    Thank you for spending your time in Vietnam. Traffic with a lot of motorcycle not easy for any cyclist but you guys still complete the trip and still firming so well like a short movie. I can feel the breath of local people in Ha Giang through your film.
    One more time thank you so much and don't forget to stay strong for an other trip.

    It's always the laughter we remember from Vietnam.
    We rode down to Singapore from Cam Ranh in 2019, but went back to explore more of Vietnam last year and we were down in the Mekong Delta when Covid struck. It was all very unreal.

    This video was really interesting! The interaction with the people - I particularly laughed with your response "No, no baby" - the workers in the field, and the scenes along the coast. The scene riding along the red sand road at (4:22) looked magical. It must have been difficult for you to know what to do with the virus situation, and I am glad that you were able to travel and still return safely.

      We often said we stored our babies in our pannier bags... Worked like a charm to get people to laugh 😄
      It wasn't easy to understand what was going on and to make a decision... We where in a big cycling whatsapp group and more and more people made the decision to go back home. We stretched our time a little bit but eventually had to make a choice.

    What a beautiful video. The way you combine the lifestyles and bike touring is really perfectly balanced. Years ago in the states we had plant a tree program. Just faded out. Wouldn't it be great to bring back a program that actually helps the earth. You have seen so much in all your travels around the world. What one thing from each country would like to make a part of your lifestyle now and in the future? Long question for sure. Thanks for a great video. Take care and stay safe, Al

    • @WheelstoWander
      @WheelstoWander  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Especially in current times with all the wild fires a tree planting program would be a great initiative!
      Wow that's a hard question as we visited so many countries and each of them has its own beautiful unique features... If we can summarise what really made the trip it's the hospitality and kindness of the people we met, in real life, and also through our youtube channel. We truly experienced that no matter what culture, religion or upbringing there's always a common ground of care and kindness that made us feel connected and welcome anywhere in the world!
      We will save your question for a possible Q&A in the future if you don't mind :-)

    Weer een mooie indruk hoe divers de aarde is met al zijn soorten mensen. Zo zit je in Laos waar de mensen redelijk rustig en teruggetrokken zijn wat ik begreep, en zo zit je in Vietnam waar men weer een stuk drukker en lawaaiiger zijn... Het is natuurlijk een momentopname maar toch leert het je hoe lastig het zou kunnen zijn om mensen van verschillende pluimage en culturen in harmonie met elkaar te laten leven... Ik kijk al uit naar de volgende, maar krijg wel het idee dat we richting de "grote pauze" gaan... Tot later, Kees

And as for the virus, yes it's true, and its very contagious. You better pick any route that far from crowded city. Use N95 masker when in public area. In Indonesia where I live, some tourist attractions is still closed due to the virus. Nevertheless, I think you should keep cycling, stay on village route / forest with minimal contacts from others. It will be much safer. Even if you going back to home now, the virus is already reach Europe. All you can do is stay at home then.

    The scenes from the market were wonderful. Do you know what the long necked bird, on the rotisserie, is called? We always enjoy your interactions with the local people. That is especially true with the Vietnamese women! Looks like you are close to having to return home. Very sad. Thank you again for your video.

    Great Stuff you two and it's been an amazing trip so far. We sent you a message earlier via Instagram, but please disregard since you answered the question we had down below. It's all good and happy to hear you're both doing well and saving for the next trip. We too came home with the goal of saving for 3-5 years before hitting the road again. This past May was our 5th year and we're ready, but BUT as everyone knows the world is currently shut down. So we have put off leaving for another 8 months and fingers crossed the borders of the world are open and we can be FREE BIRDS again!! Your videos are top notch and your adventure is a true inspiration to all. We wish the best and should we happen to cross Nederland on our way to visit family in Deutschland we will surely look you up. One of our routes has us landing in Dublin and a cycle about through Ireland before crossing over through England for the fairy from Newcastle to IJmuiden, so we'll see what happens. Until then we look forward to your upcoming videos and hope to recognize some familiar places that we too visited in Vietnam. Your friends in Florida! Ron and Petra

    Luckily for you is coming to Vietnam at the moment of traditional Tet. They (include me), people from the big cities will come back to their family, wear the newest and most beautiful clothing to visit each other, send the best wishes to the lunar new year. Not sure where your couple is currently now, hope you always well and continue the expedition. Welcome to Vietnam!

    You didn't know at the time but Vietnam is one of the safest countries to be in terms of Corona infections. But you are probably very far from Vietnam already. I'm curious about your bicycles, the wheels are so small. It seems bigger wheels would be much better for rough roads like those, you would feel the bumps much less.

    • @WheelstoWander
      @WheelstoWander  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      We drive on asfalt 90 % of the time, we chose 26" tyres because they're available all over the world. If we go more offroad we would probably go for bigger tyres :-)

      @@WheelstoWander thank you for your reply. I really enjoy watching your videos. Still have many to watch. In that case, you two must be quite tall for the wheels to look so small. Good idea to choose 26 in, it's still the most popular wheel size.
