I believe you'll like it more than City give or take, not the switch version though. I think the graphics and the way they handled the style of this game was incredible. The gameplay has been enhanced. Where it gets iffy is in a certain amount of repetition in some forced sections, but you should have full of surprises throughout the game. But there may be a little missed potential somewhere. So minus any inconsistencies or missed potential, I think that Knight hits hardest. It's a dream come true if you can see it for what it is. You just have to let it be itself more than you expect it to be the way you want. I personally don't think anything can beat Asylum minus gameplay enhancements, and I mean overall as a full package. Thanks for the video, Shawn. Although there will be a lot of folks talking about how the port of Arkham Knight struggles on the switch's aging hardware, I really appreciate that you point out that that it is not like there are not graphically demanding games on the switch. For me, this points to be a bigger issue in gaming for every platform, which is consumer apathy and how that is exploited. If we look at the issue of ports, we tend to think that this is what the developers could do with the system they were programing for. However, this assumption lets a lot of people only concerned about making off the hook. We should be asking is this the best that could be done, and if not, shouldn't we demand that they go back and do it right? Was Metal Gear the best that could be done, or was it an exploitation of player apathy? How about the switch version of MK1? Hogwarts Legacy is fun and all, but really: at 16 GB on an 8 GB card--is that the best that could be done? They couldn't work on textures, lighting, and shadows to put the game on a 16GB card and have consumers download the last 8 GB? Was it not going to get any better than this for Arkham Knight? No. I think the team needed more time and more resources. They got a little more time and this is what the consumers got. WB game division CEOs got a boost for the holidays because they cut development costs, got the game out, and you all bought it whether you complained about or not, because consumer apathy is a MF. he same could be said about the Sony marketing strategy: We did not hit our targets, so let's raise the price on Playstation Plus. We'll loose some subscriptions, but overall people will complain, but they are apathetic, so they'll just put up with being gouged. Consumer apathy is a MF.
Disappointed they couldn't fix Knight with this version. I tried PS4 and halfway through it just started force closing all the time. With that said I i feel Knight was always the weakest entry because the Batmobile stuff was awful. We all anticipated finally being able to drive it and it just turns out to be mainly used for puzzles and tank play and I think they did it too much.
I passed on this trilogy on my switch and purchased it for my PS five for eight dollars on the PSN store. I have a PlayStation portal and the games were fantastic and look fantastic on it.

Minus away the gaming pc handhelds which have only just appear in the last few years the switch software librabt size and the graphics it produce is still commendable and admirable. I did a quick run on Arkham Asylum and City and I dig them both... I've actually played Arkham Knight the most extensively and am completely satisfied playing on my Switch. While the Switch is not as powerful as the Playstation and Xbox, it definitely holds it's own with ALL THREE games. As far as i know, it's only available to buy as a bundle. If the Switch is your primary console, or if you prefer handheld, this game is definitely worth the buy. So don't let this critique scare you off if you don't mind paying 60 bucks for a game.... even if it is YEARS OLD and you've been waiting for it to come to this console. My 17 year old son, who has a PS5 (We have all three and Origins on the Xbox series x) actually took over my Switch and LOVES it on the Switch.
You don’t have those Spider-Man games without Arkham city. It’s the foundation for combat, world building, fast exploration and mass amounts of content
Yeah sorry kid.....You don't have the Arkham games without Spider-man....I know people love to drone on having no clue what they're taking about BUT......Spider-man has been using that style of combat since Spider-man 2 The movie on PS2. Every single Spider-man game has not only used that combat, but has refined that combat with each game since Spider-man 2 the movie, the game. I don't know where people get this delusion that somehow Arkham invented their combat, when they just literally borrowed it from the several Spider-man games that all existed before Arkham Asylum.
Your arguments will hold water when I see a remastered Spider-Man 2 movie game… until then. I’m pretty sure they’ll continue remastering the games that actually mattered.
@@lutherheggs451 yeah Spidey was first, Batman Arkham perfected the battle style mechanics but Arkham was originally a 3d Metroidvania and not so much a freeroamer like Spidey and that is were they differed. Playing in order and just hoping they update Arkham Knight by the time I get to it which the way I play will probably be in a year
I can't help but feel this was intentionally done so that the publishers would be guaranteed a certain amount of money per sale as selling individually would've meant people are less inclined to buy all 3 especially since Arkha Knight isn't performing well on the system.
For sure! If they were sold individually I would have just picked up Asylum and worked my way through but I have been looking forward to playing these for so long I just figured for me it was worth it. It all comes down to who is doing the porting for these third-party ports on switch. Nobody expects to switch version to be on par with the Xbox series X or PS5, but it should be at least on par with what it would’ve been on Xbox 360 or PS3, as the switch is comparable to those consoles in power and performance.

