) Thanks a lot for one of the most in depth, informative videos i have ever seen about this game.
Big tip to add that I didn’t see used in the video is when you are in Deciduye’s unite move, you can pan over with view map I think to see the rest of the line of damage from the unite. If you don’t move the screen camera, you won’t be able to see the opposing Pokémon off screen.
Damn you made me wanna play decidueye now! The little grass owl was my favourite starter in ultra sun but I was a little hesitant to play him in unite, but now I'm more than willing to go a few rounds 😎
So happy to see an extensive guide for this one. With Decidueye you are really good or really bad. It needs practice but when you get a good sense of how to pilot it, you become an unstoppable force
I liked both movesets but seeing quickclaw used like this opened my eyes oh my god that is so fun to be able to do both I was trying it out and got a good streak after I really appreciate the deep guide and love you show to our owl I can't wait to see more content
I watched this video a couple months ago and was blown away. Compared to the half dozen other unite guide channels, this is leagues above. The only reason I didn't subscribe before was because I saw this was your only Unite video. But I'm subscribing HOPING you bring more! Incredible job.
What an awesome guide really..... Saving gold for this and tyranitar... Yeah it needs info to be played with this bird. Looks like these info will really help❤thanks
This was hands down the best guide it's a shame that no one else makes videos like this for other pokemon it feels like every other video is just a click bait guide
0:34 well that’s what you get with a sniper character, seriously though, if Sableye is guerrilla fighter, Dicidueye is either the sniper or that one guy with the AK47 that you doubt is actually even in the army
Ive always loved deciduye and when i picked it as my starter on unite, all my friends made fun of me and said it was bad but i never gave up hope. Thanks to this guide I played against them and shocked them by winning 8/10 games overall
I like to think I’m a pretty good decidueye but I’m always looking for new builds and trying to learn I can’t wait to try this. I’ve been running attack weight for a while but in jungle it be hard to get all your stacks! Also you are very informative
I been maining the way of the arrow ever since his release, spirit shackle has always been the better build but it is a difficult Pokémon to play since you get blown up if you miss position even for one second. Especially will never assassin releases it kind of difficult to play if your front line is not keeping the assassin busy
I've had so much fun playing Decidueye with this week's limited licenses and am currently saving up to add it to my lineup permanently. Your stat breakdowns are so thorough and eye-opening, it's amazing to me that this isn't considered to be the best mon in the game just based on how insanely all of its stat buffs stack with the opponents debuffs when used correctly. Definitely going to try to master this build, and if I don't, I'm still having loads of fun.
I just got Deci and am struggling with it. Just watched this and already feel like I know a little more. Thanks so much for such an amazing and detailed video!!!
I did enjoy this video, I have 1,200 games in with Decidueye and have a 50% win rate. I do agree that you have to be very smart with in and out plays. Kind've a Guerilla Warfare tactics
I think you can definitely squeeze 1-3% crit into the Emblem set (replacing the Reds with better value + crit) and that'd be a great combo with the Scope Claw!
I'm not sure if I missed any update on it, but I think razor dmg buff doesn't work with ranged aa, just melees. Those crit buff of it seems really low. I also consider the benefits from scope a bit niched considering an arrow build since this move doesnt crit at all. I feel more synergy from rapid fire or stone than those two. I wouldn't use red emblems also cause of atk speed cap. I trully believe we reach the max speed quite early in the game.
I do believe arrow decidueye is a way more about position in the map than itens, though. It's all about controlling your emotions and not going full ahead into a multi-battle, having a defender in front of you or at least a good cc all-rounder and trying to predict your oponents steps. Those are the basics. The decidueye can shiny even more if you get good at knowing when to shoot that last arrow to steal objectives and if you aim to the far from fight enemy attackers such as gardevoir, cinder, gre etc... not necessarly to one shot kill, but to make them retreat.
Thank you for this guide! I have practiced and learned how to properly use this build, and it works perfectly! I would definitely recommend this build.
I've been playing attack weight and X speed for so long cause I always felt like I needed it, but I think I'll be putting some serious time into this build now. I love decidueye because I feel like I can control multiple interactions across the map at once and seriously outplay opponents to carry, so I'll try and use this guide to get even better.
