Giant Robots Clash! “Divine Knight Battles” System
The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III
The Divine Knight that possesses great power, and the Panzer Soldats, which are based on the Divine Knight and have been mass produced. Battles using these giant, humanoid weapons are called “Divine Knight Battles.”
Divine Knight Battles first appeared in the original The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel, and will return in The Legend of Heroes; Trails of Cold Steel III. New elements, including group battles using multiple Panzer Soldats and a partner system, have also been added.
-Form your unit and head into battle: Construct a team of Rean’s Ashen Knight, Valimar, and Panzer Soldats piloted by the students of Class VII.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III
Clash with Aurelia, who pilots the golden Panzer Soldat: Fight in a Divine Knight Battle against Aurelia, the principle of Thors Military Academy Reaves II Branch. Just how strong is the golden Panzer Soldat piloted by the high-powered principle?
Previously unseen formidable foes: An unknown, blue-armored Panzer Soldat will also appear. Its heavy armor and strong arm blow make it a force to be reckoned with.
Attack: Attack the Enemy’s Weak Point to Perform a Link Attack
Enemy Panzer Soldats have three parts-the head, arms, and body-and you can attack by choosing a part to target. Among them are weak points, and when that weak point is attacked, there is a high probability the enemy will lose their balance. Just like standard battles, by using a “Link Attack” in a Divine Knight Battle, you can unleash a flurry of attacks. On the other hand, if you attack a part that is not a weak point, the enemy may guard or counterattack.
Even in Divine Knight Battles, it is essential to lower the enemy’s Break Gauge. The “Break Gauge” introduced in The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III is also present in Divine Knight Battles, and by attacking to lower the gauge, you can drive the enemy into a “Break State.” An enemy that enters the Break State is not only temporarily weakened, the probability of them losing their balance by an attack rises to 100 percent. Since there are attack methods to efficiently reduce the gauge, assessing the situation is essential during battle.
Strike their weak point to break their balance: If you successfully strike the enemy’s weak point, they will lose their balance. Just like standard battle Link Attacks, you can unleash a flurry of attacks.
Deal great damage with a Link Attack: Normally this only consists of consecutive attacks, but if you have BP (Brave Points), it is possible to use stronger attacks such as “special moves” and “cooperative attacks.”
Defend: Reduce Damage and Aim for a Counter
Enemy attacks are very powerful in Divine Knight Battles. Sometimes it will be necessary to choose the “Defense” command in order to minimize damage to the Panzer Soldat. Since you can see which Panzer Soldat in your party is being targeted by the enemy by pressing the L2 button, you should use this while solidifying your defenses. For Rean’s Valimar, there is also the counterattack Craft, “Morning Moon.”

Loved playing Cold Steel 3.
Never thought I would like the "new kids" more than the original class 7.
Playing it right now. New kids have several layers of personality poured into them. OG Class VII were a lot more people and they were kind of 1 quirk only each.
There wasn't much substance to the OG Class VII to begin with.
Just started playing cold steel like a month ago and im blasting through it it's so much fun, I'm currently at the last chapter of 3 bruh
Revisiting after 2 years, I still prefer the original class 7 myself, especially Fie, Laura and Millium
Having just finished Cold Steel 3 recently and starting Cold Steel 4, I am amazed at how much more I prefer the new Class 7 over the old. Perhaps the fact there are less characters makes it easier to attach to them I dunno. Laura is still my wife but I love Juna, Altina, Kurt, Musse and Ash.
Just finished this great game and what can I say. Beyond expectation and the OST fits perfectly. Stoked for CS4!

Graphics are quite an improvement but the characters aren't as much.
Thats a shame, I enjoyed Juna, Musse, Altina and Ash quite a lot, love this new Class VII. Kurt is likeable as well
Today I finished Azure and I finished Cold Steel 2 last year and I've started Cold Steel 3 some 4 hours ago... I love it !! it's great, I love the intro and Rean's outfit.... Time to see how Azure and Cold Steel 2 lead up to now.
7 months late, but i guess im always late to party. i just finished TOCS 2 and hyped for TOCS 3 but budget restrained me. It costs RM104 (probably around 30-40$) enough to broke my personal finance. Im just hope there is sales that can halves the amount.
When I saw this the first time, I thought "Damn, they finally got a budget for the opening"
Shoulda spent that money so the voice actors can voice more lines. Fr it's annoying af that the other characters talk but Rean just has text in some scenes. Still love trails though, I'd rather play with no voices.

