Finally an unbiased (not paid for) review. We test drove the GXL and what a massive disappointment. It drives like a Prado, you know, trucky harsh ride, it’s bonnet ripples in the breeze, it has plastic under body protection, infotainment screen is complex, it’s smaller than the 200 (or at least feels it) and finally, the price - horrendously expensive at around $115,000 drive away. And that’s with cloth seats with no electric adjustment. We bought a TI Patrol for $30,000 cheaper and got power, electric leather seats and a solid capable vehicle.
Really liked the value proposition of the Patrol! And the 8 cyl in that is 😩🥵
@@CarSauce Yep, I’d rather spend a few dollars more in fuel and get that grunty V8 sound and feel, plus the feeling of being in a ‘solid’ car, not an aluminium panelled, plastic undercarriage overpriced ‘Toy’ - ota. $30,000 in purchase price savings is going to get me a hell of lot further too.

@@LAMethWitch That will remain unexplainable to me. Everyone over 6'1 who test drove it was truly surprised with the lack of space, and leg position discomfort.

My last cruiser was a 100 series, and I intend to keep it that way. Toyota banks heavily on the “reliability” monicker and as a consequence has slowly been losing the plot when it comes to keeping up with technology along with a distinct lack of value for money. You certainly pay a lot for not that much.
Totally agree, the 80 and 100 series were more robust and repairable in the field than the 200 and now the very frill ridden 300.
But they probably impress when doing the suburban school run in metroland in VX and Sahara trim.
But how will the white seats look in the red dust of outback stations in Australia although many rural people love them.
My opinion, it's pretty hard to beat the 4.2 turbo six for reliability, however I guess in a 200 the GX would be my choice, less stuff to mess up or go wrong, comes with factory snorkle and mostly a rear wheel carrier, oh and rubber floor!
Just my take!
If you still drive 100 series then your problem is not lack of tech but complaining. I mean, we say all we say but Toyota sells LC more than bmw sells x5 or Nissan sells patrols. That’s for a reason. If you bought a bmw x5 I am sure you wouldn’t be with it by now.
I honestly couldn’t part with that sort of cash for such an average vehicle

On the money with the review, everyone else is truly just pleasing Toyota’s PR department
Everyone now complains about Toyota pricing but really they are to blame for the inflated pricing ... Toyota charges what they charge because they can.
the saving grace is that landcruisers are worth something after 5 years ...can be serviced anywhere in Australia and rarely cause issues that BMW and Audi present..I m speaking from ownership around a million km in landcruisers...no repairs to speak of and great resale and yes lots and lots of offroad

$144k for a Sahara and not even a rear diff lock. C'mon Toyota, rear diff locks are standard fit on many 4WD's that are only 1/3 the price of this Sahara!
Japanese is good at cutting and saving in history of car design.
Weird, i got rear lock and my dad has the higher model with both front and back diff lock

Great review. You forgot one thing. The unpainted bumper bar. I could get a painted bumper on a 200 series GXL but to not have it finished off nicely on a 300 series is a disgrace let alone a Sahara 300 series. I was on the wait list as we bought a new van which is due soon. We sold our 200 series recently due to km’s on it. After test driving the 300 series we were very underwhelmed. The gear changes were clunky. The power didnt seem light years ahead of the 200 at all. The tyres are now skinnier at 265 instead the 200’s 285. Fuel tank is down from 138 to 110 litres. The cabin feels smaller. Second row cant be slid forward or back and then theres the unpainted bumpers. We will be cancelling our order tomorrow. We went out this afternoon and picked up a 2021 200 series with 1000km on the clock. Yes we paid slightly more than when it was new but only by a couple of grand. We are very happy to have found one and we are more at ease again as the 300 left us feeling uncomfortable with parting with that much money and not feeling like it was worth that much. For the years it has taken them to develop this car and the money invested we just dont think its that far more advance then a late model 200 series. Just my thoughts. And mine only probably. But hey, to those who are blown away by the 300. Enjoy it. Glad it makes it you happy. But for us, the 200 makes us happy.

