Definitely would run longer dropper. Hope manufacturers won't see this as a trend and won't start limiting drop distace. For me it is 180 full slammed at minimum
@@plainuser48596 He's a small dude....maybe 5'6"ish. So he doesn't need a longer dropper at his size. I do ride with some smaller friends around his size that run the same and one who likes a 175, it's all personal.
Change? The paint!!! If you’re going with a two tone, fade the colors. The abrupt change from one to the other is ugly. So many bike companies go two tone as well…
This is the content GMBN Tech should be striving for. Not like 99% of most video bike checks where people are just reeling off the manufacturer names (e.g. ahhh yehhh got Shimano drivetrain, it's sick! Got Fox suspension, so goooood).
every bike should be custom! Not to this level but, it should be yours! Enjoyed the detailed explanation to his setup for him not other riders or racers. My point is doesn't matter weather your a pro a beginner or in between there's probably going to be something that flies in the face of what should be best yet works great for you!
Love your videos. I’m such a nerd with things and it’s nice to get some detailed info. I‘ve been wanting to get a bike for some time now! Have you got any tips on buying a bike (can you get too much of a bike? Are some bikes more forgiving than others?) I sat on one of these and fell in love then I jumped off begrudgingly when I got told the price 🤣
@@gmbntech if i was going to paint my own bike it would be a camo pattern using pastel's as my color scheme. Doesn't show scratches like bright colors. But i could do a bright color pattern too. Just couldn't show up on a pink bike.
What do you think of Joe's bike? Would you change any parts?

The paint job isn't my personal fav.
Fascinatingly uninteresting.

I agree. A shame that so many ppl can’t afford to personalize their bikes to this level tho
Great content. Dont apologise for the detail its fantastic to listen to the thought rational of pro's
Looks awesome!!! Great insight and set up explanation. Great segment!!!!
Thank you - we'll try and do more!
Cheers

Awesome Episode! love getting the insight into custom set-ups
Joe really knows his stuff eh!
@gmbntech he is pretty handy at riding them too 😆
Awesome feedback - thank you!
We'll try and do more in the future!

Purple bikes rule! 👍🏻
I want more suspension and tire talk from a bunch of guys to keep it interesting
Hope need to release those lever blades!
Pretty sure Joe actually has a custom front triangle too with a different carbon build up. Man knows what he wants.
Very fascinating. I have same bike but so very different!
Great interview Owen. And well explained too Joe. The frame looks like a Transition or may a Norco. Very nice.
Thank you!
Amazed how low the pressures are. What width are the tyres?
Anytime Joe Barnes changes his bike set up i end up looking at mine a little different. Thanks guys!
Joe Barnes just looks right wearing shorts, a t-shirt, and an open face helmet.
Joe is an absolutely top bloke
Thing is sooo sick. Joe is the kind of dude you feel like you've known for years and would just get along with 😅

We want to see more of these vids. More in depth vids abt custom bikes
We'll try our best - thanks for the feedback!

That was really cool. I would like to see more of these. Only 18 psi up front and no inserts, wow. Suggestion Owen, next time 2 mics 🙂
The paint scheme reminds me of NERDS candy. I like it !
I thought it was a Norco Shore. Sir your cable is hanging out of your OneUp dropper lever!
I thought it was a Norco Shore from the thumbnail
Not bad at all! Price? Guessing 15k guid?
Eu gosto de vídeo desse formato apenas uma bicicleta por vez. Quando é várias bicicletas não fica atraente!
yep yep
Not bad.
Wait, Hope makes bikes?
Yes, where have you been for the last 10 years.
@@8o8ertmtb Honestly, absent for about 7, started riding again about 3 years ago and never heard Hope makes bikes. The more you know I guess.
its a trek slash ??
It's a Hope HB916
Cheers
Owen
The colors look like the Norco Shore
Love the setup specs! The 740 bar is key 👍🏻 these Muppets who run 780 and 800 are not only very silly but very ill informed.
YOOO 5 MINS AGO UNDER 100 VIEWS LESS GOOOO
early!
I just put air in my tires till they feel hard to the squeeze
Hope make bars but he’s not running Hope bars…
Aside from OneUp sponsorship, I reckon the OneUp bars are preferable because they have nicer damping.
LGBT color bike
Looks like my sisters bike.
Me? I don't do pink.
What colour would you paint it?
Not transition mustard, my friend has a Sentinel and it's 🤮