@@GiordanDiodato Well yeah. I mean my problem is not that there's little voice acting, it's that there's no voice acting in weird places like when some characters talk and others don't in the same cutscene.

Oh my god… It's full of spoilers! Yeah, you'll notice most of them only after finishing the game, but nothing can excuse this Osborne part.
Falcom is notorious for including huge spoilers into their game intros but they are so out of context and sometimes full of metaphors (the crow in the CS1 intro when C appear) that you can't help but wonder what it all means way until the end where all the spoilers hit you
And I mean Osborne was obviously designed to look like your typical villain: his appearance, voice and aura

There is absolutely close to no spoilers in this opening if you played the previous games. Yes you see the characters that appear but thats it.
If you compare this to the Trails to Azure Evolution opening that one has spoilers out the ass.
This is mostly just cryptic nonsense that only makes sense after playing.

I completed this game, completed all three parts, 1-2-3 cold steel series, I can tell you that I am simply shocked by the richness of information in the plot narrative and literally shocked by the ending of the game. I definitely recommend everyone check out this series as for me it is one of the best JPRG games of the last 30 years.

CSIV is NOT the last. Hajimari no Kiseki was just announced in Japan which will bridge the gap between Erebonian Arc and Calvard Arc.

At first they planned to make it as a trilogy but due to the long story the end it in the 4th game.
Literally as the game title :
"Sen no Kiseki IV - The End of Saga"
The new game will focus on different story that took place after the event of the 4th sen no kiseki.
Featuring the similar protagonist from the past kiseki games but will move on into the new arc thus the title is not "Trails of Cold steel V"
I just hope they will speed up with localization, because it took so long for their games to be release on West due to the huge dialogue need to be translate.

Nah, not every RPG should do it. Some writers just suck at keeping consistency through multiple games. I mean, look at the mess that is Kingdom Hearts.
That said, I would like to see more studios try out the same idea. Unfortunately, studios aren't willing to take such a risk because it makes their series less accessible. At most they'll do one or two direct sequels, never more.

jUst a raNdom sTranger right. The quality in these three minutes is more than enough. I’ve bought and rebought these games across systems do an anime would be amazing. The good thing though is that with Hajimari, they are half way through the series. Which means at least another 15-20 years of games to be made.

Folks, Cold Steel 3 has been announced for Switch!
I kinda dislike the way they went with this intro being fully animated while the other 2 were a mix between animation and graphics.
Either way I am getting it for my PC.
Just goes to show that they finally managed to make a fully animated opening, which imo is a good sign.

Man this is such a back step from the previous once, its ok if you want to do it pure anime style but then you better have the freaken budget for it, instead of pretty much every scene dragging on 5 more seconds than the music tempo . without much movement, if your going to do that they the previous style was much more suitable and looks better .

Technically this is Legend of Heroes 8 if you're gonna call it Legend of Heroes. Cold Steel 1-4 all make up Eiyuu Densetsu 8. (Aka Legend of Heroes 8)
I love that the visuals are actual drawn animation instead of visual novel style. Shows quality, improvement. The song itself meh. I prefer the past two for sure.

@@danielsantos-gz3lm Not really. The issue I have here is how poorly the music lines up with the opening, including the logo's appearance.
It was out of pace, but ehh i think it not that bad.
Just my opinion, even though the song is great, I don't quite like the animation, the drawing is quite bad, and it felt cheap. I prefer visual novel style OP like in Trail I & II.
For me it's the opposite. This shows more quality. I feel it's the nostalgia speaking through you.

tbh, i dont have much problem with animation nor songs in 3 of the Sen. I found them to be interesting in a lot of ways.
While what i looked here is not Ufotable level of animation, it still looks okay. Same goes with 1 and 2. The VN-like opening but in high quality is a please to my eyes.
