I applaud anybody for doing things themselves but my advice here to anybody watching is do not use parcel tape as masking tape (it leaves adhesive residue that will gather dirt and look horrible), mask the area properly to avoid the overspray and clean the area immediately before spraying. Use a degreaser and make sure the area is thoroughly dried before you start. You'll get a much better finish that lasts much longer.
@@AAMedia It's a pearl black car. Already replaced my Chrome grille with a gloss black one, powdercoated the wheels black and tinted out the windows and lights. Once the Chrome is sprayed it will be an animal. The brutal sound of the 5.7 litre V8 finishes it off nicely. I've had to really hold back and not rush it as I want to get it right the first time, especially with removing body trim as its never a good idea to do it multiple times.
How many cans of both cans do you think you'd need to dechrome an A4 Avant B8 pal. Would appreciate any where to get it. Wish you had an Avant. I jest lad! 👍
@@AAMedia from what I've seen else where on TH-cam, it looks like you applied it wrong, it takes a couple of light coats with 15-20mins break between coats then one big one, the light coats helps create a good bond

Yeah I get you 💯 don’t want to be removing its loads as the clips get worn very fast and snap
