I have to confess this band has produced some truly classic Jazz and this performance is superlative. Jazz tells us;the universe may end,we all must die but,to hell with everything,we are here and we will play this wonderful music in defiance of fate itself!Am I grateful-you bet!
I first saw this 12 years ago and must have viewed it 50 times or more. Still superb, a perfect evocation of the original Bechet Armstrong, Eva Taylor version. I hope the band is still playing and when I get my vaccine jabs, I'll be over to Copenhagen to hear you. I love your two cornet front line and everything else is perfect too. Best wishes for 2021!!
What a great tune - made famous by the Clarence Williams Blue Five in 1925 with Louis and Bechet.Eva does a good job here backed by this fabulous band.
As a very old motorcyclist I can assure you all that there is very little to compare with the smile-inducing sensation of sprinting away with the engine "on song".However, this music beats it by far!The happiest sound in the world-one can only rate them in superlatives!!
Really good performance from 80yr-old Eva Taylor in Denmark in 1975, battling against the VERY LOUD Peruna Jazzmen. God Almighty. lads, quieten down a bit! She is the Star, not you lot..
ArneHoejberg Just sayin', pal. Oh... btw... the expression is "If you are trying to TEACH us something... not 'LEARN'.. OK? There. Is that 40 years too late(!)?? Peruna Jazzmen is/was a very good band... enthusiastic, full if fire, full of skill. So thank you for the other Peruna videos on youtube.
I love this clip. You guys rocked it. (And, I wonder, did the complainer notice that during Ms. Taylor's vocal, backing is basically reduced to percussion in order to let her shine...) I don't feel the band interfered at all with her performance.
What an outstanding performance. Eva Taylor got an opportunity to bring back the Jazz Age with that classic tune. What a great band! Are you guys still together? If so, why haven't you all come to the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, or the French Quarter Festival.
Quelle merveille, quelle ambiance, on rêverait d'y être, mais trop tard !
This my kind of Jazz music! - Fantastic! - I heard them live a few times, and always enjoyed their timing, and right from their hart Jazz!

Super cool hang. Also fimed by the alien autopsy guy.
Eva Taylor is the grandmother of actor, Clarence Williams III, from the late 1960's-early 1970's TV drama, "Mod Squad".

Yeah, she can't compete with all those horns! Plus, I think she's got a little church microphone, or something.
