- In this video I do a range test of the Wired Cruiser 60 Volt E-Bike with a 1200 watt hour battery. This will be done riding a variety of terrains and using realistic amounts of pedal assist and throttle to give real world results. How far will it go?
If you don't like my range test, maybe you can do one of your own on your very own Wired bike!!

Great video. I'm 66 and regularly ride 38-44 miles on my Wired Cruiser. Like you, I rode road/mountain bikes from my teens to around 50. After that, I slowly slowed to almost zero riding. Ebikes brought the fun back into riding and life in general again at 62. My Wired Cruiser is my 3rd ebike and its a beast compared to my first two. Love it!!!
I did a range test with my August 2023 Wired Freedom with the Samsung battery. I used 0,1,2 pedal assist with minimal throttle. I got 100 miles with 11:04 hours in the saddle. I had 55.6v left on the battery.
That impressive. I pedaled only a few blocks on PA 0 and you really feel the weight of this bike that's for sure.
Thats awesome, I'm waiting on mine to be delivered early November, good to know it gets that kind of range
I'm 63YRS OLD man started ebiking I love it have two 15 to 20 miles is enough for me and my butt .GREAT VIDEO VERY TRUE GOD BLESS BROTHER AND YOUR FAMILY
Great vid. I did a 60 mile ride with my Juiced Rip Current S. I did the ride with 2 extra batteries on the back rack. each battery is almost 1kw. I only peddled on the steep hills and used the full power. I had an extra 10 miles of range. Extra batteries are fantastic for an old man like me. Hi from Woodinville.
Great video. Agree about the range point of view. Just ordered the new cruiser with the dual battery. Thanks for posting.
At age 60 I rode an old Specialized from Houston, TX to Cushing, OK. 60 to 80 miles a day, and I loved it!
Thanks for this ride ! interesting area . been thinking about wired lately .
You're absolutely correct about riding range and trail riding difficulty. Unless you're a serious committed rider, 30 miles is a long ride.I grew up in Strawberry Point and have ridden on literally every trail in GGNRA, even had a few of my own. Mt. Tam was 'home away from home'. I've ridden everywhere around the Bay area over the years. I still have my Marin Indian Fire Trail (89). I loaded it with all of the titanium and fancy upgraded stuff, it's been perfect and is in showroom condition. I preferred technically difficult trails, never had the balls to run high speed downhill. I also never crashed seriously like most of my friends. Today I take it out every now and then and wow the kids. I'm 71 now, time for an e-bike. I also rode a KZ750E and a 2010 Hyabusa so I like the speed/power factor. The Freedom bikes seem like a lot of bang for the bucks, tough choice between the Wired and Cruiser. Good reviews, be safe out there 👍👍 🙂
Cool video - Thanks for uploading. Loving the video game midi music.. Lol...
Wow thank you for doing this range test. Loved the mining cave unexpected film shot. All the different terrains test was great also. I'm from Alaska and just purchased the WIRED Freedom so was wondering about the different terrains. Your my build and weight so perfect! Ty again
How many months out of the year can you ride in Alaska?
@shootthechit I live in south east alaska where the winters are mild, so maybe 8 months out of the year. I live a little city called : Sitka
Most I’ve done on the same Cruiser model was 48 miles, 200lbs (me & cargo), mixed terrain, pas 1-3 with throttle used sparingly. Was at about 53v when I was done and my ass was done well before that. Guessing I had another 3-5 miles in it at the rate I was going but who knows (batt flashing). Thing gets plenty of range for me. Cool vid bro, much appreciated.
I agree, 48 miles is plenty of range for the vast majority of situations.
I have done 40 mile rides, on anlog bike but it's an all day thing. Completely shot by the end of the day.
I agree that 30- 40 miles range is a good goal for more people
Great video! Good for those doing research
great video and info. I'm looking at getting this bike. I'm 256 and gives me a good idea now. It would work great for my commute to work and home. all together 14 miles each day. Thanks for the video
I commute to the gym 4 days a week and that is a 12 mile round trip and I still have a ton of battery left so your commute should be no problem. Thanks for watching!
Very nice video bud thanks for sharing your ride and good range test I’m forced to ride on backroads where I live, but very low traffic no trails or bike lanes in my area
i did it on an old-school bike before power
28 miles is the longest I have ridden. The range is more important when you have to go somewhere and you may stop for a while and then you need to go back.
Great job!
“A1 Abrams” 😂 subscribed! 😆
After watching this video again, just realized you stopped at anal park lol😅
I have a Kepler 52V 1000w 20 Amp/h and I did 41 miles, it took me two days to run my battery down due to it getting late in the evening. The battery does drop quickly once it drops below 100%.
I also have a Juiced CrossCurrentX 750w 19.2 Amp/h and I have rode over 60 miles and have not depleted the battery on it yet. But you can tell that your power suffers as it gets low.
The Kepler looks like a nice bike, would be my 2nd choice outside of the Wired. 41 miles is a solid range. Were you using the throttle much?
Great job
I also wanted to comment, keeping charging between ~20-80% will greatly increase battery life. Slow changing also helps this. It's a characteristic of lithium batteries 🌁🌉
Nice ride!
Wow. Quite a route. Nice thx
Chit Wired just releases a new Freedom that has a dual battery. You better get on the chit bro 😂
I'm accepting donations for one now! lol
@@shootthechit 😂
I've done a 32 miles. Long ride
just bought mine what is the best settings on controller?
your music overlay sounds like Nintendo video game.
Thats what it is!
What’s the range on each pas level for 1-5
I’ve only got about 50 miles on my e-bike so I’m hoping I get used to longer rides. Right now my taint is shot after 10 miles.
Rides can be rough on the taint. Took me a few rides to get used to the saddle on the Wired
It’s funny how all these manufacturers claim 75-100 miles
But it barely makes it 30
How is this Cruiser model working out w/o the rear shock ? also is there a phone charge usb connection available ? Thanks..
The cruiser still has a decent ride even without the rear shock due to having the fat tires. If you run at a lower psi it will absorb some of the bumps. I have the Freedom as well and it is definitely a better ride quality, but the Cruiser is still do-able. There is are 2 USB ports (one on battery, one on display) but it will charge super slow, I think its a 1 amp , and I've heard a few people say they have fried things using that port, so I never use mine anymore
Just curious, with this type of ebike, can you achieve a moderate amount of cardio? I mean I assume you have to pedal sometimes?
You can if you want to. If you use lower assist levels and pedal you will get a workout. I feel like I get the heart rate up every time I go out
Is this with the single battery or both that comes with the bike
@@colbyrobeson7719 This is the single battery 2023 model
Thanks for making these videos man. There isn't many on the WIRED bikes.
Would you consider doing a range test video with throttle only?
I might do that at some point, but would most likely do throttle and pedal assist 5 which is full power (almost the same output as throttle). Curious to see how far it would go myself
Some kind of narcotunnel all the way to perros bravos nuevo leon
Were you using a USB charger on your ride with the control display?
I was, had it plugged into the gopro. Comes in handy
What was your voltage showing when you ran out of power?
Hard to say because it drops as soon as you pedal but I think it was around 51 volts at rest at the end.
what state are you in
I'm in California east of San Francisco
First, I don't like fat tyres it looks ridiculous.
Second, step through frame looks gay.
Third, I need 70 miles range stock, I don't want to have to buy extra battery.
Great news, you don't have to buy one!