I've commented in other reviews on some of the off-roading design shortfalls of the 300 and this is the first time I've seen a proper view of the positioning of the fuel filter. Ignoring how poorly positioned this is for off-road use, this is going to be a major problem for anyone travelling the outback. The rocks on any outback road will destroy this fuel filter in no time at all and if you can't replace it because everything had been destroyed, you are up the proverbial creek.
I guess there will soon be an aftermarket bash plate available but it might make getting at the spare harder.
@@cliveedmead2091 Any aftermarket manufacturer worth their salt will be pondering making such a protective plate, or looking at ways to better locate the fuel filter. There are many already looking at how to install a second battery, as well as putting on larger tyres. All three will be a challenge and probably not cheap when finalised. I wonder what they will do about the intercooler location/s? Sitting low on either side of the front bumper is asking for trouble.

Interesting....I'll say it up front. I'm a toyota owner. Celica, Prado and currently a 200 series. Unbelievably reliable!! And they get the job done.
A patrol has a better diff. But that vehicle is less refined and consumes gazillions litres of fuel. And being a petrol engine torque and power are further up the rev range. I love my 200. Engine is amazing and has given quite reasonable economy. Quality control is first class. Resale is terrific. Parts, if ya ever need them are everywhere. Service intervals are reasonable(ish). But servicing costs are quite reasonable(Toyota servicing) and my vehicle is serviced promptly and ON TIME. My cruiser has just hit 215,000km. And runs like a clock. I live in country Vic and getting around(ANY distance) is effortless. Road noise is very low. Don't have to yell to talk to someone. It just gets things done with no fuss. I have driven the 300 series. It's definately an improvement, but I don't feel compelled to rave out and buy one. Thanks for the review.
Absolutly, i love this car. I don't like BMW x5 and Audi Q8 . Nissan Petron is a sht car. My friend has it and he always complaints about it being so noisy. Landcruiser has its own class. I am buying VX in a couple of months :)
@@Dahiya007 I'm with you. I'm not aware of a Beamer or Audi that actually has low range. Let alone ground clearance, reliability, reasonable service pricing(own a BMW or AUDI and they automatically think your loaded). in saying that ya probably are cos you'll need it to get it serviced each time ya rock up at your local Beamer or Audi dealer. My 200 is sooo quiet. As for the Nissan, fuel economy to start with, after all it's petrol. I'm into a VX too! Enjoy 😃

I like the traditional analog instrument cluster... The instrument cluster on this Toyota LandCruiser is simple, easy to read, and looks great.. Don't know why everyone always wants to change something that works fine. Most Digital instrument clusters that I have seen are harder to read/use and are worse than traditional analog instrument clusters they replace.
Because you have not seen a decent LCD cluster before? Once I got used it I don't like watching an analog cluster when the space can show more info as I wish. The problem with cluster used in the LC300 is that the speedo meter is too fine. How it reads up to 260km/h ?? The car can travel probably up to 180 Km/h so the grid should be widened so we can read more accurately.

@@hwangedward That's the speed of the engine not the wheels. Just like how power from the flywheel is different from wheel horse power.
Each to their own but looks like our 200 series will be the last vehicle we buy.

Thanks for the great honest based review. I bought the last allocated 200 for Australia, a '21 200 which is my second car so only 2200 k's and actually never seen a rain drop or wet road lol. Mint condition as I adore the thing.
My first impression of the 300 was the looks. It doesn't appeal to me as the 200. I admit everything is for sale at a good price but it'll be insanely difficult to convince me to sell it to upgrade to the 300. The new V6's power hype doesn't convince me at all. It's basically a more highly strung engine to produce slightly more torque and kilowatts while still meeting strict emission laws. Takes very little money spent to wake up the V8 and have it destroy the V6, reliably. V8 hands down. Excellent running gear without a doubt and IMO, great looks with the 200 and years down the track, way less electronic issues.
That's excellent to hear. I'm planning for a good low mileage 2020 lc200 over the 300. Will save a bit of money. I think it looks so much better and less to go wrong. And I really want the v8. Hopefully I'll keep it for at least 20 years and by then I may consider getting a 3 year old 400 series over the 500
Finally, a review that mentioned the loss of the split rear door. This was a land cruiser staple for year and years. It just smacks of cost cutting and it’s a shame as it’s so useful (was).
Split tailgates have their downside too.
If it's cost cutting then the car should be cheaper then ay

you don't need front/rear lockers on the 300 series. traction control is pretty good enough at sending power to the wheels with traction. you probably got stuck because of the road tires or ground clearance. as it can be seen on the video, the wheels were spinning, which simply means that they didn't have enough traction.
It would be a worry if the 300 needed to be triple locked to drive through that puddle.
Agreed, lockers wouldn't of helped in that puddle. It simply ran out of ground clearance. You can see in video where the diff has bottomed out on the centre hump causing the wheels to hang in the air. I think a Y62 has about 50mm more ground clearance and no diff pumpkin to catch up on as does all the Land Rover products with air suspension.

