    I had the same issue 3 years ago. My fix was I took the fuse box apart and replaced the wire inside with a doorbell wire. I had to strip about a 12-in length of doorbell wire and lay it in the track of the broken wire. I think the whole fix cost me about $5. This is definitely a great video for anyone who has these diagnostic codes. Keep posting videos my man and thanks.

    Wanted to say thank you for this information. I have a 2013 Traverse and my vehicle would periodically shut off, sometimes start right back up other times up to 10 minutes with a P1682 check engine code. The diagnostic tool said to replace the ignition switch which I did and still would periodically shut off. Watched your video went to the dealership to get the exact part number for my vehicle then bought it for half price on Amazon, installed and the problem fixed. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I was so close to junking my vehicle and know it runs fine.

    I have an 06 Cadillac dts. I'm getting the code p1682. Changed multiple parts due to the mechanics I chose.I then changed the ignition starter switch and ecm/crank fuse from the fuse box under the hood. Crunk up and drove away. It was a crank no start. Drove for 1 day and unfortunately I got the same code today. Went and got a new switch replaced it and the fuse same thing.

    Hey there Terry,
    I hope your'e well and strong.. So I'm confused. If it's fixed, great! But what's the exact problem here? In other words, if it's a common issue, I understand that even with the new fuse box you have bought the same problem could persist anytime in the future? Because the original fuse box you had seems decent. In short, can someone point out the specific issue here? For example a burnt connector or relay that is physically evident..
    Anyway, keep posting brother!

    • @chinog4182
      @chinog4182 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes there is a specific issue they are multiple copper wires inside that fuse box . When copper wire heats up, it causes the fuse box to go haywire engine would turn over but won't crank . So the reason coverman bought a new fuse box is the same reason I'm buying one because if one copper wire goes bad the ...soon or later other copper wire can go bad as well.

    • @Coverman66
      @Coverman66  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      a few things, the heat will expand the metal in the circuit board. could once the board cools down the connection is re established. also the relays on the board could get lose and not make a great connections. these are reasons ive heard..

    You could be on the freeway going 75 miles an hour and once it heats up just a little bit it breaks the current because the copper circuitry breaks apart so then when it strands you and you have to get a cab home and you have to get it towed and all that s*** the next day when it's cooled off it starts right up and runs beautiful until it warms up enough to just conk out and when it comes out it just cranks but it doesn't start leave it there for a day come back starts right up like it's brand new and runs just fine

    Same thing happened to me too exactly and I tell you what I can't believe Chevrolet did not fix the problem after all those years they just kept putting the same f****** piece of s*** circuit box for the fuse and right now as we speak there's probably 1,472 people stranded somewhere because of this problem I'm so pissed at Chevrolet

  • @stevengorum2727
    @stevengorum2727 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    What happens with this piece of s*** is the fuse panel which is underneath the hood gets heated up and so what it does it just expands just enough to seperate the copper circuitry which is underneath the fuse panel or part of the fuse panel ..I meant to say .....and so do you think Chevrolet would have looked into that maybe put thicker copper in it or something like maybe some reinforcement .??..I don't know no they don't give a s*** like I said right now as we speak there's probably 1,472 people in this world stranded because of the same f****** problem... As a matter of fact they wanted like $500 for the fuse panel so not only are they not fixing it they're charging the s*** out of you knowing that all of them are going bad