Love this vid btw! I'm subbing now. I have been maining the owl for the last couple months and wholeheartedly agree that it is a great adc character and leader. Perfect unite move imo. But I run razor leaf since they added rapid scarf and drain crown, what do you think of this build in terms of synergy and maximization?
you've made me want to play deci, i was saving up for umbreon but guess not i'm just scared it might be too teammate reliant, currently struggling in ultra beacause of terrible teammates
U deserve my sub thanks man ur the best i will be deci main i got green ribbon btw hosting was best scripting was best the way u grab my attention didnt bore me for a sec i saw this video in recommendation ages ago but i was used to hate deci because i really sucked at it but after suffering in solo for so long i became decent im sharing ur video to my friends because we are the bird of same feather
I prefer x speed over eject button because it allows me to be everywhere I’m needed at any given time. The lower cool down allows for more usage and opportunities to make plays.
I think the only other unite tuber I've ever seen propose Decidueye to be kitted out this way was Assassin Dave. Others just downplay him as free XP. Thanks for proving it otherwise.
I know this is *really* late, but how does decidueye match up against trevenant? (my main) while i want to start playing decidueye better, i also want to make sure i play against him correctly. love the video!
Question sighted! Trevenant is a really good example of a matchup where want to stand exactly on the outside of his Horn Leech/Hammer. They'll never move over any space quickly other than the Horn Leech, so you can literally stand there autoattacking him on the outside of his range and as soon as he Horns Forward, you step back and get ready to sidestep the hammer. You can also just Eject Button sideways or even BEHIND them and keep firing, once they charge they'll often hammer slam straight ahead!
I agree with the build and even now in 2023 it helped me alout tho I do prefer potion better then eject it's saves me and my dad from loads of deths like we could exape deth some times my dad's also a amazing sizor and I lost one game yesterday because of a troll player it was anoying
Muscle Band, Razor Clar, and Scope Lens??? Hey xD So I am using him Correctly then 😂 I used to be a Razor Leaf Decidueye main. It was Okay. most W's but there were some Loses. But, when I switched to Spirit Shackle... I have not Lost a Match since 😆 I am at my 26 Winstreak with him. Decidueye is so OP with Spirit Shackle 😆
Dang, Imma go use this build to see how well I do Update: Damn, took me two games to get used to the build, since I am very accustomed to its gameplay. This build got me five consecutive wins and all those, I was able to become Level 15 without costing the team.
I don't have 1k games with decidueye but i have a good mechanic where when you shoot you always aim somewhere random and then flick to your opponents . That way the opponent can't know where to dodge.
It is good. But I prefer razor leaf build with the shadow, in teamfights you deal all damage in team fight, along with all the procs you give, I add the attack speed in 3 atks as that process on top of the passive, you also go 10% lifestyle and its gg , you can go from 1-100% in 2 seconds flat , highest innate lifestyle, but you have to learn how to use your leaf passive at the right time, its also more reliable, if you miss gengars opener, you can insta burst unlike the arrow, but we all have opinions
Ive been playing the game since week 2. As soon as decidueye dropped, i was hyped (my favourite gen 7 pokemon is decidueye). I haven't played many other mons since. In my experience decidueye is goog
In light of recent Zacian related events I've started using 7 yellow with 3 black (Gengar and Crobat lines) Float Stone, Exp Share to help in team fights or lane, and Attack Weight, it goes nuts you scoot anywhere you want and I've outran quite a few Gengar
I swear shadow sneak and spirit shackle have some of the best synergy in the game, I cannot tell you how many times I’ve killed a couple enemies and won the objective because my little ghost dude went into a bush. It’s also super good for farming safely, if you see it go away while you’re hitting bees then you know to back off or go for the kill it’s such an amazingly designed move
Since the new items dropped, I've been using rapid scarf and drain crown on a razor leaf build, since it felt more survivable. But as a Shackle main, it's felt good to be back. Now I'm gonna try this build to maximize my fav move in the entire game. P.S. I feel spirit shackle is indeed the best move for sniping, even when solar beam exists, and it's purely because of how versatile the move is
I'm a decidueye main and I immediately had to test it. My team was crushing it and I got 16 takedowns and 100k dmg in ranked. i'm not 100% sure about the razorclaw but I think this is ok🤔💥 if you know how to play this birb, this set can crush it completely
When playing Decidueye Jungle I think for Purple build💜; Muscle Band, Scope Lens, & Float Stone( for fast rotation ) are better. While the battle item is X Speed - basically to nullify mvnt decrease from Spirit Shackle & to reposition yourself during team fights. Green build 💚; Muscle Band, Rapid-fire Scarf, & Scope Lens
Speedsters in my opinion tend to fall under the category of "Wabbits" or what I'd refer to as the class of squishy pokemon that ultimately die or have to back off after 1-2 Spirit Shackles. These guys you really want to prioritize bursting them and leaving, you don't really want to burst And Keep Fighting because then they'll close the gap and one shot you. You need to settle with doing 50% of their life total from a distance and forcing them to leave or overcommit.
