I LOVE my HB916. I also struggled with the Butty Box at first. You’ve got to press the lever down hard, then twist. Takes a little bit of getting used to. I also went for Fox 38s and DHX2 Coil on the rear which are really easy to set up. I run it both Mullet and full 29er and find mullet works really well for local riding, and 29er is best for chomping miles and fast/ rough stuff. Best bike I’ve ever owned!

Good lil review. I own a 916 too, fully agree with the butty box door being a nightmare to use. Odd your mate said he has no "shelf" in the compartment - there should be a bracket which routes the cabling and acts as a shelf. it bolts on thru the downtube protector into the compartment so Im unsure how his isnt in there as the downtube protector would fall off if it wasnt installed inside. If he contacts Hope or his dealer they will send him out the handmade Hope storage bag as well for the downtube for free. There was a delay in sending these out from launch. Love my 916 but wont be surprised if a version 1.2 comes out addressing the issues. A mate who owns one as well just wore/snapped the idler pulley wheel after 1000 miles so something to watch for. Great to see another review on the 916 though 👍

Amazing.. thanks for the information, I'll pass that on to Lee. I'd love one of these they look awesome and seemed to have sped up my mate on the downhills. Thanks again for watching and taking the time to comment 👍🤟🙌

the new sram stuff doesn't fit on these despite using the udh, bit of an oversight imo