Finally, an honest review! Having owned a few Cruisers over the years, I would have to buy the sports version for the the sort of things I expect a Landcruiser to do . All of a sudden my existing car - 100 series - seems like exceptional value.
Love the honest review Matt. I have ordered a 300, still waiting. I’m upgrading from a Prado, I have 4 kids and tow a tool trailer ever day. We test drove the 300 and were really happy with the way it handled, very similar to Prado but much more room and power. I was looking at 200 series but way to expensive for a second hand car, they feel outdated and drive like a tank. The 300 series isn’t perfect but it will definitely suit our needs, I’m not wanting a V8 or high tech just strong reliability, space and resale value. Cheers.
No such thing as an honest review they are all just someones opinion.usually the people who dont like them are comparing them to bmw and range rover ect hardly a fare comparison concidering either of those vehicles would last 12 months in aussie outback

Great review! Very honest. Regarding the price: Here in Ireland, that machine is € 150k . I recently bought my wife a well speced BMW X5 45e, with near 400 hp for €94k. 0-100km in 5.6 seconds. On a recent round trip of 260km, 114.3 was on battery alone. ( NOTE no charger when we arrived at our destination, so return was petrol only, still got 6.1l/100km). I know, BMW X5 Sport, no match for the Toyota off road……. But I have a jeep for that- a real JEEP WRANGLER. BTW, you cannot be a farmer in Ireland without a Toyota Prado, at least that’s what I think you call it in AUS. It just a Landcruiser here. ( almost NO One , buys the 300). I have friends that have run them for 500k

I moved from a 200 series 2 VX to a 300 VX a few months ago.
Why can't it memorise what settings I had last time I drove it for next time? The lane assist comes on every time even though it was turned off last time. The map comes on even though I don't use it and always have the audio screen on.
The toggles for the volume control on the steering wheel are awkward and there is no rotary dial on the dash for the alternate volume control.
Why can't the speed be accurate? The car reading is two km out compared to GPS. At least it's less bad than the 200 for that.
I miss my split tailgate a lot.
But overall, the 300 is an incremental improvement for mine. Radar cruise is nice. It is probably slightly quieter and smoother on the highway. The steering on the 200 was a touch heavy and the 300 is not heavy.
Well, I like the way you criticize or give comments on this unit. It was a straightforward one. It really helps to decide what to buy.
A truly genuine review of this Toyota. Not a city/suburban, vehicle at all. 👍👍👍
Let us be honest guys. For the intended purpose of this LC300, long distance cruises and moderate off-roading, it definitely gets the job done. It definitely struggles in some serious off-road settings but still pulls through. If you are looking for a serious offroad vehicle for the outback, this may not be the appropriate choice for you. I appreciate the honest and critical review.... it has its limitations in many aspects but still it is a great car. The price point is a bit steep but I would still go for it.
I got myself a VX version tween turbo and i love it.
The things that are "bad" about this car dont even come CLOSE to EVERYTHING GREAT about it.

Good, honest review. A rarity in the motor industry - you never see just & valid criticisms of Toyotas which should be subject to closer scrutiny because of their "reliability & technology" claims.
Did you used comfort mode when you drive it? And still not comfortable ?
Like In most things nowadays; lower in quality, higher in price.
I have a 25 year old,
100 series with 200k as the 3rd owner for 7 years, the past owners went on to buy newer Cruisers.
Yes, in-between I've tried to do better, but it all failed. The 6.0 Flying Spur, the 3.0 tdi Phaeton, Merc GLK 2.0 TDI, equal luxury to the old bus, but electric modern headaches & super expensive parts in the end.
Friends have the 2020 Range Rovers new ones, every 6 months, they spend more time in the repair garages thus making them, OFF THE ROAD.
Only the Kia Sorento 2.2 td was near to the old bus, but failed in luxury.
My grand total in up keep in 7 years, including services & ABS pump only after 25 years,has been
£4500 in 60k.
A Dam bargain.

Yes but you started with I have a 25 year old 100 series.... That's not the same Toyota LC or any Toyota you have today... You can't compare all mechanical or mostly mechanical cars to anything today ...

