One of the things I love so much about Crow is how he isn't a perfectly good person. He did many bad things to achieve his goals, but never felt evil either. To me, this made him feel much more real.
A very gray character. He had his desire, but his feelings for Class 7, and especially Rean were so genuine. That's why it's so easy to forgive him, from my perspective at least. A wonderful series of gray, well written characters, which are the best kind in my opinion :)

I disagree, that POS almost killed class 7 several times, he pointed a mass destruction weapon against crossbell and towa, and threw the empire in an all out civil war (which most likely killed a lot of people, even if the game doesn't show it). No 50 mira coins or friendship speeches will change that. Sure osborne is a garbage person and deserves a shot to the chest, but crow's backstory doesn't justify what he did, so many more characters have worse backstories that don't do the kind of garbage crow pulled.
@@guilhermecardoso2365 I agree that he did those things, but I don't think he's evil. It felt like he tried to change things, and he had to do major things if he wanted to cause change. That's just the way it is.
This was all the past memories of Class VII ;-; All of the hardships they went through up until the present day, with Crow at the end. So bittersweet.

@@damiester1 Agreed. Yeah, just look at what happened to Hamel. The Erebonian nobles gave the okay to raid the village just to have an excuse to go to war. While Crow is a terrorist and did spark the civil war in Erebonia, he still assisted Rean in taking down Vermillion Apocalypse. He didn't blame the world for what he did. He took responsibility for his actions. Fie and Sara killed people when they were Jaegers. Does that mean they're unredeemable? No.

When I red on the Internet that The Decisive Collision had a vocal version in Cold Steel II, I looked forward to listen to it. And it was as fantastic as I hoped, or even more. What a bittersweet end for the game :(

I will forever love Crow in this game; he’s such a perfect foil to Rean.
Spoilerish discussion through CS2--
Rean is someone who feels that he doesn’t belong anywhere; he’s an adopted not-noble not-commoner in a land where status is paramount. He’s got a good loving family but feels like a burden dragging them down simply for living; A Nowhere Man. So he goes to Thors to try and find a life mission and a place to belong.
And on the other hand there’s Crow; a guy who lost all his family. But he’s a man on a mission. He knows exactly what his goal is and and drives for it relentlessly.
Rean opposes Crow but at the same time he admires the way Crow lives; the force of his driving towards his self-set goal; it’s so unlike Rean, who can barely put his own desires above obligation towards others.
And what happens? Crow fails. Everything he did ends up being for nothing. That’s why Rean is so upset at the end of Cold Steel 2; because what hope is there for him to have an impact on the world if someone like Crow couldn’t? It’s why that imagery of Crow in Ordine hits so hard in this song.
But Rean decides ultimately “So what? Maybe my life won’t have any meaning, but I’m gonna go for my little goals anyway, even if there’s no hope of achieving them.” At the end of CS2, he spits defiance in the face of meaninglessness.
Rean Schwarzer, my favorite main character of all time. 🙏🙏 And Crow is a big part of that by being such an excellent foil.

He had better. Chancellor Osbourne is clearly the Biggest Bad of the series. There's no question about it.

Actually, he's the biggest threat of the series thus far. Even the Grandmaster's intentions seem benevolent in comparison. He's also the first individual outside of the Grailsritter that managed to outsmart Ourobouros. In fact,he hijacked their whole Erebonian operation.
@@LeonGun8 I'm not saying he isn't the biggest threat currently. But after CS4 the series is only 60% done and there is no way to prove that this wasn't "within the Grandmaster's predictions" or something like that. And I'm pretty confident he'll be stopped (maybe not permanently) at the end of CS4. And Ouroboros isn't going to show their true objective until after they acquire all the Sept-Terrions plus they have the Aions.
Oh I'm sure there has to be something else brewing but it feels like if the Erebonian chapter showed anything is that even Ourobouros is not all-powerful. The Grandmaster may know more but she may just be yet another piece of the big picture and she may actually be seeking the Septerrions because of yet another reason. In fact, after the turns Osbourne took the series I dare say I'd be let down if it all ended with "The Grandmaster is the big bad boss", because that's what everyone has thought from day one. It's just the boring answer that would go against all the twists and turns of the rest of the series.

This is clearly a theme associated with Crow/Rean's friendship and rivalry, and yes, it has several variations!
Yep, that freaking melody that also appears in Remaining Glow, Inner Twilight, Blue Destination and Season of Departure. I can't bare that melody and all of the emotion it holds, but it's one of my favorites.

I’m going to be honest, I never played this game. I also had never even heard of it before before hearing this song. That said, this song still makes me cry my eyes out. Not just because it’s a good song (which it is), but also because it was used as the ending credits song for a massive online video project called “Ponies The Anthology 7” which is currently and likely to always be the last entry in the series. I won’t pretend to know what this song means for those that did play the game, but I feel as though the song really does mean just as much to the bronies listening. This song represents the ending of both a decade long series of massive fan collaborative videos about a cartoon show they love as well as the ending of that very same decade long cartoon show. With that said, I want to salute all of the people out there still listening to this song. No matter where you first heard it or what it means to you, never be afraid to say you like it or to cry your eyes out while listening to it.

So just finished playing cs2 because fuck waiting for the pc release (even though I’ll probably be getting it there too) From where I was standing Lloyd seemed like more of a good guy then Rean in the chapter following the finale. NOW I REALLY WANNA PLAY THOSE TWO OTHER GAMES ):
I don't know much about the other games, but I think that with the way Falcom makes the games, every character you actually play as is a protagonist. That way, it's left to each individual player to determine who they think the "hero" is.
Also Rean probably seems that way due to all that happened in ToCS 2 taking a toll on him.
Fusiongamer777 Except in Duke Cayenne's and Albarea's case, and maybe the chancellor's, most of the people you fight aren't all "evil". Many of them have their reasons for fighting. Crow had his, Lloyd has his. Rean has his. In the end, it's all about what you can do for yourself and the people you care about, even if it means clashing with other people fighting for the same reasons.
Rean felt more of an adversary at the end, but we know that he's not evil. I don't know much about Ao and Zero either, but I can tell that Lloyd and Rixia are fighting for reasons important to them.
I'm hoping that Falcom will take an interest in bringing those games to us so we can get the complete story.
Zero no kiseki has fan translation which maybe not the very best but at least easy to understand (at least for me) can't say the same about ao, and tbf after play zero no kiseki, I like lloyd more compare to rean
Senpeezy I HIGHLY recommend playing the epilogue if you have not. It's very beautiful right after the divertisement. :-)
Kevin Hanandi That fan translation is actually getting a re-edit via the site Geofront. That translation was leaked prematurely before it was completed, so the re-edit will feel more complete when that's done. It's currently at 60% completion.
There is a fantranslation for Ao no Kiseki that is in production now as well :)
