That’s all Leboeuf can do…entertaining with his silliness, he keeps making himself ridiculous being absolutely bias and making determinations based on popularity not on technical objective facts. And by the way he acts like if being a professional player means knowing soccer better than a non professional one. WRONG!!! Sacchi had never been a professional player and he changed the way of playing soccer into what we’re now accustomed to watch. He was a mediocre professional player, casually lucky to be in a team with Zidane, Henry, Thuram (because nobody remembers that the France was completely rebuilt from the ashes of the failure for not qualifying at USA ‘94 WC, far away from being considered the favorite winners) capable to win a World Cup at home prepared purposely for them (as happened for England) and a Euro stolen at 95’ minute because that game couldn’t finish 1-0 for Italy. Arrogance is always unjustifiable even for people like Ronaldo and Mbappe, guess how much more unjustifiable for somebody like Leboeuf. Such anonymous player for his time with the luck of the loser. In the France national team of today a player like he used to be wouldn’t even be selected. Everybody can check on his career and see themselves how poor he was.

Easy question and answer: No. Southgate seems like a good bloke but his lacking in tactical acumen. For all the hype and bluster from England at WC2018 and this Euros, the only team of good quality they beat was Germany (and at home too). Whenever they have faced strong opposition (Belgium, Croatia, Italy - even Denmark they needed to cheat to win the game), they have been exposed and beaten. Southgate even said in his post game comments that he took the lessons from WC2018 to this tournament which shows he has not improved or learnt from his mistakes at that tournament either. Against a world class manager like Mancini, there was never any real chance of it coming home.

      - Easy group

Get real, its not "kindergarten". Come on. Anything can happen - and life MUST go on. Paul McCartney sings "Hope of Delieverance" - .. we must simply do our best (and maybe pray to the Gods).

Does he deserve to keep his job, especially given the bad tactics? My simple answer is: it's very complicated, and I don't have a clear and concise answer. Why?
Simply put: this is England, and sadly, the *first* priority for *any* England manager is actually *not at all* related to *strategy* (as *every* previous "strategic maestro" they've hired has failed due to several "self-inflicted wounds" prevalent within the team that result in their strategies *never even coming close* to being executed as planned), but instead, the first priority is, as I like to say, "stopping the bleeding of those self-inflicted wounds" that plague the team and *have plagued* the team for *decades!*
What are those "self-inflicted wounds"? Things like cliques forming within the team that cause certain players to *actively sabotage* members of other cliques and try to *hurt* their performance on the field by not passing to them or lowering their stats (yes, this has been talked about as being a major problem at nearly *every* tournament)! Things like players being selfish, trying to use the team *only* to boost *their own* stock in the hope of raising their salaries or securing a big-money move to a major club, *rather* than actually *executing* the gameplan and helping the team win! And yes, rivalries and putting individual-over-team performance exists elsewhere as well, but in *other* national teams, it's often *culturally taboo* to have such attitudes (as in, you as a player are *expected* to "check that kind of attitude at the door," and if you don't, you will be *destroyed* by your teammates, the media, and even *your own club team* for that kind of behavior, and therefore, they pop up *rarely* and are *relatively easy* to fix when they do in those other teams, while with *this* national team, it's *very rarely* been called out, and has become *accepted* as *normal* in training camp, with little to no pressure on those people exhibiting that kind of selfish and destructive behavior to change it)!
For those wondering, *that* is why in previous tournaments, England is *so bad* at avoiding *upsets!* It's behavior like *that* that lead to them being upset by Romania in 1998 and ending up second in the group, being forced to play Argentina in the Round of 16! It's behavior like *that* that lead to them failing to win the group *again* four years later *despite* having *beaten* Argentina, because they failed to win against Sweden and Nigeria (ultimately leading to them playing Brazil in the quarters, as opposed to Turkey)! It's behavior like that that resulted in them drawing with the US and Algeria in 2010, resulting in them failing to win the group *again* and having to play *Germany* in the Round of 16! And yes, some bad tactical and managerial decisions *were* made in those games, but let's be honest, this team was *so talented* that *it should not have mattered!* They still should have *won* that game against Romania, *beaten* Sweden and Nigeria, *beaten* the United States and Algeria, *despite* those bad decisions! And for matches against big footballing nations, forget it! Before Southgate took over, England had not beaten Germany in a major competition since 1966 (even when Germany has fielded some weak or horribly depleted teams), England had beaten Argentina only *once* in a major competition since 1966, and has *never* beaten Brazil in a major competition!
So, in other words, this team couldn't even be expected to do the *bare minimum* before, due to these "self-inflicted wounds," and the *first* job of *any* new manager (well before actually deciding on "what is the best game plan" and "who are my best players") was going to be to "stop the bleeding" from these "self-inflicted wounds" and prevent England from *losing* to teams they had *no business* losing to! Southgate has apparently *done that!* He's a bad tactician with a terrible gameplan, but at least his team is *finally* actually *executing* the game plan they've been given, which *could not* be said about *previous* managers (even the tactical maestros)! He's definitely not playing his best players, but at least the players he chooses are actually *winning* the games they're *supposed* to win, unlike previous teams that had *much better* athletes playing, but could not even finish above teams whose *entire teams* had a *collective* value on the transfer market less than *one or two* of England's players (that actually was true in many cases! For example, in 2010, Gerrard and Lampard *alone* had a collective transfer market valuation higher than the *entire* USA squad *combined,* yet finished *behind* them in the group)! And yes, reports from inside the camp *very much* suggest that Southgate *has indeed* "stopped the bleeding!" The cliques were surprisingly no longer there, and selfish attitudes by players often resulted in players getting benched or dropped (which may explain why some of the more talented players aren't being chosen or starting)!
So, does he deserve to keep his job? The answer is: I honestly don't know, because it depends on the answer to *multiple* key questions! The main ones being:
    (1) Has Southgate changed the culture forever, and will any future manager have to deal with those previous "self-inflicted wounds" if he leaves, or has Southgate simply "patched them up" for now (i.e. players are only behaving because he's there), and they'll return the moment he's gone?
    (2) If the bleeding has just been "stopped" for now, then is there a manager who can *keep* it stopped while *also* being a great tactician and strategical maestro?
If the answer to the first question is, "the 'bleeding' is forever stopped," then yes, time to let Southgate go and bring in a strategic maestro! If the answer to the second question is, "yes, there is, and his (or even her) name is [insert name here]," then yes, time to let Southgate go and bring *that* person in!
If the answer to the first question is, "No, the 'bleeding' is likely to return if he leaves," and the answer to the second question is, "I don't know anyone who knows how to keep the 'bleeding' patched up *and* is a better tactician than Southgate," then obviously, the FA *needs* to stick with Southgate a little longer!
*That* is the reality of this situation!

Does he lead this England side into the next World Cup?
