    Slugs require high power air rifles to see the magic happen

      I just ordered some for my mini cannon powered by 12ga primers.... the pellet skirts keep blowing out so im gonna try some slugs with that solid base

      Thats true but you still see very good and surprising performance with em out of a springer

    Good video ... but slugs needs way more power ! Try shooting the slugs at around 950 fps and you will see the diffetence 👍🏼

      What about 17.5g NSA slugs out of my Hatsan 125 Vortex break barrel that’s shoots 31/FPE? I’m sure the pellets will be faster and more accurate but I’m curious what they would Chrony at and even more important what is the optimal diameter 22 slug for the Magnum Hatsan 125 Vortex in .22

      @@greg6162 I have the same question except I have the hatsan .25 cal rifle the synthetic cheap one. Been wanting to shoot some slugs but don't wanna mess the gun up and don't wanna waste money if they not gonna work. Did you try them in yours yet?

    In general most air rifles are more precise with pellets. Slugs are not as forgiving and are more difficult to stabilize. They are picky and pellets far more forgiving. With some work and very good slugs + right twist + well made barrel + regulator etc you can come close to pellet precision. The higher 100 FPS velocity + higher BC help them at longer ranges where pellets fall off quickly. They are not going to give you .204 ruger like precision or power. Need to keep your fantasies in check here.
    Slugs do not pull away from pellets until 100+ yards and for that you need a very good barrel, the right twist rate and the right velocity and adjustable regulator and more fiddling around to dial it in.
    You don't want to be transonic as the resistance and turbulence is much higher for any type of projectile. But you can shoot slugs faster than pellets by maybe 100 fps. 960fps range. Its not about power with air guns its more about accuracy as none of them have much power. And if you want more power you will eat air and spend your time filling up air tanks. At that point go to rim fire or center fire.

    Where if your test for accuracy in your underlever?
    We all know what slugs can do in terms of expansion and penetration but what we don't know is how accurate is it out of a springer.

    Try a longer range, as slugs are for a further distance looks like that rifle is only pushing about 9/10 flbs

    Slugs like fire arm rounds need high velocities, In my opinion they will only really work in "Non Regulated" PCP rifles. You will be able to get "high" velocity out of the magnum springers but try get a good group at range with a Crazy Magnum break barrel. Almost impossible. I played with crazy powerful PCP's and managed to tune a Evanix to push a 16g 177 pellet through an inch thick wood. Have fun with your PCP's guys. I sold mine and went back to old school spring Air Arms and Weihrauch with 8.44 JNB pellets.

    • @michaelbritain5546

      @philliplabuschagne5508 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@johnnypopovich905 Yes sure, what grain slug do you shoot out of your break barrel. Anything over 10grains on .177 springer drops way to much over 20m. Talk is cheap ashole making comments I must set my scope. It has been proven over and over that 8.44g is the best weight to be accurate with a .177 springer. FX Air Rifles have only put refilling at the end of their barrels to increase velocity and create enough spin on a slug. So talking slugs and spring rifles you don't know shit. Prove me wrong do a video where you shoot your heavy slugs at 30m and lets see your shit grouping and you probably have a 400mm hold over at 20m. So absolutely useless in a low powered speinger.

    You shouldn’t be able to load a pellet before cocking the spring. The piston should be putting pressure on the rotary breach.

    His ears in about 1,000 feet per second rifle though, it's not the speed of the rifle it is the wrong type he needs a PCP rifle with a different type of barrel for these pellets to function right and perform just the same as a gunpowder powered slug, creator of this video I hope you see this oh, try to get a better rifle you're going to have to start in the $600 range on pcps do if you want to fire slugs effectively
