They all speak Russian, the soviets did a pretty good job of suppressing the minority languages and cultures, but the Kalmyk language is for sure making a come back. The grandpa of a friend of my mom learned Chinese from his English teacher. (We are in Germany btw.) He was so talented that his teacher told him that when the Chinese Communist come to Germany (it was after the war I think) Mandarin will be very useful. So he learned Mandarin. He is a really nice person, but he has old views on a lot of things. I haven't seen him in like 2 years, I should visit him I hope he is doing good, he was like 87 the last time I've seen him.
