Man, I get nostalgic hearing this. And sure, Class VII 2.0 is fine and all, but...Rean and the OG Class VII is always going to be what the Cold Steel series is about for me.
I like both of the class VII actually. But I dont really like how the Old Class VII took New Class VII spot in most of the "Spec Ops mission" in CSIII. I love Old Class VII but I want to know new characters.

The mood of the game went a full 180. From high school fun to straight up civil war.
It really did. Even the character's quotes have changed to a more serious, or mature tone. I noticed right away that the characters use some of the same battle quotes from CS I. In II, those quotes feel either more serious, more mature, or more focused than they used to be. At least Rean's quotes feel more serious. The gravity of the situation hit everyone in the game hard.

@Memoria Lux I agree! I love it, it makes you feel like they actually grew up in that month they were separated from Rean (vise versa). Rean aside, I believe Alisa saying "Turn to flames. Burn!" when she used Flamberge was the first time I noticed that things were going to sound a bit more serious with the characters.The way she said that actually made me do a double-take, since in CS I she said the same thing but here, it was different. Then of course, I started paying attention when it came to the others :P
Lalisa T well, the reason they redid the battle quotes was because for the first game the VAs had to say their lines in a certain amount of time which led to them rushing some lines (Jusis S Craft....) but for the second game they had more freedom
It didn't feel out of place though...
Everytime I would play trails of cold steel games, I never never ever skipped those great openings

is it really a spoiler if you have no idea wtf the context is? i mean i felt that falcom is realy good at giving you spoilers to hype you up but give you no context so when you get to that point you are still surprised as hell

Just finished Cold Steel 1. One of my worries was that Cold Steel 2's intro wont be able to match the first game.
I'm glad I was wrong. This is still a marvelously beautiful opening that shows the sudden shift in the Empire's political and military climate.
Can't wait to start the second game.
Well you start at a nice time. 3 is finaly coming to Pc and came a short while ago for Console at least i think its out already. Now i just hope that they deliver 4 soon and a epic Jounry is finaly complete. (Well still hope for more but for now that would be enough.)
But its realy a great Series where i asctualy more or less out of boredoom started the first title and i never had any regrets.
@@susakuzero That's why I started the game (because of CS 3 impending release). Pleasantly surprised that I fell in love with the game, the characters, and the hell of a lineup of eargasmic music in the series.

Yeah after i saw the Screenshots on Steam my first thoughts where hm ok looks like a bland cheap and probaly stereotipical JRPG with classic boring Characters. But oh boy was i wrong. You have a realy interesting World/Lore. And the Characters are actualy amazing cause they actualy get some real development over the time. They also have some interesting backgrounds and some where actualy surprising. Mostly Emma which defently took me by surprise. And a realy nice Plottwist was C i mean ok i realy have to say that was something i defently have not seen coming which was amazing. But overall the Story itself is full of interesting Plottwists and Secrets.
The only thing that i realy hate is that i can not decide who is best Girl since all of them are actualy great.
@@susakuzero Hahaha. Choosing the best girl is a delicate art, but I naturally gravitated towards Alisa (which , IIRC, is what the devs intended).
C really shocked me to hell. It was an amazing reveal that was executed perfectly.

Hm i realy can never decide. I mean the first Girl i choose was Fie who you have to equip with the Cat Accesorios to make her perfect. Sadly they changed her hairstyle with 3.
Then i picked Laura which has some very good plot cough cough but also i liked her personality. Then shit got real when i found out that you can also go for Sara ah the forbiden realationship and Towa who is just cute AF i mean realy sometimes i was shouting at the screen and was like stop that stop being cute i can already not decide. But then i learned also more about Emma then you get your of course not bloodrelated Sister and Alfin at this time i already got the Error Mesage brain exe stoped working. The problem is all of them are realy great and there is not a single one which i would actualy denie.
But one thing that also surprised me because i probaly did the first times not payed to much atention to the Op where the Panzer Soldats which look actualy realy cool.

Me too... Especially after all the memories, Class VII, Crow dying... And the fact that we'll have to wait for the 3rd game...
Personally, I've vowed to myself to listen to the ending again when CS3 comes out, cause I know I'll cry waterfalls.

Cold Steel IV's opening is my personal favorite opening theme out of all the Cold Steel games. The opening movie itself however...

@@babatundeismail6732 The track is great and when the opening movie is good, it's possibly my favorite in the series. But while it's great about half the time, it's almost laughable the rest of the time. But yeah, look forward to it for when CS4 comes out later this year!
TOCS Three intro is my favorite but I like this one also.
@@MaskedKingDavid The thing with Cold Steel 3 and Cold Steel 4's openings is that the songs are awesome, but the opening movies A. Have some spots with "dead air" (where nothing happens), and B. Have a disturbing lack of OG Class VII in them (especially Cold Steel 3's).

I have to admit I wasn't a fan of the first game's opening, but this one is amazing and I can't fire up the game without listening to it once. In fact, every new theme in this game is just as good if not better than the one they replace.
I can understand not liking the first game's opening, but I'd say it fits. Finished the 1st one yesterday and started sen no kiseki 2 yesterday too. I'd say thw openings fit each game. First is more cheerful, denoting the academy setting and their fun times while this one is more serious showing how things changed

It IS a high-school centered setting. No matter what they were gonna graduate and follow their dreams. Plus, the storyline basically hinges on the fact Rean is now stuck as a "hero" and his future actions are now dictated by the country's higher-up's. If you think about it, Rean once more got the short end of the stick.
also is not a permanent separation from you romance choice,depending of how CS3 unfold at the ending Rean may find the way to reunite again
Well,we have gotten details of the basic setting of the new game. The most basic details is that Rean is in charge of his own special class (except this class is not made of the "best" like Class VII, but rather they are considered the unruly and undesirable of Thors). And also Rean has been helping the Ironbloods and fighting in Osbourne's stead, so my prediction that he was trapped as Erebonia's "hero" was pinpoint accurate.
The only two returning characters that are confirmed as part of your party as of right now are Rean himself and Altina, as curious as that sounds.

LeonGun8 Yeah.... poor guy. Rean always has a tough road ahead of him. It's honestly pretty sad how much he has to burden over the course of the series, even if he finds a way to get around it (like when he was able to fully utilize the chaotic power in him).