I still have my 100 series, only used during winter season.
Those other cars are the cars I've had & sold on since, apart from the Kia, wife loves that one.
The point I was making was, the durability & hardship of the 100 series that the farmers, landscape gardeners, builders & so forth put these 4x4 through in the UK, mud snow rain towing 3.5 tonne.

This new 3.3 diesel has a 10 speed gearbox which is not going to be any more economical or reliable than the old bus, due to the fact of more gear changing & the stress the engine will be under.
30 years ago your average diesel engines were doing 35+ mpg & still today the new engines do the same. All that has changed is the quietness & how less polluted its become.
Diesel used to smell for weeks on your clothes & if you spilled any on your hands , it would burn your skin mildly. Now you can even smell it.
Similar to aviculturists, photographers, guitarists, and saxophone players, we all have different perspectives and opinions on our favorites in each category. I have owned/driven a 1996 80 Series, a 2003 and 2006 100 Series, and a 2008 200 Series. My 2008 200 Series is best driving in CO with 11K foot mountain passes; because it easily gets 17mpg over Eisenhower Pass in 6th gear, but in all other areas the simpler 100 Series with the 4.7 motor is best. The Land Cruiser officially died in 2016 when the 8-speed transmission was offered, combined with numerous other insane/complicated electronics. The 300 Series is much worse. You're right about the body roll in anything but the GR Sport. But a suspension upgrade in the other models may be the solution for the aftermarket accessory gurus
There was a different review of the GR sport on another channel, but there was clearly something wrong with the suspension at that time. We drove a GR which was like a sports car the way it cornered up a tight cornered and steep hill. We decided on the GR because it had everything we needed to do the type of travel we do. oh that's really good to know, i just ordered a GR, have you had any issues with body roll since getting it?
I got the gr yaris Rallye, and wife wants the gr 300, took it for a test drive and I'm sold 😅 trading in her prado altitude.

Thanks for a good, honest, thorough review. IMO Toyota needs to get back to basics! What is this thing? Looks like it's trying to please everyone. I'll keep my FJ Cruiser. No dirty carpets here, and it's bullet proof simple and reliable! All the electronic gadgetry in new vehicles worries me from a reliability standpoint, particularly when offroading in isolated areas.

depends if you are reviewing the petrol or diesel model
yeh corrugation tests and pea soup sand tests please..

You are right about the body roll it was the first thing I noticed when I test drove it. I’m comparing it to my current Jeep GC and it is much more stable and responsive.
Great review mate! This is the biggest BS in the history of automobile😂 I love Toyota, but if anyone seriously believe that this couldn't have been a refreshed LC 200 5 years ago, think twice!! I mean, they didn't even try! After 7 decades, you mean to tell me that Toyota couldn't give consumers both a better off roader and a longer wheelbase LC? It's a great vehicle, of course, but for the price, they could have done a whole lot better! Look at the new Tundra; look at the new Sequoia.
No Sequoia or Tundra here in Australia. Well I have seen one or two Tundras but they are a Ute and not sure how they arrived here.
the wheelbase cannot change as toyota have achieved the magic number for offroad. What is more disappointing for me is the looks, the lack of KDSS and a torsen on the rear.

As you said this car is not for everyone and not for every occasions, it a car for people who have multiple cars it for long trips, for towing, i have 6 cars each has it owns purpose you cant have once for all, but LC is good for what's it been build i have 100 series and love the split tail gate for sure, done 500K sill runs very well
Hi Matt - I always want to know about things like
- how long it takes for the aircon to cool compared to other vehicle choices
- does cool air really get everywhere?
- are temperatures consistent
- road noise in the cabin on heavy blue metal roads
- blue tooth noise isolation and basically - in areas where you have signal can you have a good conversation on the phone (many can’t)
- roof rack load rating (halved in 300?)
- & with a generation upgrade - what were the faults on the old one and have they been addressed? Can you address these please?
These are the stats you care about in a Land Cruiser?
@@knifekit5 additional ones … these are the stats nobody mentions or seems concerned about … probably because I’m the only one who buys a vehicle and finds out later how noisy and hot it is!
I totally agree with you about the missing split tail gate. When i first saw this cost cutting act i was not impressed and i hope Toyota correct this on the face lift model. The Hybrid model will be easier to manouver and live with around town and save a fortune on fuel too. Oh yeah, lose those stupid rear passenger screens!
Hi, I don’t think you were harsh enough. You failed to mention:
1. GCM value - you can’t tow a 3500kg caravan with family of 4, have a bullbar.
2. Lack of room for second battery so you can’t have fridge running.
3. Roof load has been drastically reduce from 200 series.
4. V8 LC200 was dramatically retuned and wastes fuel, good tune in LC200 gets same economy but more power.
5. Interior new Tech isn’t anything special and is still 3years behind European cars.
6. Toyota inflated the price over 2 years of Landcruiser 23% before COVID because the new LC300 was being engineered
By the way if you just want a road SUV a X5 can tow 3.5T if you opt for tow package when ordering and has better payload.
Very knowledgeable review. I think Landcruiser should bring back the look of 1990s Landcruiser, the one with rectangular front lights. That looks better than newer ones. Excellent point about the fuel filter being right next to the spare.
I’m sorry WIRED Android Auto & Apple CarPlay?? My Mum just bought a new Kia Picanto GTline for $21K on the road and it comes with WIRELESS Android Auto & Apple CarPlay...in a budget city car! You’d expect if they can do this on a $21K car they could do it on a $150K car right???