This honestly saddens me. I was really looking forward to the trilogy on Switch. Honestly think I’m gonna pass on it now unless they manage to patch up the performance of Arkham Knight. Developers who are looking to port their games to the Switch should honestly have a meeting with Panic Button, since they managed to port Doom Eternal to the Switch beautifully.
Honestly Knight doesn't run well but it's on Switch so I'm willing to deal with some of the problems but the game basically stuttering when you're driving the Batmobile is kind of a deal breaker since so much of the game involves the Batmobile. That being said I'm not disappointed in my purchase because im playing Arkham Batman games while waiting on my gf in the store. That's a win.
Only booted up Asylum so far. Sor faer nothin too buggy happened except for a sneaking park and a prisoner stared at me and didnt detect me. Been having a great time otherwise!
I definitely would have bought them if they were individual physical releases. I do love the games (on pc for me). On the fence if I will pick it up as is.
The good is these games are now fully portable and can be play anywhere you want as long as you got a switch. The bad is all three games can be buy on the other consoles at very cheap prices as they go on sales often and they are better versions than switch's ones. The ugly is self explanatory. It look and perform worse on switch with downgrades. But all in all it is still good news to have these good games on switch which you can play anywhere you want.
RGT... Dude, Check the eshop on this game much closer! The games ARE listed separate, BUT... Cannot be bought separate, you have to buy the Trilogy! I believe they put them up there like that, so the specs for each can be looked at individually...
My only issue throughout was the Batmobile in Arkham knight. Arkham knight was not meant to run on the switch but I still think they did a decent job considering the only problems I had with it were crashing in the Batmobile and framerate drops.
I agree with you that Arkham City is ultimately just as good as game as the Spider-Man games but of course I don't own a Playstation 5 at the moment so I can't play Spider-Man 2 but man I want too!
I don't see why there would be any problem with Arkham City, it was on the WiiU. There are a lot of WiiU games that were ported to the Switch. All we are missing is Lego Batman 3. 1 & 2 would be nice to get also ...lol
I had always wanted to play Asylum and City but never could since I mainly own Nintendo consoles. When I heard they were getting switch ports I got excited but cautious since Nintendo ports don’t have the greatest reputation. Thankfully Asylum and City were a lot of fun to play through even though I’m not that good at the combat. I haven’t played Knight as of me writing this but expected it to be the worst one of the collection. Doesn’t bother me too much since I only really wanted to play the first two games.
I feel like developers have secret meetings where they challenge each other to port games to the switch. Sometimes its a hit n other times... well you know lol. They got to keep one-upping each other so you know Resident Evil 4 Remake is on the way lol
Nintendo fans are truly the worst. Can’t believe how many times I’ve had to read “this is my first time playing so and so game that’s over 10 years old.” As if you didn’t have the opportunity thousands of times
As much as your trashing on Knight, it is incredible for Switch. Has anyone seen the MK1 port? For the switch, Knight is probably the best looking game out there. It is a miracle this game runs at all. Good damn job to the people that had to make the Knight port.
You know what? The company that made these ports should hire Grove Street Games to fix them up, with attention to Batman: Arkham Knight, of course. I gotta say, GSG really fixed up their reputation after a "lazy" GTA Trilogy HD port. They ended up correcting history by fixing all their GTA Trilogy issues via patches and proved their abilities by jumping on a project to fix Ark: Survival for Nintendo Switch. Thanks to Grove Street Games, Ark: Survival no longer looks like a smudged oil painting anymore due to their many improvements. It now has increased resolution, upscaled textures, runs @ stable 30fps, is compatible with dedicated server rental (to host your own 24/7 server with your own rulesets), AND finally supports all DLC from the other platforms. They did it before and I'd bet they could do it again! RGT, like you said, there are many other games/ports on Switch with equal graphical fidelity to Batman: Arkham Knight... those games run completely fine. There's no real reason the game should have that amount of stuttering and frame-skipping. The bat-mobile scenes really do look quite unplayable. I'm glad I bought it for PS4 Pro instead. It's a shame because portable gaming is crazy fun... with a little more time I'm sure they could fix it up with patches or something.