Decidueye main but, I love razor leaf and shadow sneak, I always mess up everytime I try to be cool using spirit shackle😅. Anyway I can melt enemy pokemon with my razor leaf, so I preferred leafy decidueye than spiritual
Long time owl main, watched to pick up any additional tips, sadly I play decidueye with a massive handicap, when I spirit shackle I can’t see anything! Even if I clear cache it only works for one round then I have to do it again ( this means an hour of download every time) so I just stick with the handicap lol!
what other pokemon would you like to see guides for? where do you think decidueye belongs on the tier list?
Scizor! I've never played this, but Scizor is my favorite pokemon
Cinderace
would really love to see gengar

Scyther

I prefer x speed over eject button because it allows me to be everywhere I’m needed at any given time. The lower cool down allows for more usage and opportunities to make plays.
is this a team based or soloQ build/guide
As an decidueye main, i agree that decidueye has a lot weakness such as Buffy pokemon and mele pokemon etc.
I think the only other unite tuber I've ever seen propose Decidueye to be kitted out this way was Assassin Dave. Others just downplay him as free XP. Thanks for proving it otherwise.
Underated channel
Pls tell how do I evade when gengar units and comes directly to me pls if you have any way 😭
I love spirit shackle 💖
I know this is *really* late, but how does decidueye match up against trevenant? (my main)
while i want to start playing decidueye better, i also want to make sure i play against him correctly. love the video!
I agree with the build and even now in 2023 it helped me alout tho I do prefer potion better then eject it's saves me and my dad from loads of deths like we could exape deth some times
my dad's also a amazing sizor and I lost one game yesterday because of a troll player it was anoying
Fire vid bro definitely gonna check out the channel and binge some vids keep up the quality vids🙌
I just tried your guide to the T currently on your build I’m 7/10
I just grind coins for it and I wanna say one thing it's the best thing in my live
I have been using decidueye for a bit and am currently learning how to use him, hopefully this will help me.
(Update): that WORKED
More guides like this please :'
I think A detailed TTAR and Dragapult video would be a wonderful thing :)))
I'm hoping to make it to Masters some day
Muscle Band, Razor Clar, and Scope Lens??? Hey xD So I am using him Correctly then 😂 I used to be a Razor Leaf Decidueye main. It was Okay. most W's but there were some Loses. But, when I switched to Spirit Shackle... I have not Lost a Match since 😆 I am at my 26 Winstreak with him. Decidueye is so OP with Spirit Shackle 😆
Massive content bro. New follow
this was so well detailed!!
What a beautiful video
Dang, Imma go use this build to see how well I do
Update: Damn, took me two games to get used to the build, since I am very accustomed to its gameplay. This build got me five consecutive wins and all those, I was able to become Level 15 without costing the team.
👀
I'd like to see a scizor guide next, just subbed so I'll be waiting for it :)
You have converted me to deciduieyeism. I copped him then dropped a 41 kill tanker game in vet. I love him
I just think he’s super fun to play and I just like being a sniper
Plus I like birbs
Good guide! Can you give tips on dealing with those nasty speedsters?