my friend got a really nice landcruiser from 2015. The one thing i really liked was the split tailgate. I was looking into getting a 2021 landcruiser VX or VXR or VXS. Then in the new landcruiser it came without the split tailgate.
Good honest review - I think it's horses for courses with this new Landcruiser.
It is a bit of a compromise in several areas - but when you're going through the Simpson Desert, I think that's where it will likely come in to its own.
Also - next time, make sure your recovery partner doesn't use their towball to attach the recovery strap - that's a disaster waiting to happen (21:09).
Must know his stuff if he uses a tow ball for recovery. Obviously not his car. That's 4wd-101. Off road on a farm - that's a real good test. This is a shit review.
Thank you for the very informative video. Comparing this Land Cruiser to an Audi Q7, BMW X5/7 or Mercedes GLE/S, can we expect that the Land Cruiser will have less failures, réparations and pieces replacements than the bmw, audi or mercedes on the long run ?
Most buyers for a LandCruiser will not cross shop with AUDI and BMW. Basically Toyota buyers are sensible and rely on their vehicles to get them all over the country. AUDI and BMW buyers just want to be seen all over the trendy places. Buying a LandCruiser is a bit of an aspirational goal for many buyers. Buying an AUDI or BMW is no longer an aspirational goal in life.
As for the body roll, that's definitely a step backwards as Toyota does not even provide eKDSS on virtually all the trim levels except for the GR-Sport. This is a double whammy - price hike and a defining feature removed. Every Nissan Y62 Patrol now comes with HBMC, so Toyota has shortchanged many customers with the 300 series. Those who want eKDSS are unable to put a winch on. No such issue with the 200 Series where you can have a winch with bull bar and KDSS.

Own a Audi and land cruiser Audi is nice to drive very safe in the wet(Quattro) but resell value is low and maintenance cost are are high specially after 5 years.
Land cruiser on the other hand have high resell value and low maintenance cost but interiors are 20 years and engine are like 20 years behind.
So really depends how deep ur wallets is lol

As a parent to 4 kids I appreciate the time of the 3rd row review. It certainly looks to be an improved place compared to the 200 series, but still has a long way to go to be a totally usable place for regular use. I have an old Discovery 3 and I'm 183cm (6ft) and I can comfortable sit in the 3rd row so that is my yardstick. I think I'll be hanging onto my Disco for a few more years yet until I no longer need to regular use of the 3rd row as there is nothing on the market yet that can come close to it (apart from a newer disco)
Our D4SC made in 2014 is still way ahead of a 300s and 200s in every regard so we'll be keeping it. It's also appreciated from 32k purchase price to over $50k insured value! Toyota is too cheeky for words.

We love the hydraulic steering, solid rear axle, analog gauges, etc. This is not a BMW and we don't want it to be. The owner of this kind of vehicle doesn't consider another type of truck.

