Falinks is such a sleeper pick, imagine if they got a Gigantamax form with the little dudes stacking up, Megazord style 🔥

It would be so funny if they did the gigantamax throwing motion and its just a regular falinks but standing on top of each other
like that scene in that Asterix & Obelix movie where the romans make a centaur mecha out of a testudo formation

Funny you should say that, on two separate occasions where i caught a Falinks, i called both of them "The boys" and the second time i did, i completely forgot i did the exact same thing before until i went to go back and check lol
The Water Absorb Cacturne really mattered in this match. The Switcheroo was also very important in limiting that Palafin.
Choice locking that Palafin prolly won him that match, not gonna lie.

Be thankful that no retreat is not on a Pokémon with simple as an ability
Simple beam on Falinks is funny as you get +2 to all stats and can then psych up to copy that boost onto your partner. It's far too much setup to be competitive but for a troll team it can be brutal

HERE IS THE REASON WHY ITS PRONOUNCED FAELINKS NOT FAHLINKS: the pokemon is based off a Roman phalinx. They literally say the real name in the anime too. THE OFFICIAL POKEMON ANIME

Agreed on the pronunciation, but the most famous users of the phalanx were the Greek city-states, not the Romans (though, early in their history, the Romans used it too.). Think the Sacred Band of Thebes, or the most evil of the city-states, the Spartans.
There was also the sarissa phalanx of the Macedonians, used as a pinning force by Alexander the Great.
The Romans used a variety of different combat systems, but their most famous and unique was probably the maniple, a more flexible system that requires a different weapon loadout than the hoplite phalanx, the famous Gladius sword and scutum shield, and a couple pila (javelins).
I know this is way more detail than is needed for a point about pronunciation, but I just love Classical history, and would like to share an introduction to the stuff I learned from way too many historian blogs and books.
You did a good job showing how useful Falinks can be but I can't get over the nickname Starbucks; it pretty much has Arbock in the name! 😂❤️✨
The intricacies of this move are so strange.
You can still get forced out and come back and use the move again.
You can use no retreat multiple times if you’re already given the “can’t escape” effect like from mean look.
Also, if you’re ghost type like from tera or trick or treat, you can still switch. Also shed shell allows you to switch too.
So many things. One thing i have yet to try is if you’re hazed you can use it again.

Hell yeah, love this man! I've got one for ya: Tera Fighting Adamant Greedent w/ Ganlon Berry, running Stuff Cheeks, Body Press, Crunch, and some other move. Stuff Cheeks gives it +2 Defense and lets it use the berry right away, Ganlon gives it another +1 Defense. Tera that boy and it smacks people.

Would Gunk Shot be better for Arbok, with Coil? I'm sure I remember you using one like that years ago, which was really cool. Scale Shot + Loaded Dice is always very fun though.
tbh, whenever I see a falinks use "No Retreat", I usually just send Cinderace after em and just knock em clean out with one pyro ball like bowling pins!

Honestly, we should be glad they didn't give this thing to Kingambit because that's honestly a very thematically appropriate move to its design and what it does... and there's no way it wouldn't get banned to Ubers if it did.
I don't think it's thematic at all. Kingambit is a coward who hides behind his troops while Falinks are a brave troop that charges head first into the enemy. No Retreat is probably the least fitting move to give Kingambit.
What is your Arbok EV investment/nature?
Shed Shell allows you to switch, it's my favorite way to juke people who thing I can't pull out lol

I would like to mention that Kommo-o does get something similar to No Retreat in Clangorous Soul, which isn't its Z-move but a downgraded version of it. Unlike No Retreat, it costs 1/3rd of max HP to use but it does mean that with a focus on HP restoration, Kommo-o can use the move over and over again, a shame it doesn't get power trip.
Gotta say I'm just so grateful you have a Cacturne, I always loved him! Still have mine from Black and White! 🥰
Here's an idea: no retreat can't stack if you get stuck because of the move. If you face a pokémon with shadow tag/arena trap or if you use mean look/block on falinks (double battles) you can stack no retreats.

Sometimes GF changes abilities and stats or just gives mons a new evolution. So there’s still hope.
