I used and loved Fuji, but when switching to Leica, it's a wow experience. I guess may be the C1 over-edited and rendered color in this video.

Yup. been shooting both for 2 years now and, you said I best, you use Leica for the shooting experience not specs. Although I really enjoyed my time with it, I actually sold my M10 (kept the M6 and Q2) and now using X-H2s for videos and XE4 (or Q2) when I travel.

I’m starting to lean towards a Q2 + Fuji setup

I had a similar setup to @Fred Ranger as well at one point m10/m6/q2. I opted to sell the Q2 because I could get most of what I got out of the q2 with the xt5 I replaced it with but the experience of the m10 is unique. I thought about keeping the Q2 but with film prices the way they are I wouldn’t enjoy the M shooting experience as easily or as often

I love my leica Q2 monochrome yes it is not the fastest AF point and shoot fullframe camera but I love how the build quality and image quality and rendering, high iso noise in low light situations, and weather sealed it is great to have and great experience, I tried the leica m10 it is fine, yes the interchangeable lens feature is great to have but the maintenance cost of leica M series especially if you travel and the vibration and impact in the rangefinder system calibration just worried about it but it is great camera. For work purposes I use my sony. Overall my choice for my personal use is leica it is great experience to use. Great video about fujifilm vs leica.

Also the micro contrast with leica lens create a 3d pop. U can get that same look on Fuji if u use any lens with micro contrast

I am going through a Leica crisis of my own - my M10 is in the shop for ISO dial repair and although I am on vacation with a GH5 I just keep on shooting with my Pixel or iPhone - somehow I just don't want be pulling "big" camera out of the bag. Just a different feel of walking with Leica (or any other small camera) makes me be bit more comfortable and relaxed.

Two things bugged the xt5, the focusing hates sunglasses and my x100v and Olympus and Panasonic doesn’t. Second, I’m done buying leisure and hobby items from China. X100v and my Olympus stuff is from Vietnam and Japan.

I nailed all three. Photo #1 - the highlights in the snow outside the window was 100% Leica M10. And the highlights in the flower as well. I know the post makes a huge different, but the different in these raw-files are mind blown! The M10 feels so much more alive and punchy. The X-T5 is surprisingly “dead” and flat.
Photo #2 - I saw it in the bokeh, more smooth in the leica-photo and as well, the punch was way more noticeable here as well.
Photo #3 - just more punchy colors.
With that said. This is just fine details. Fuji knows how to calibrate that x-trans sensor. And the original 35mm f1.4 is 👑
But if I had to choose … I already made my decision 🔴

Well I left 2 images out of the equation where I used the Fuji 23/2 vs the 7artisans 35/2. I would say the results are similar. The sigma glass actually pops nicely …. But I had a feeling I would get asked this. If you find me on Instagram I can send you some pics when I get back this weekend.

Having shot both Fuji and Leica... Fujis are FANTASTIC... but being fortunate enough to be able to shoot with the M10... I can't ever see myself going back to fuji after shooting with the M10 for the last year. Having those little M mount lenses on the M10 is special.

If we're talking about pop, I don't know if fast is the term, but I found the 16-55mm had more pop than my 23 mm 1.4, 35 mm 1.4. The only lens that I found had the same pop was my Viltrox 85mm. The feel of the Viltrox ressembles the Leica glass, except for the highlights which are more digital. Am I crazy?

Well done Eric well illustrated back in the day of film I mean before aspheric lenses Leica had the reputation of being best glass and their camera bodies strong small and light but you paid for it back to the present advent of mirrorless well built cameras and lenses from Fuji megapixels v megapixels the difference is not so clear cut but Leica still retain their reputation and their premium prices whether this is justified is doubtful comes down to how thick is your wallet I don't believe Leica kit is worth 5 to 10 times that of Fuji or other makes mirrorless can now rival Leica rangefinders in many ways ( yes but it's not a real rangefinder) I hear. what is autofocus if not electronic range finding you want manual focus lenses no probs adapt one Leica are no longer top dogs and Leica users are very often rich elites who sport their Leicas like an overpriced Rolex or Louis Vuitton accessories for me Fuji is king

This is what you get with the sigma APS-C lenses. They did it to my s6400 too. I am using only Fuji glass on Fuji, and I have no issues.

No. Fuji glass is similar. Message me on Instagram and I’ll do some comparisons when I get back from my trip. I did the tests with the 23/2 Fuji and 7artisans lens on Leica.

@@ericrjennings Not sure if the 23mm f2 is a good example, cause I find that lens really bland. I haven't tried the Sigmas or the Mark II Fujis. Just saying, more input welcome.

Do it !!! I've gone from Fuji to Leica, have been thinking a lot of times to save money and go back once they released X-Pro3, then XT-4 and XT-5...but I simply know I will not be happy. This video clearly shows why. Except the wonderful premium feel of all the M-bodies and lenses.

I think a big aspect to this is full frame versus apsc. Full frame definitely has a pop to it, more color depth and tonality. I can see it in every image I compare between my Fuji and Nikon. Even with cheaper glass, the Nikon has a deeper look to it, more clarity and sharpness than the Fuji.

MP=overrated for 90% of photography. The sigma trio is still outstanding all these years later, they saved Sony APSC. Have you recorded any video with Sigma 30? I saw one guy do a video on it and it was hunting like crazy, not sure if it has been corrected via firmware.

Definitely was in the wrong white balance with the Fuji. The picture is definitely supposed to pop way more than what your pictures are with the Fuji files something definitely you are doing wrong color balance shouldn’t be this off and looking so flat. Fuji has not known for a flat look like that…. Plus with that cheap lens you put on there for your prime lenses should’ve been on the XT five 👎🏾👎🏾

It's odd how in your comparison the raw file colors (of Fuji vs Leica) look so different, and when this same comparison was done by youtuber "Andrew Goodcamera" his results showed the two cameras being very very similar in raw color. Start at 7m:33sec. (And hello from across the river)

Probably user error or the way C1 interprets the raw file with 1-click. Colors can be easily manipulated

@@ericrjennings I wonder if the white balance was set the same on the two cameras, or in post, if the majority of the color differences would evaporate. Samuel Streetlife did a comparison of colors and again the differences were not very big.

Fujifilm gets a lot of fanfare for it’s film-like rendering, yet for me, it looks entirely digital vs. the Leica. Also, in the colors here, Leica’s looks are more filmic to me there, too.

I had a chance to buy a Leica film camera with Leica glass(50mm) for a very reasonable price in the late 1980’s. To this day, I still regret not having done so. I bought two Canon T90 cameras instead. Those two Canon cameras have long since been gone. I have no doubt, the Leica would have still been in my possession & most likely in excellent working condition.🫤

@@ericrjennings maybe not solely based on your video, but I have an XH-2 and an M11, and I can tell you that the colors, sharpness of the M11 coupled with the 35mm FLE vs. the XH-2 and the 23mm f1.4 is very apparent when you look at pictures at 100%. Even the M10 is much nicer, IMHO!