I would still choose the 200 LC over this. It seems that Toyota rushed this thing without putting too much efforts to make it perfect. I bet the refreshed model will be a true Land Cruiser.
FINALLY. A review that will hurt fan-boys (an honest one). I can't imagine paying 150 grand for a car that has that infotainment and a moving center console. And those seat bottoms look really shallow, my legs are gonna be hannging off them without much support. Subbed.
I think you were pretty much on the button and for a change was a good honest review. I personally think the last good Land Cruiser was the last of the 100 Series.... since then with the 200 Series and now the 300 Series Toyota seems to have regressed. To not have modern high res graphics in the infotainment system is bad and the cost is out of this world. Toyota may think they are king pin but someone needs to wake them up to reality. Another serous flaw in this one is who is the bright spark who put the fuel filter where it is by the spare wheel??? you go off roading that is the first thing going to get whipped out by flinging stones etc. Do anysort of off roading you going to have to carry around spare fuel filters.True you could put a protective plate there and am sure it is being looked at aftermarket. But, the point is you should not have too. On one hand i can understand the thinking, "put it where easily accessed" and that is a good thing but countered by now making it so vunerable to damage. .... I dont know it seems they have not put any thought into it but instead it is oh we better bring out a new model... but no thoughts into it....I would not touch it as you say for that money Audi or BMW or even Jeep is a much more viable and better option. The other thing and i am pretty sure I got this right when read it somewhere and that is they have changed the wheels / wheel assembly so for those wanting to put on a lift kit etc that may not be easily possible.
A lot more objective review. Others had nothing negative to say. But I would have liked to hear you assess the availability of space after seats are down. Compared to MercedezBenz (eg) GLS which goes in to a nice flat & even space unlike land cruiser.

Couple of points regarding the split tailgate: Based on the biggest customer base (middle east & SEA), split tailgate was unpopular among the serious users who wanted a simpler tailgate to mount off-road bumper/higher clearance. Split tailgate gets in the way of swing out tire carrier or off road bumper. I do agree that for everyday user, maybe offering it as an option might have been the way to go.
Damn I never thought about that. Still the split gate was very distinctive and felt expensive. Kind of boring without it.
Well. They already had a split barn type tailgate for those serious offroaders in the GCC markets.

I have a 2002 LAND CRUISER that I bought brand new, I now have 298k miles on it and I would jump in it and drive across country tomorrow without any doubts. I love my Cruiser, but I am hesitant about the newest one....
the towing wire is really important element especially in cars like land cruiser.

I am toyota biased through and through, and been waiting for so long to upgrade my current 200 series for the new LC300. Has toyota lost there minds?? What a disappointment, a real boring boat like feeling experience, and now without that V8 grunt audio track under the bonnet?! The whole thing feels like a cost saving in my opinion, so No Thanks! Before you guys decide on the Lc300, do yourselves a favour and at least just check out the new Nissan Patrol, and actually try get behind the wheel of one.. It drives and feels like a car on steroids in comparison, and with a 45k plus saving, it buys you loads of fuel and accessories.. Moral of the story, i jumped ship and can't wait for this New Patrol to arrive 😎

The 300 will be as stated a good heavy van tow tug, but its not a serious bush basher unless you have more money than you need.
The 76 78 79 series are still true well designed bush vehicles the 300 ie too frills laden for rugged use in red dirt country, although it will do it unlike virtually all the Euro rivals or Cadilac Escalade with long term reliability issues.
How many Australians really need a vehicle like the 300 vs those who actually need a big SUV , we live in a very pampered nation yet many are homeless, I'm sure like the 200 series we'll see plenty at school pick-up times in wealthier metro areas!

This is one of the best looking new SUVs made currently. Just wish it was sold in the US (so I could buy a used one later on lol ) and wish it had a split tailgate.

A great review, honest and telling the truth. It costs too much for what you get and there are many other vehicles to choose from that may not be Toyotas but offer all that’s needed for towing and 4WD.
Apart from Nissan Patrol, what else would you recommend that is more modern and up to date interior wise and has the same reliability and towing capacity as both 300 and Patrol? TIA

I guess that bogging is mainly down to those tyres. My work hilux with factory tyres doesn't change direction at full lock on the slidy stuff.

Nice Review, the 300 Series is nice, but I still think the 200 is better to drive and handling. all models other than the GR Sport have lost KDS with means the car rolls around a bit more in corners. 2nd row rear space is smaller. There has been alot of weight saving on this car, roof can carry less weight, narrower wheel and tyres, single tail gate, as you say an evolution not a revelution. I hate the rear screens in the Sahara, break one its $5000 to replace one !
I find the interior instrumental simple.looking at the purpose of this car ,its adequate. Its a full offroad capable SUV over its price rivals. I just wish Toyota would not complicate this car as prices keep growing up.
With beige carpet the diesel grime from the pertol station gets all over them - been there. You'll have to buy black matts. ;)
I have had a new VX for 7 days now and it is amazing.
