Again you prove how hold sesative a break barrel can be, I was thinking of you today while shooting my Gamo Swarm Fusion Gen2 in 22 caliber. I was shooting 10 shot groups and getting 1/2 to 3/4 inch at 25 yards . But at 40 yards the groups spread to 1/14 inch. I wondered what James would do. You do have us thinking out here.
Exactly what I found. I bought a Beeman R9 about twenty years ago. I went about bench resting it like a rimfire rifle. I was about to return it until I found that it needed to be held , not just sitting in a nest. Shooting springers requires a different technique than firearms or a pcp. Springers are always ready to go, but I really get my shooting jolly’s with pcp’s. Good vid James. Important info.
I think to make slugs work for break barrels they would have to be light. I think that if someone made a slug out of a lead free alloy like the gamo pba it would get the weight down and make them more comparable to a heavy pellet weight wise.
Good afternoon. In Trinidad and Tobago we only have smooth bore air rifles, Have you ever used Slugs in a smooth bore air rifle? if so what were the results? Thanks
Can you tell what grain slugs were you shooting. Please also tell that if i use slugs in .22 beeman grizzly x2 will it damage the spring or the gun itself or not
You should try some NSA 17.5 grain slugs . 25 grain seems pretty heavy . You could probably get a lot more speed out of the lighter slugs . I have the magnum and I am going to give them a go .
Was that a 21 grain 217 or a heavier grain ? Also was velocity measured at the muzzle or down range? I just ordered some 218 21 grains for my gamo 22 magnum gen 2. I didnt see a slug sampler pack offered where I ordered my slugs from.
I just ordered a Gamo Swarm Magnum gen3 10mag break barrel (.177) and ordered these some h&n rabbit magnum 15something grains. I dont understand why they would not work, or why they dont recommend it. The rifle is more then powerful enough at 1650 fps What am I missing?
If it is a magnum and not a maxim you need heavier pellet, that's what a magnum needs. Don't forget it's a break barrel and with 45 joules you need the heaviest pellets in .177 you can get to avoid breaking the sound barrier. JSB has the diabolo exact beast 16.20 grain and h&n has slugs 20 grain. Maybe you should try these 👍
Hey James - Fantastic Vids! I have the Swarm Whisper and wonder if you recommend that ADE Zero Recoil mount? It has crummy reviews online, but I trust your take more than Joe Shmoe's. I have a 4-16x44 CVLife scope and am concerned I've trashed it. Love to get your honest take on this mount, whether it holds zero ok and really protects the mounted scope. TY!
I have never seen a scope mount like that😳 It don't mess your eye relief up we're it seemed to slide so easy? Be interested to hear more about that scope/ mount set up😃😃😃
I have a Hatsan .25 break barrel the cheapest one and I have used all different slugs the hollow points hybrid is the most accurate at 50 yards at 26g I used a 42 grain .25 and did some awesome damage not good after 30 yards in accuracy
Great review James, not only is the accuracy excellent, but also shockingly the speed is admirable for shooting a slug in a break barrel.

Thanks for sharing for knowledge just got my break barrel a few days ago and already smacking dimes at 30 yards

I have not, but from experience with firearms, slugs will keyhole in the target with a smooth barrel

I agree I have 17.5 slugs from Nielsen I'm going to make a video using my Gamo swarm bone collector Gen 2 and see how it do on my next hunt
They are accurate and come out hot . Not sure if the fps but they work well . Especially the pellet skit bottom ones .
Hi, best pellet for Diana 350 magnum 5.5? About.
Bro jsb
Where you using the .217 or .218 version of that slug?
217
Have you tried Apex sulgs? My crosman vantage really likes the 40gr and the 36gr.
I have not

I've found the same thing with my break barrel. I get better groups shooting off hand than I do in a rest.
I ain't worth a crap with a springer at all. I'll have to try this again. I can't see is half the problem I think. And I don't have a scope on mine.
Would like to see the fps and fpe
Check out griffin slugs. I’ve had decent results with several of my springers.

Great review & shooting. Always good info
Granted that was a nice grouping but it was still six miles off the target.
They fit into the magazine okay
Evansville here. Love your channels man. Very informative stuff. Getting into airgun hunting this year for an additional challenge.
I have never seen a scope mount like that😳

Ya I shot them out of a Mach 1 and they sucked. I’ll have to check my hold.
They also make a 13gr version, why didn’t you use that? Seems much more appropriate for the power of the rifle.
475 ft./s? You might want to diesel those to get the velocity up to at least 600 - 700. FPS. Then you’d really be cooking!
25 gr at 475 fps, Could you please translate that into fpe? Im not sure how to figure that. Thanks.
12.5fpe

Excellent jod.
Great job!
Very nice 👌👍
That's 100% not PCP accuracy!!!😆🤣🤣 Horrible!😆
Unbelievably bad!😢
They suck in a break barrel or did in my gun accuracy was horrible
👍

Ok i understand the groups are good but why won't you adjust to hit the target not trying to be funny but i just dont know .btw i love your vids bro