But I think that Knight cranks it up to 11 to the point where it deserves its crown. I honestly think all 3 of them deserve a crown. I just might have given the jewel on top to Knight if it was more what I wanted.
@@Solid-Lion_Official thanks a lot for putting all that down into words for me…… I’ve already completed Asylum and City a good while ago but I’m starting with Asylum I might skip straight to Knight after that I’m not sure I may play a little of City but I didn’t didn’t enjoy anywhere near as much as Asylum and the challenge wasn’t there either.
@@johnhall8564 You're welcome. That might be ideal since you already finished City in the past at least so long as you remember how it ended, and believe it or not Knight is more directly relevant to Asylum than City. I just recommend you play the Batgirl DLC first if you feel up to it because it's actually a prequel to Asylum. It'll give you a nice taste of the gameplay also before you jump in to the main campaign. It's not long either, you should have it done in about an hour or so.
@@Solid-Lion_Official Thanks for the advice I will indeed play the Batgirl DLC first 👍 I don’t quite remember the ending of City unfortunately I just remember fighting Solomon Grundy at the end……. I just thought they had too many villains in the game personally seemed overkill to me.
Thanks for this vid. I only own a switch. Just bought this bundle for $29 on sale and starting ARKHAM CITY for the first time tonight!
It is said a few times here that we should only buy one or two of the titles here, but they are not being sold separately.

I really do not have much complaints with a Nintendo switch because despite it having outdated hardware at this point it is still one heck of a portable handheld system capable of giving people a full console game experience in the palm of the hands with a very vast library of games to explore.
Minus away the gaming pc handhelds which have only just appear in the last few years the switch software librabt size and the graphics it produce is still commendable and admirable. Price of a switch is very wallet friendly too.
I think the collection, 3 games, on the PS4/5 right now is 6 bucks. Forget this crap.
Beside that fps drop in batmobile gameplay, the game running smoothly on switch

That is not true, Spiderman 2 on the GC/PS2/XB was first in open world exploration but the combat wasnt as great.
But since Arkham City, Batman Arkham became a open world series.
But Spidey was first and Spiderman 2 on PS2 is a legendary game, it really exist on its own outside of the movie its based on.

Two things I’ve been playing Arkham asylum 59% of the way through going for 100% I’ve noticed minor frame drops and some slowdown when more enemies are on screen but the one huge drop I got was when your leaving botanical gardens and ivys plants block your way out my game went from a solid 30 to straight 3-5 frames. playing in the original switch dunno if the oled and original have any impact of the game tho.
nah OLED does the same, I was saying same thing im like how is the gardens this choppy but city has no issues.. again tho i enjoyed those 2 Knight is God awful.

I’m loving the game just because I never had the chance to play them and I only have a Switch.

It all comes down to who is doing the porting for these third-party ports on switch. Nobody expects to switch version to be on par with the Xbox series X or PS5, but it should be at least on par with what it would’ve been on Xbox 360 or PS3, as the switch is comparable to those consoles in power and performance.
For those wanting a handheld portable experience of the Batman Arkham Trilogy then it is best played on Steam Deck OLED. It runs all of these games flawlessly at 60 + fps and medium to high settings.

How did you only get one game? The other are showing "Not available for purchase" in the shop?
I definitely would have bought them if they were individual physical releases. I do love the games (on pc for me). On the fence if I will pick it up as is.
Does anyone think future patches will be able to help them out ?
No, this isn’t a matter of performance. This is a matter of a game, being too big and operating at a faster pace than games like the Witcher
Patches will help for certain. How much they can help remains to be seen
Lol you're talking about a 2017 hardware that was built for 2013 graphics, tryna play games that needed 2016 graphics
All the games besides Knight looks fantastic!!
If that's the kind of gameplay that gets your riled up, Hogwarts on switch will make you straight up suicidal 😆😆
You’d be an idiot to buy this collection on switch for 60, when it’s available elsewhere for cheaper. looks and plays far better too.

Nintendo fans are truly the worst. Can’t believe how many times I’ve had to read “this is my first time playing so and so game that’s over 10 years old.” As if you didn’t have the opportunity thousands of times
I don’t get it with these companies leaving out “every game”, look at the DBZ Budokai collection, they left out 2 and only included 1 and 3.
That was weird, i wonder why
As much as your trashing on Knight, it is incredible for Switch. Has anyone seen the MK1 port? For the switch, Knight is probably the best looking game out there. It is a miracle this game runs at all. Good damn job to the people that had to make the Knight port.
It does need some patches though.
I think they should have used a different studio for this
You know what?
