45 books!!! You did a great job with the unhaul and the re-organization! The two shelves look lovely and colorful and, most importantly, now you've got so much free space for new books! 🥳
I know it's a really beloved book but I also struggled with This Is How You Lose the Time War, I DNFed at 15% because I kept reading (and even re-reading) paragraphs and I wasn't understanding a single thing. 😂
Two years ago I changed my bookshelves so I went through all my books and gave a big box of them to the library. I should do another one soon though, because I was really indecisive and I've kept many that I'm actually never going to read (or re-read). Maybe this summer, if the heat doesn't melt me first. 😅
Thank you!! I was pleased to get rid of that many and make all that room! This Is How You Lose the Time War was so beloved but I just didn’t get it. At all. I wish I did. It can be difficult getting rid of books as you saw I even kept some here so I understand about being indecisive! I hope you make some more room and I hope the heat doesn’t melt you!!!!!! I cannot believe you can let go so easily! It is a MAJOR ordeal for me. At the moment, all my shelves are packed tight as sausages...so my project has been removing any duplicates...and I take them to little free libraries...but my downfall ( I think I told you this once) is that I trade them for more books...so i go home & re-stuff the sausages....
I love that you try to get rid of some but end up coming back with more! It’s the sign of a true book lover and we’ve all been there! 😂

So..I am putting my comments separately in hopes that it lets them post...anyway..here's my deal...I just LOVE my book room...shelves lining walls & loaded floor to ceiling...and it bring me such peace to be in there in quiet in a dim light. And then I also think...what if I had bookish friends show up and I would want to share books, but I had already unhauled them all?? (I know, your old friend is a bit daft tonight!). This comment is very early before I have watched the whole thing...but my theory is..the hot guy knew they were your books and he took them looking for your phone #....I imagine if you had looked closely when he returned them, you would have observed a look of sadness and dismay😥...so the moral of this story is, a bookmark with your phone # should be included in all books for the exchange...Now let me return to your video 😃

Love this dream of yours to work at Gay's the Word! Could honestly say the same, and if that is a "simple dream" then at least it's realistic (to a point). Just curious - Do you keep your read and tbr books separate to then make room for new ones after you've read some or do you sort by genre or sth like that instead?
Hello my friend! It really would be my dream, but I’d settle for any bookstore! This answer is going to be a mess 😂
They are sort of done by genre, but often get mixed up. If I have books sent to me by publishers that are unread then I keep them separate, but if I bought the books myself then they get all mixed in with the read books (hopefully in the right genre)

@@jthbooks makes sense, yes 😜 I used to have them mixed but then (and I only have two book cases compared to your entire room, haha) so I could keep them separate and then move them over once I read them. Bc I’m focusing on reading from my shelves this year ☀️ But hey, each to their own. As long as it works for the individual person, that’s all that matters. Just like we have different tastes and preferences in general, ya know. Hope you’re doing well, friend 🌸
