Hi Jack!!! 😊 I'm so excited about The Emperor of Gladness! I was so happy to see that Ocean Vuong was going to release a new book but after reading the synopsis I'm even more excited! I haven't read anything by Tash Aw either, but thank you for intriducing this author to me, The South sounds really interesting. I'm also quite intrigued by Sleeping Children even if I think it might be break my heart 😅 I'm always quite clueless when it comes to new releases, but I've heard there will be a new book by R. F. Kuang this year so that's something I'm really looking forward to. Have a lovely week!

Small Things Like These, 1,000% agree! I have a Nonfiction book I am reading this month as a companion to the historical component to that book (don’t want to give spoilers here) that I hope to learn more from.

The Gallopers made my top 10 list this year too! His writing is unique and doing something different. I order The Whale Tattoo, but I haven’t gotten it yet. I had to order it from the UK, so that big ‘ole pond, takes a while to get across 😂

Hi Jack!!! What an exciting video, and you look very stylish in this shirt! I really really need to get my hands on some Jon Ransom. 2024 wasn't as great a reading year as 2023 , but I still found some books that I really loved! My 5-stars were Han Kang's We Do Not Part, Hisham Matar's My Friends and Vaddey Ratner's Music of the Ghosts. This made me realize that I like quite depressing books, oh well 😂 Have a lovely end of the year and an even more amazing beginning!!! 💕

I can't ever pick a top 10 as I very rarely remember plots 🙈🙈 my memory is shocking. I could tell you if I enjoyed a book but couldn't really tell you a plot 🙈🙈

Hitchhikers is one of my favourite books of all times! I have all five in one. I went to a party last year themed Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy and you could instantly see who had read the book and who hadn't. We who had brought our towels. 😉

Hi Jack, I'm a new subscriber and I enjoy the book reviews and your personality. I'm eager to hear your thoughts on East of Eden, it's on my TBR, but I struggle with larger books so just haven't delved into it yet; maybe like you, 2025 will be the year. I appreciate your focus on LGBTQ+ fiction and non-fiction. I picked up a couple of your recommendations, What Belongs To You, In Memoriam, and also (non-LGBTQ+) Wandering Souls. I've finished WBTY and enjoyed the story and the exploration of relationships. I found the writing style/structure different than what I'm used to but think it's a worthwhile book; the chapter where the narrator describes his relationships with his father and his childhood friend is quite fierce. I look forward to reading the other two books soon. I've been watching your previous videos and am pleased to see that you review and enjoy many genres because I also enjoy many of the same. Hi Jack!!! 2025 is just around the corner now 🙈Usually I like to start the reading year with an author that I've read and liked before, so there's a good chance I'll enjoy another book by them. I'm very very intrigued by The South by Tash Aw, I'll keep an eye out for it! I haven't read either of the books and they really couldn't be more different 😅 I think you might prefer East of Eden. It's a chunky book but I've heard great praise. Take as much time as you need to get through it, don't push yourself too hard! Also why do publishers choose such tiny fonts? I'm getting old and I have bad eyesight, give me big letters! 😂 Have a lovely week and happy holidays!!!
